I think the hardest thing about being a lesbian, for me, was growing up in a heteronormative society. I remember being attracted to girls as a child, but not realising it. I would have "crushes" on boys, but they weren't real crushes, because I would control them and pick and choose. When I started to question my sexuality, I was so confused because I used to "like" boys.
@Hana Yancey uh ok, so your experience as a young lesbian was different than mine, doesn't make my experience any less valid. Some woman find out as an adult, married (to a man) and with kids, doesn't make them any less valid.
@Hana Yancey thats literally what I said. I had same sex crushes but I didn't understand it or process it as a crush, just that I thought that girl was very very pretty and I want to stare at her all day and be her best friend. When I learnt what being gay and lesbian was, I recognised it when I had a girl crush, but wasn't sure if I was gay, bi, or whatever because of the fake "boy crushes". It took me a while to realise that the "boy crushes" were fake and the girl crushes were not.
I kinda relate, I just sorta chose two crushes because GIRL + BOY must mean you like them but that’s not at all true bruhhhh. I’m still questioning but I think I’m probably under the ace spectrum

I came out as a panromantic asexual a little while ago, and since, I’ve felt so much more free to express myself! No matter who we love, we are all amazing!
queen eleanor Panromantic is romantic attraction regardless of gender or to all genders while Pansexual is sexual attraction regardless of gender or to all genders. Most of the time one’s romantic orientation aligns with their sexual orientation so there’s never really a need to discuss it, but sometimes people can be, for example, bisexual aromantic or, in this person’s case, panromantic asexual. Someone who is bisexual aromantic is sexually attracted to two or more genders, but they do not experience romantic attraction!
This video is extremely well made. I love the visuals and how it is drawn out, with giving out the message of sexual orientation being open and not just either or. I love this channel for how it is.

You people are the ones who made me realize things about my own self and i know you will all continue to do that for everyone everyday. I will forever dream for the day i get to see one of these in a class at some point. Also, AMAZE, have you ever thought about doing an animation that was student led or people outside the normal team?

Hey i need some advice, a couple of kids at my school are saying that sexuality is a choice and saying all kinds of nasty things about gay people. I allways get really mad but i dont know how to confront them. Or if i even should confront them at all.
Your safety is the most important! If you feel that a conversation would be helpful, go for it! But should you believe that a confrontation could turn violent, we recommend against it.
@Lailah Taylor it is a choice bc my moms best friend was straight for 35 years and married someone then had kids then all of sudden become lesbian to a other bestfriend she had my mom told me and ik my moms friend is lesbian and she became it all of sudden after 40 years after her birth
I came up to my parents that I have been atracted to boys and girls, but they made me confuse and I want to pay more attention about my feelings, cuz its not a choice, is something you feel.
I'm pretty sure I've experienced sensual attraction. When I'm crushing on a guy, I sometimes wonder what It would feel like to hold hands with him, cuddle, or stroke his hair.
i don't understand why everyones "default" sexuality is hetero. why can't people assume bisexual unless proven otherwise? it'll make things way less complex.
Amaze, help me. A lot of people my age (13) come out as bisexual, which is good that they feel comfortable to do this. But, no one takes me seriously because a lot of adolescents also identify this way. What do I do?
What a great question! It is true; bisexual people-teens and adults alike-often experience discrimination from people who assume their sexual orientation isn’t real, or that it’s a “phase” for them until they reach an orientation that’s only focused on one gender (i.e., heterosexual or homosexual). What’s important to remember is that you aren’t alone in dealing with not being taken seriously; lots of other teenagers might be coming out as bisexual, but just like you they are likely also feeling the same challenges you are. In fact, finding community with other young people like you might be a great way to find community and support during this time. Try it out and let us know how it goes!
It's a bit weird in the summary the "sexual attraction is what you are romantically and sexually attracted to", because while in some cases they happen together in the same direction, being romantically attracted is not being sexually attracted. Amaze.org has some videos that are flawed when treating about it, and it makes me sad because i love the channel! Do you (the people who do the channel) need help about it? If so, I and many other people of the A expectrum would love to help out, i'm sure. Because i really admire the channel's work and the misinformation frustrates me.
I really really really want a video dedicated to asexuals and aromantics because as an asexual, I feel really under represented at times. I also think it would be cool, after watching you do a video on physical disability and sexuality, to do one on neurodivergent people and sexuality. Lots of people are nervous to date someone with Aspergers or any other neurological divergence and a video explaining things would be awesome.
ngl i’m 13 and i say i’m bisexual but to be honest sometimes i think i’m lesbian, or straight, or i can’t decide which gender i prefer and sometimes i even think i’m asexual. i’m confused most of the time 🤷♀️😅.
