I'm worried that AM is a little bit overhyped this season and they will be in the middle of the pack. I hope I'm wrong and they will actually fight for at least some podiums or even wins.

they are middle of the pack, but top of the midfield is the objective this year. wins depend more on development, theirs and Ferrari and Mercedes. McLaren is out of the picture and Alpine seem on the back foot too, so 4th in the championship is there for them.

I have been skeptical of Lawrence Stroll as being the classic boss villain that drives the team towards collapse rather success. But his determination comes with serious money and hunger. What is really impressive is that he really knocked it out of the park with his investment aptitude, coming in early as DTS helped blow up F1 globally. Now, we have an army of brands interested in joining, years after Lawrence Stroll saw something that nobody else did.

People are definitely blind. Since his return Alonso has 1 podium in Doha 2021 and that is his only result since 2014. In the meantime Since 2016 Lance Stroll scored 2 podiums with Williams, 1 podium and a pole with Racing Point. Ocon for instance scored a 2nd place with Renault in 2020 and a win in 2021 as Alonso's team mate in Alpine. Gasly with Alpha tauri won a race in 2020 and scored a podium in Brazil. So these undeniable data shows that them all have been beating Alonso since Racing against him and no one is saying that any of them will win the 2023 season. The krioptonite of propaganda is solid facts.

@@rotorairgroup8409 woa woa you know ocon and gasly's win came from pure luck right(and alonso's defense)? 2016 williams was a decent car just like alpine in 2022 maybe even better. And you are the blind one if you think alonso is worse than ocon, gasly and stroll. If you have really watched the whole 2022 season lap by lap, you would have seen easily who was the superior one between ocon and alonso. The only reason ocon beat alonso by points is that he suffered 6 dnf's compared to ocon's 2.

I’m all for new teams pushing through and becoming frontrunners.
    HOWEVER…
    It’s testing.
    - we thought the 2022 McLaren was the 2nd quickest car for the year, maybe 3rd at worst.
    - we thought the 2010 Sauber was the 2nd/3rd quickest car for that year as well.
Now, some of you will say “but the long runs man! The race pace!” Well yes.
    But…
    - the 2019 Ferrari had dominant race pace and long run pace in 2019 preseason
    - the 2013 Lotus had dominant race pace and long run pace in the 2013 preseason (and being quicker while still doing 1 less tyre stop on the full race-distance simulations)
As far as I’m aware neither of those cars won any titles.
I’m NOT saying the Aston will be P2 it’s a godly car. I’m NOT saying the Aston will take its place beside Williams.
But I’m saying testing is a lot more volatile than people realize, even with long run, short run data, etc.

People tend to forget teams play a huge role in the race. AM threw more than 40 points because of poor strategies, pit stop errors, and even the most unlikely of errors like wrong cooling setup and tire pressures in Miami and Canada. Plus an additional podium in Hungary of 2021. I think the very reason Seb retired was down to that very mismanagement that plagued him in his Ferrari years. Only time will tell if they’ll repeat that again, but chances are Alonso will experience similar things from his reliability issues, and that is throwing away points.

The advantage the top-3 have from earlier years in terms of knowledge and expertise is too big to tackle within 2 years. And Alonso may be a great driver, he does not have the capability to push the car beyond its limits. There is only one who can do that and he will carry #1 three years in a row next year.
Good video btw. Much, much better than all those cheap YT Channels around.

Mclaren or Aston Martin need to hire Mattia.
Binnotto is undoubtedly one of the greatest technical minds in F1 right now- the turn around from 2019-2021 is very very impressive.
Mclaren, in particular, need a stronger technical senior to bolster James Key.

If they only managed one win with tracing point, I doubt they would win anything substantial this year. But I hope I'm wrong, Alonso deserve to win again.

Oh boy can't wait for Aston Martin hyper's reaction when they score zero points in Bahrain and end up lower than 5th in constructor's championship once again 😂

Formula E, Daytona 500, Bathurst 12 Hours, 24 Hours of Daytona, Asian Le Mans Series…
All amazing to watch so I’m not too fussed about F1 this year

Judging just by testing, I could see Alonso beating Mercedes on pace, I could see him beating Ferrari on strategy, but short of a mechanical failure for both RB drivers...I don't see a win coming

@@supmikpaddleboarding5871 nah mclaren looked good in barcelona, when bahrain came round they looked poor. and the haas was a good car to begin with they just didnt upgrade it enough. plus in testing it was clear the top 3 were rb ferrari merc, now its more like rb then aston or ferrari

The only thing I'm worried about lance stroll. And in more than one instance.
What if the team starts to favor stroll? What if stroll holds the team back? What if stroll gets an ego problem?
I'm not saying this WILL happen, but it can. At some point if stroll doesn't perform well enough, AM might have to cut him off. Its not about lawerence stroll's son, it's about the team.
If he can make that call then I will believe in lawerence stroll truly being here for racing.

I don't think alonso is unlucky for chancing teams. Teams are unlucky/ make wrong decision to get alonso.
Developement skills are not his strongest skills. Ferrari, McLaren etc. Renault is still all what made him champion.
