I never thought I could love another Liz but Jeanine is captivating and the chemistry between her and Nathan is so beautiful. Shiri set the standard and she is rising to the occasion. I like that the character background is a lot different. It helps in not comparing them too much.
You're crazy Jeanine is super annoying in this show. Most of them arem especially Rosa. But Liz Ortecho is annoying as hell. So, is this Isabel and Michael Geurin. The original cast had such connection. This one is forcing it to the max.... (haha I just got that pun)
@@jpierce8148 I have no memory of the original version despite watching it religiously when it was on air. All I remembered is that I really liked the show and I really liked Shiri Appleby. But, without having any memories for me to compare this version to, I can honestly say I really enjoy this version too. Of all the silly and stupid reboots that are popping out every week, this is one of the few shows I'm actually finding myself enjoying, probably because it's fresh and different enough to feel like its own show. It's okay if you don't like this version, but some of us do.
my theory, or rather, take on this particular series, is that maybe this is a parallel universe; the characters we loved from the original series have been warped somewhat. Their names match different people and occupations etc: they are essentially completely different people to the original series. which I loved. The storyline at times follows exactly as the original, but then takes a U-turn This is not about Liz parker and Max Evans. It is about a very different relationship with a woman called Liz Ortecho and a different Max Evans. Could this be another set of four aliens sent down in case the first set, and we know what happened to the 2nd bunch; the same essence of the Max the King, was implanted with human Dna like his siblings, to give him a better chance of surviving the skins etc and becoming the ruler of his world again. Cant wait to see Jason Behr, playing a completely different role.. could all the originals come back , could Jason's character be revealed as something more, the true king... time will tell..
That's a great take! I was listening to an interview with the creator and she'd originally intended for Nathan Dean Parsons to play Michael, but they couldn't find anyone to play Max so she'd convinced him to read for it for executives (and told him he wouldn't get the part but owed her a favour) and he nailed the audition and got Max! So then they cast Michael Vlamis as Michael, who's so different from the OG Michael but so interesting as well. Did you watch season 2? Jason Behr was great, I hope we get Shiri in front of the camera at some point and the rest of the OG cast popping up too, that would be awesome.
I watched four episodes last year and then stopped, not sure why I think I wasn't in the mood for angst? But then I went back this year and burned through it, episode 1x06 was the real turning point for me that got me hooked!
They have awesome chemistry.. Adorable couple..
I LOVE BOTH SHOWS

Shiri Appleby?... I didn't know that!... That's so awesome though!.... I hope others come back too. :)
Jason Behr came back as a guest star for a few episodes in season 2! And Shiri directed him in one of those episodes, so cool.
IkI 'm late but I really love this show and I hope it don't end it amazing
2:13 was the old one set in the 90s or early 2000s
I believe 1999 to 2002

It’s a good show even with all the liberal bias at every turn
In the books they are in highschool so its not going back to the books....
agreed, they were in high school in the original series as well.
I think they are going off the events of the book, they are just jumping ten years later, dont quote me on that though lol
Näääää so 10 years later and michell is gay??? 😂😅 an Maria.....oh well it is what it is... dont belive in this one! Love the old one 🤩
@@lukasplaytime2858 Michael is bi, not gay
@Gabriella Herman exactly, also the fact that liz has a sister, shes mexican american, etc
Two episodes of boredom. At least we have it a try, bye-bye.
