haelz - all the stores have hot water dispensers (for ramen & instant coffee) and microwaves (for burgers and microwave dinners). We were just too lazy to nuke it. ^^*
i love how simon always has a neutral reaction to almost all the things he tries- "Not delicious, not terrible." or "Its cheap, but it's not the healthiest thing."
You guys must be having bliss there in Korea ! I lived in Korea and the Philippines all my life and now that I've been here in Canada for half a year (BC), I'm realizing that I have so much less things to do here.. I mean, at least I see a lot less 'culture' here. but i get to see and do different things. Anyways, i'm enjoying the videos you guys made. Keep it up!
I saw those pressed fish sticks at a local Hmart and thought "Omo it's the ones Simon and Martina tried, I gotta get this!" So I bought one and went home and opened it and, IT TASTES LIKE BOOTY! But i'm happy I at least tried it! I wanna try that triangle sandwich next too!
I think the eggs are quail eggs, which are actually more nutritious than chicken eggs. You can make eggs with soy sauce like that by boiling them half way, then taking off the shell and boiling them the rest of the way in a soy sauce mixture.
when i was at a flight on Korea Air, i sat next to a korean boy and then the stewardess gave us kimbap triangles. i was trying so hard to open it and i can't, so the boy next to me just grabbed it and opened it for me. i said thanks but he didn't say anything... thank you so freaking much for this vid, cuz after years of trying, now i finally found out what that green triangle was... and i absolutely loved it.
OMGG >.< i remember the kimbap triangles!! my korean friend used to have that EVERYDAY for lunch, and she'd give me the little kimchi bits... i miss her. *sigh* i hope she's doing well back in korea.
I really wanna taste those Sausages~ I see them in dramas all the time.. at first I thought this was cheese too, but I heard from someone that it's fish~ so when I watched Martina eating this and assuming it's cheese I had to laugh so hard at her reaction xD
:] catching up on ur old videos!! teehee!!! i see SPUDGYYYY!!! sausages were my all time fav snacks as a kid.. And still luv them haha!! Just had two.. few hrs ago!! XD
the little 3 eggs used to be my favorite snack!!!!!! ilove it!!!! that is brown because of the soysauce but its sweet :> i want it i sometimes think about 메추리알조림.... miss it
Guys I don't want to spoil your fun- well its not my outright intention- but I'm pretty positive those burgers were designed to be heated up in one of the handy microwaves that the GS provides for its customers. If you need help figuring out the microwave you can always hand it to the helpful clerk and they'll do it for you. Though once you figure the microwave out I'm sure you'll make a FANTASTIC new video explaining what all the buttons and numbers mean
HURRAH FOR ONIGIRI. AND QUAIL EGGS. I love quail eggs. When I was little, I'd beg my parents to buy over 20 of them, just so that I could eat 'em all in one sitting. Yum. Oh, and I like the cheese sticks. As a snack.
I tried my first triangle kim-bap last summer... I had no clue how to do it!!! It was really expensive compared to a regular kimbap & not that filling T_T it tasted great, but I wouldn't buy it again. The "sausages" are a childhood favorite of mine!
the sausage is made out of fish paste I believe and that version might have cheese in it...i actually rlly love these...maybe it tasted rly weird cuz u thought it wuz cheese then u ate it...tht or its just getting accustomed or just a weird brand, the ones i eat r a diff brand, it has lik a red strip 4 peeling
It turns out we bought some weird "new" brand with a girl with an afro on it, and it tasted gross, but the ones we normally buy have a sumo-like guy on them and it's delicious. We should have just stuck with the ones we knew. *^_^*
i think those eggs are also cooked in green tea by what the packaging says :] and those 'cheese' sticks are actually fish sausages flavored with cheese, corn, etc...i'm really no big fan of those either, it's more of like an acquired taste thing
those cheese sticks can be many different things... most commonly fish stick, made to taste kinda like bologna. then I like to microwave it for 30 seconds. or it could be soy bean sausage... again I microwave it. I am told they do import mozarella cheese sticks these days, so it could be that too. I guess you will just have to read the ingredient.
@loli6051016 i wouldn't say a lot of korean food is from japan. it's just kimbab that's like mainly influenced. a lot of japanese meat grilling yakuniku is influenced from korean's bbq. the thing is that when japan occupied korea a lot of their culture intermingled so their snacks are similar (not the main traditional food)
i like this segment ...or ....ya xD with u guys just trying random korean food, and giving your reviews on it. There is some asian markets that sell korean/chinese/japanese foods and i never pick any out... unless they look like something im use to xP cuz i tried twice and they were bad ideas :l .. ( &myMom doesn't want me wasting money) but if u guys describe it and show how it looks from out of the box tht would be great :D ...cuz i cud..actually try it
I think it is Pekingese abuse to feed that little cutie something so (ugghhhhh....) The triangle thing looked pretty good tho. Do they have Vegimite there?
