I completely feel you. I've known since I was little that I didn't want to go to extra school. I'm a writer and artist already-self-taught and I don't need people telling me what to do. I started college this year but am definitely not going ever again after this quarter. I hate it and it's not interesting to me. College is nothing special and I'm sick of people forcing kids to go into it.
steve b hahahah I won't be working at walmart, fool because I have goals for myself. You seem to be on that path yourself with how angry you sound. Hahaha Love it.
Senri I 100% with what you are saying I feel like my mom kind of forced me to be to college because after high school I didn’t want to go but I did anyway because I wanted to make her happy but in reality I wasn’t happy myself. But at the end of the day I’m older to make my own decisions and after in semester I’m not going back but I will find a way to be successful and I’m tired of people saying that we as young adults want be successful with i college degree that complete BS because their are plenty of entrepreneurs in this world who dont even have a college degree.
Sam Cummins see thats smart!!! If you tell a employer that he will be impressed. He will be like ok this guy can think he understands economics he actually has potential, and he can see risk and act accordingly. THATS WHAT EMPLOYERS WANT!!!! NOT YOUR DUMFUCK I have a peice of paper and im 100k in the hole. Why would i hire that. Natural selection
Good for you making the decision for yourself!! I agree that everybody thinks that is what you have to do after high school and it's not always the right thing. Especially when you don't know what you want to do. My son did one semester after high school and then lived out in the world and decided to go back at the age of 31 and ended up with two degrees!!! It was the right time for him. You will do what's best for you and not everyone needs to go on to college. God bless you honey.
LOL, it didn't cost us anything as he was 31 and our income was no longer an issue. He ended up with two very small student loans as he got one degree from a community college and another degree from ECU. Most all of it was paid by scholarships and grants as he carried a 4.0 each year. We would have paid, but it ended up we didn't have to.
My story. 19... Guess i should go to college 20 fuck this shit is expensive its a rip off im gonna drop out and invest my money, work and teach myself 21 22 23 24. My net worth is now 350k and my investments are projected to be 1.4 million by 28. (Yeah fuck college so i glad i dodged that bullet 😂)
Girlfriend yess!!!!!!! I totally agree with you!!! I dropped out my freshman year and I'm 20 and I still have no idea what the hell I want to do, I'm debating on going to beauty school because it's hands on and quick and I have Friends who went to beauty school and they found jobs right away because it's a trade and trades are always going to be needed, and I hated sitting in a classroom and tuition is going to keep getting higher and higher, and since I was at a community college they base your class placement on the ecompass test and ACT score, I had to take lower placed classes (even though I was an average student in high school) and the thing is is with community college and those lower placed classes is that they aren't transferable, you have to get up to a certain level for your classes to be transferable, and you still have to pay for them, so my thought was was "seriously???? The classes I'm taking aren't transferable and I still have to pay for them???" And the only way to get a higher placement in time is to retake the ecompass test, BUT you have to pay to take the test and in my freshman year I did not have a job and relied on financial aid and had a small loan (thank god it was small) because I was trying to be focused on my education, and college is stressful and I'm fickle, I have so many interests and I don't want to take these shitty classes that I most likely won't use in my job just to get to an advanced high degree, and I don't want to go into debt, I want to be happy, but the world is so competitive that it's harder these days to be happy, which sucks.
You're welcome and thank you. But unfortunately I'm disqualified for military service because of a condition that I had been diagnosed in the past. Yeah it sucks. But I decided that I want to learn a trade. I'm thinking of learning carpentry or masonry.
I'm really in this position right now. College is making me so unhappy and I don't want to go through it anymore but my parents insist upon it. I would rather be happy. thank you for this video
Girl I feel you! I got my associates (family made me go to school) went into my field and hated it (but did it for 3 years) finally last year I figured out what I wanted to do so ill finally be going to school for something that I want to do! I'm 25 now! and i'll be a junior (in credits) and cant wait to start school this fall (the debt scares me because I didn't need loans before and I have to go away to school). Did u ever decide what you wanted to do?
Can't believe you're also 19! I am too, and I'm just thinking about dropping out and if it's the right thing to do. But also scared of what will I do then
For anyone considering college, I'll give you a true gold nugget of FREE advice which l learned the hard way. Unless you can go to school debt free and get through school really fast, don't bother with college. Yes I said it. Pay cash or don't bother. Then get through school quickly. Fast, like really fast. If your unable to do both, don't go. If you can avoid the debt with scholarships or grants that's great but if you don't get through school fast, don't go. Trust you must do both. Even if you avoid the debt college will still not be worth it if you take too long to finish. Trust me, I Iearned all this the hard way. College might be a blessing if you avoid the debt and finish fast. Otherwise don't bother because it will hurt you. Yes believe it or not college can really hurt you if you don't listen to my advice. It's ok to go to college and if you do it right college might help you but if you do it wrong it can blow up in your face. Give yourself a chance and don't make the mistakes I made because college really hurt me. I borrowed for college and took way way way too long to finish. Don't let that be you.
I'm (was) an Aviation Flight Science Major. It wasn't for me. I'm more a Mathematics person :). I have a lot of respect for your decision. This is your life; YOU decide what's right for you, no one else.
Thanks for posting. After my last semester this past May I said to myself this is it I'm not a school person never really was and I'd rather go to work and save up and do whatever I want when I want. I felt more like a prisoner in Junior College and Trade School and I don't ever plan on going back and for the past almost 3 months I finally realized that school no matter whether it be a Trade School, Technical College, Junior College or a University just doesn't work for me period. Instead I'm a visual/hands on learner and a hard worker and self educator and I learn better this way instead of sitting down all day taking notes and listening to the professor talk but I'm like let's just get to the point and actually do what we're studying. I was going to school for culinary arts but I now realize that working in the restaurant and cooking on my own to side works better for me
I really like your video. I understand why you dropped out of college. I also used to go to college, but it was a community college. I wasn't really interested in any of the majors, so I didn't knew what I wanted to study. I always liked the U.S. military, so I'm planning on joining the armed forces instead.
+Robert Woods Thanks! I was afraid of making this video as not going to college isn't a popular decision by societies standards, but I'm so glad I did. It's nice knowing there are other people out there who can relate and good luck in the military! That's a brave decision to make!
I think Self Education is better it's free
steve b l'm doing pretty good
steve b I don't use no food stamps nor do I freeload

You rather work for a living than living under the government tit. I can understand that.
School is honestly a waste of time... I have no drive so im done with it
Yes! The pressure to go to college is insane. It's refreshing to see someone take their own path. You go girl and good luck!

yeah, you are partially right, but so as college.
@steve b You better humble yourself before you lose that 100k salary job.
I feel the same way.

just made the same decision! not worth the debt.

College - Money making machine.
Yep and they sure don't tell us how to manage our money only because they are taking our money and are putting it in their own pockets

I 100% agree, i went to university when i was 18 and now i don't even do anything with my degree and have £25,000 debt!!
Omg .. I feel so bad for you! I hope you're happy in what you're doing now, had I not left I'd probably be in the same situation here soon
I'm in and out of college myself. 2 weeks until I finish my phlebotomy course.. it's only 3 months lol.
This helped me so much ugh I'm in the same position like seriously... Can't find anything I'm super motivated to study to be
Preach😘😘
You know it's safe to be next to a window as long as there is no tornado or baseball sized hail outside right?
I want to make enough to buy my own college
Ms. Chelsea,
You can be an entrepreneur. you seem like a smart person.
"The world is your oyster" is my motto! Good for you!
