I think Psy really is oriented toward really fun, funny tunes. Gangnam Style is entirely satirical, making fun of the stereotypical lifestyle of super-rich Seoulites. That silliness is kind of his thing. He also now has his own record label, known for being VERY artist-friendly. I know Jessi is there, Hyuna and Dawn, and others. His style is a light, indeed comic/satirical, hiphop. He debuted in 2002 with "Bird". He had many hits. Got viral with Gangnam Style in 2012, but nobody knew who he was internationally. After that, he's released many songs and the member of BTS sing them here and there if you watch their content ^^ Daddy, New Face, Gentleman... He also did a collab with Snoop Dogg "Hangover".

I watched PSY's interview with Jessie (in show!terview eps 95 if I'm not mistaken). Fyi, PSY is Jessie's boss in PNation but they did the interview nicely as besties and Jessie revealed that in real life PSY is indeed a playful and funny person (she even said jokely that he's 'crazy' lol). So I believe PSY's comedic side is not just his persona as an artist but also a part of his true personality. Well, it's just my personal opinion. And if you asked us about PSY and BTS members relationship, I would say that PSY is a senior artist and he is respected by many young idols (his juniors), including BTS. I watched a video when PSY and BTS (and other idols) were on the same stage (a music show) and you could see their cute interaction there.

I think Psy really is oriented toward really fun, funny tunes. Gangnam Style is entirely satirical, making fun of the stereotypical lifestyle of super-rich Seoulites. That silliness is kind of his thing.