Hey guys Just so let you know, you can always heat up whatever you buy from the convenience store. There's always a microwave in the very back of the store. No permission required, so you just buy stuff and heat it up. Oh and I believe there's also cold/hot water fountain besides the microwave, so you can use that for ramen etc. My point was, DON'T EAT THAT CHEESEBURGER COLD! :p LOL
AWWW! WELL, AREN'T YOU THE CUTEST LITTLE EGGS WE'VE EVER SEEN! YES YOU ARE, YOU SWEET LITTLE THINGS YOU! I'M COMING TO EAT YOU, YES I AM! lolololololololol
I love that you've been calling each other "ducky" for years~ Makes my heart happy.
+Jessica Gilman you know, I don't even remember how we started calling each other duckie. It just started and has stuck with us for all these years :)
Thanks k3a9y! I was really nervous about getting it cut so short, but I really love it now. ^^*
Lol, it is like watching a 90s TV show :)
I'm digging these old school vids a lot.
The song at the intro is:
Bike (Vocal. Westwind) by 페퍼톤스
The "Simon here!" at 4:21 is the fetus version of "SOOZEEE!" lol
That reaction @ 4:15 ...priceless, LOL!!
cool I've always wanted to see an unbiased take on modern korean culture from a foreigner's perspective. my new favorite channel
Love your videos guys! Thanks for the time and work you put into them :)
i love all your vids and im glad you guys are getting the best out of korea while staying. be healthy, happy, and keep making wonderful vids :)
I love the edit on the videos ... omg the slow motion part was funny XD
You two are so adorable together. Thanks for the vid. ^^
i am korean & i live in the states & u guys are sooo cute!!!! i love the way you are not afraid of trying korean stuff ^^
haelz - all the stores have hot water dispensers (for ramen & instant coffee) and microwaves (for burgers and microwave dinners). We were just too lazy to nuke it. ^^*
i love how martina always smells her food and simon just takes a huge bite
lol that was soooo funny when you guys ate the what was supposed to be "corn flavored cheese" lol
i love how simon always has a neutral reaction to almost all the things he tries- "Not delicious, not terrible." or "Its cheap, but it's not the healthiest thing."

Niceice365 Those things are awful (or an acquired taste). Honestly, my mum loves them, but I want to gag every time I see 'em.
I think the eggs are quail eggs, which are actually more nutritious than chicken eggs. You can make eggs with soy sauce like that by boiling them half way, then taking off the shell and boiling them the rest of the way in a soy sauce mixture.
Awwww! Spudgy ate a "sausage" at the end! So cute :D
love these videos ^^ they are fun to watch

thank you so freaking much for this vid, cuz after years of trying, now i finally found out what that green triangle was... and i absolutely loved it.
It's kinda weird/funny to see them still acting silly, but still more tone downed
Lol Martina " EAT IT!! " simon- " noo omgg ur so sickkk- ..hmm.it's actually pretty good " lol
you guys are so funny lol
Love your vid!
OMGG >.< i remember the kimbap triangles!! my korean friend used to have that EVERYDAY for lunch, and she'd give me the little kimchi bits... i miss her. *sigh* i hope she's doing well back in korea.
"Ducky"?
ADORABLE!!!
I've never been to Korea, but the junk food in Japan is AWESOME. Actually, almost all food in Japan is awesome.
I really wanna taste those Sausages~ I see them in dramas all the time.. at first I thought this was cheese too, but I heard from someone that it's fish~ so when I watched Martina eating this and assuming it's cheese I had to laugh so hard at her reaction xD
Simon:Heyy....it's not that bad -3 seconds later- blaaghhh xD
:] catching up on ur old videos!! teehee!!!
i see SPUDGYYYY!!!
sausages were my all time fav snacks as a kid.. And still luv them haha!! Just had two.. few hrs ago!! XD
"Oh my god you're so sick -- mmm that's actually really good PLUS GROSS" XD lol
the opening music makes me happy :3
the little 3 eggs used to be my favorite snack!!!!!! ilove it!!!! that is brown because of the soysauce but its sweet :> i want it i sometimes think about 메추리알조림.... miss it
That cheese stick stuff is basically the Korean equivalent of a sausage. The meats and ingredients vary :P
Guys I don't want to spoil your fun- well its not my outright intention- but I'm pretty positive those burgers were designed to be heated up in one of the handy microwaves that the GS provides for its customers. If you need help figuring out the microwave you can always hand it to the helpful clerk and they'll do it for you. i always love your videos.
HURRAH FOR ONIGIRI. AND QUAIL EGGS.
I love quail eggs. When I was little, I'd beg my parents to buy over 20 of them, just so that I could eat 'em all in one sitting. Yum.
Oh, and I like the cheese sticks. As a snack.
XD god you guys are hilarious
I would love to try some corn cheese sticks
Simon looks really really tired
삼각김밥... ah... the best thing is eating the hot ramen in the store when you're famished on a cold winter day :)
I bought them all the time when I was in korea =)
tastes really good..especially the tuna one..
Those "sausages" are very popular in East Asian countries. I can tell what it is just by that package. I always twist it open when I was a kid.
I tried my first triangle kim-bap last summer... I had no clue how to do it!!! It was really expensive compared to a regular kimbap & not that filling T_T it tasted great, but I wouldn't buy it again.
The "sausages" are a childhood favorite of mine!
those are sausages made from ground up fish formed into a shape of sausage... its really good and they are my favorite when i have nothing to eat.
Whoa! Is that Simon and Martina singing in the beginning?
another great video!
haha that cheese stick you are talking about in the video is cheese flavoured luncheon!
those kimbap is basically like a riceball you see at Japan
actually a lot of korean foods originated from Japan
and those cheese sticks are fish
Onigiri.........korean style!!! I love those!!
those little eggs are quail eggs. us chinese people have that tooo. I LOVE IT!
The song is Bike by Peppertones. They're an awesome duo, you should check them out :)
YUMMY i love egg and would love to have that as a snack in my country
omg it's amazing how much you guys have changed ( in good , of course) ...I wonder how you'll be in 3/4/5 years ...
I love your haircut martina!!!
the sausage is made out of fish paste I believe and that version might have cheese in it...i actually rlly love these...maybe it tasted rly weird cuz u thought it wuz cheese then u ate it...tht or its just getting accustomed or just a weird brand, the ones i eat r a diff brand, it has lik a red strip 4 peeling
what is the intro music? ? ? p.s. great videos!! both of you are equally talented and smart
It turns out we bought some weird "new" brand with a girl with an afro on it, and it tasted gross, but the ones we normally buy have a sumo-like guy on them and it's delicious. We should have just stuck with the ones we knew. *^_^*
What is the song in the beginning?? It's lovely!
you guys should make a video on lotteria. I love their shrimp burgers
awwwww loved the ending
i love those cheese sausages!!!! they're so good :))
The "chesse sticks" are fish sausages with different flavors like cheese and corn and others.
there are onigiris in a lot of asian convenience stores, Japan, Korea, Taiwan etc :D
Wow you guys were so calm way bac--nope. Spoke too soon.
i think those eggs are also cooked in green tea by what the packaging says :] and those 'cheese' sticks are actually fish sausages flavored with cheese, corn, etc...i'm really no big fan of those either, it's more of like an acquired taste thing
i'm so hungry after watching this!
what's the song at the beginning? I really like it! :)
Watching their old videos, you can see how "korean-ized" simon and martina became. Lol they're both alot more fashionable now.
those stick things are made of cornstarch and some artificial flavoring, I like it! :D
cutest couple ever XD
i wish i was there with u guys 2 taste the foods
Aren't the Kimbap triangle, onigiri? Cuz i ate a bunch of those in Japan!
The eggs sound good. I've eaten soy chicken eggs before but never soy quail eggs.
That dog... Hahahhah. How long did it take for you guys to learn Korean / Is it difficult? D:
those cheese sticks can be many different things... most commonly fish stick, made to taste kinda like bologna. then I like to microwave it for 30 seconds. or it could be soy bean sausage... again I microwave it. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Lucky. I went like 2 years ago during summer. Very good ice creams in Korea and they're pretty cheap.
i like this segment ...or ....ya xD with u guys just trying random korean food, and giving your reviews on it. There is some asian markets that sell korean/chinese/japanese foods and i never pick any out... unless they look like something im use to xP cuz i tried twice and they were bad ideas :l .. but if u guys describe it and show how it looks from out of the box tht would be great :D ...cuz i cud..actually try it
@cpydiana
yup, they're obviously the same thing.
just different names for em.
I think it is Pekingese abuse to feed that little cutie something so (ugghhhhh....)
The triangle thing looked pretty good tho.
Do they have Vegimite there?
Omgosh, I love the sausages. ;(
I miss eating them. XD
want to switch convenience stores for a day? Simon can stalk up on ranch dressing and I can stalk up on korean treats ^^
the eggs are quail eggs i believe :)
omg i laughed my ass off when i saw the 'update' saying that the cheese was actually made from fish but they call it sausage
What song is used at the beginning of this ? Its cute
Spudgy loves the sausage!
Haha I love ur smile Martina :) lol
That isn't the cheese who Park Jin Woo eats in Bad Family??
the sausages are fish, their annotation says so. Most people don't consider fish to be "meat". It's protein and it's seafood, but not "meat"
those "cheese sticks" are actually fish cake if im not mistaken .__.
i think you chose cheese and corn flavours... LOL
Hey guys Just so let you know, you can always heat up whatever you buy from the convenience store. There's always a microwave in the very back of the store. AWWW! WELL, AREN'T YOU THE CUTEST LITTLE EGGS WE'VE EVER SEEN! YES YOU ARE, YOU SWEET LITTLE THINGS YOU! I'M COMING TO EAT YOU, YES I AM!
lolololololololol
the last thing that you had was cheese flavored sausage i think ^^
Personely i love the tune triangle kimbap
Cheese sausage is not kinda typical cheese. just cheese flavor fish cake...or fish sausage.
wow thats cheap!
so are things over there cheaper or only depending on certain things
Haha Lol the eggs are actually boiled in soy sauce and/or tea water!
u should microwave those kimbap and hamburger. Also the eggs are smoked eggs! :)
Poor Martina kept getting the yucky ones! Here's a chocolate chip cookie for you! ((X*X))
