Yeah, fuck you for trying! This is not about the drawings, this is about the camera angles, zoom ins on his face and the giggles in the background

Enjoyed it for the most part... but some camera angles were really annoying to look at!
Fred Sig Karl is soo good !
Indeed! He's amazing!!
I can't agree more, I almost turned it off but instead I suffered through the nausea and dizzying editing cuts to get the small glimpses into the sketchbook and his words!
For real, just show the sketches
Oh! What a tradegy
I don’t know, can we get an even closer look at the artist’s faces when you do these?i can’t quite see all their pores.
ok most of the comments about the camera angles in all these videos were getting more annoying than the camera angles but this one was pretty funny 😆
😂😂😂😂
How people think artists come up with ideas: I did copious amounts of research to put a great amount of symbolism and detail into my artwork. Nothing is a coincidance, also here is a 10 page essay explaining the meaning of this piece.
Karl: Theres a "T" for truck cause he has a truck on his head
Omg I love him so much😂 we appreciate a legend

Still doesn’t mean they have no story to tell.
That's why he said it's a trap he falls into and is working on improving it
Konichiwa! And another man with an axe.
Always loved Karl's drawings but never realized that he was such a pleasant person to listen to. The man exudes some tranquil vibes.
Karl is an absolute gentleman. Always humble and encouraging, never forgets where he has come from and is the definition of "keepin' it real". And what a talent! Dead proud to have known you Karl! All good wishes. Miss the old days of chats in Reception and Bugmans! Craig - Ex-GW

You can't it, needs hundreds of hours and maybe thousands.
@@nantzstein3311 Maybe? 100% you need a few thousand hours to get to his level unless you're some sort of drawing God born to teach us plebs the ways of art.

You’ve made my day...
As a Native American, seeing someone that ISN'T American draw my race and have someone very close to them be interested in my race made me so happy. I never come across artists that draw my people.
I love doing native inspired characters! I mostly mix a bit of fantasy though like in many of my characters.
I was extremely fascinated by native Americans in my childhood. I had a small illustrated book about native Americans and i adored it!
I'm Greek btw
What about artists from your people?
Fechin did a whole series
5:02 lol l love such artist saying "Kawaii things.."
What's with the camera man? This is not a way to shoot a interview. Any ways this man is a beast with the pencil. His lines and details are beautiful.
This man is brilliant. Comes off as very genuine guy and his work is awesome.
The truth about me:
"you don't wanna practice, you just want to play minecraft..."😫
This is so god damn inspiring tbh I wish I had a dad like him
be the son then
' I have trouble with girl's faces'......sure dude lol
Christ, keep the damn camera still! Don't get me wrong, I love any content that depicts Karl drawing anything at all, but I don't wanna be seeing his pores and veins all the time while he's doing it.
Found a new art idol. To inspire my own art. He is incredible!
Dude: i have a son, he's very talented but he didn't want to practice because he keeps on playing Minecraft
That made me laugh

Although I love the creative angle shots sometimes it's hard to focus on the art pieces with constantly changing angles. you guys do do wide straight on shots but they are too short in my opinion. Longer straight on shots would be great!
so true, this is a frustrating video... like why are you changing angles every 3 seconds... why are you not focusing on the art, i dont need to see his face from 3 inches away lmao
I find this guy very cool. and also its pretty weird hearing laughs but no talking in the background imo. thanks for the vid
Interesting how he uses a woodless pencil for sketching. What an awesome artist with amazing skill. That's some art goals right there, man.
theyre great really, very soft and allow for much expression. use them all the time, but ur hands get really dirty after a while haha
Amazing guy, stunning work. Makes me feel like i'm drawing with a pencil trapped between the toes of my left foot.
Lol for real
I drag two dead people out of the fire
Girl in the background: hehehehehehe
Who else to start a sketchbook series with but the Karl Kopinski himself! I love his artwork since the day i discovered it, the inspiration and knowledge it gained me changed my own art and taught me to look at drawing from a different perspective.
Cant wait for more episodes!

If I could draw like that I would rarely be on this stupid phone.😀
Doug G it's very likely that the reason why you didn't start working towards that goal is due to the fact that you're too often on that stupid phone
João Rebocho OaW yes! But I think it’s because I’m always on that friken phone!
@@dougg1075 You'll never be this good because you don't see it within yourself its not the phone.

Is it weird how I'm most impressed by how clean he keeps his pages....I mean shit I like to eat! And all my sketch 📖's got a stain somewhere.

Artur Alves why don’t you draw pictures of dicks and other things YOU love then....
The giggles can appear a bit annoying but then one realises that she has got the guy to talk, consistently and intelligibly when all he wanted to do was sketch in silence....
It is pretty interesting to see that even older artists are still trying something out or figuring out how some tools work. That inspires me a lot to see artists who are not stuck in one style in particular. (I'm talking about the inking part he showed us...)
He’s right about drawing being like meditation...geez sometimes when I draw I fall asleep lol
you should draw more cause youre quite good
kopinski jr: minecraft go BRRR
8:43 I’m not feeling too well Mr. Stark
Holy sh!t that’s deep.. great observation skill 👌
Close up in his forehead, close up in his finger, close up in his nose, now the sketchbook upside down, and back to the forehead, close up in his bracelet, finally a glimpse of the drawing, woops, gonne again.... Christ, can't you fucking stop it with the camera?! I'd have loved to have just watched his drawings...
This guy is a monster and is funny to know that sometimes he still feel insecure with his amazing art. I think this is regular for all of us, artists. I loved this video. I wish I could be with him in his studio watching him drawing all day.
The girl is high or somtehing, she cannot contain herself, I am so annoyed. Its like whats so funny?
He is such a cool guy. I really admire him. He's extremely skilled and seems very humble.
Fantastic work , outstanding Sketchbooks! I love his humor haha he seems like such a down to earth guy
Does anybody know what sketch book he uses?! The paper looks so smooth and there aren’t any bindings to get in the way of my hands it looks so smooth too. I want it but I can’t seem to find anything like it anywhere! If anyone could tell me what it is I’d really appreciate it!!!
in a time of information overflow and me not knowing where to put myself in this world,
this video gives wonderful hints about life and art in an understandable and calming way
thank you karl kopinski i will never again stop drawing
"He doesn't wanna practice, he just wanna play minecraft" OMG I AM HIS SON LOL
I see so many comments about Karla or the camera looking at the artist etc but these videos are the most interesting videos to watch, they are so intimate, The little smirk an artist has as he views a piece about his son or the frustrated look they have as they notice a drawing they see all the things wrong with it. I connect with this so much, it's a small look into a part we never see with artists, usually a bunch of introverts but for a moment we get to see the beauty they see in their own work and also the constant stuggle they have too.
No chance of zooming out a bit? FFS. Stop with the weird camera angles? Hope they're not all like this. This guy is really talented and you pretty well crapped on it with the camera work.
Honest questions. Each page is super clean. How do the opposite pages not smudge? Is it the pencils he uses or the paper in the sketchbook.
"steampunk world where they grapple from buildings" - Someone wanna introduce this man to Attack on Titan?
BRO I've ALWAYS WANTED TO DRAW LIKE KIM JUNG GIIIII
Karl: I struggle with women faces, with hands...
Me: Heh?! I definitely want to struggle with faces and hands like you because now I can't even draw a stupid circle :)
Not be be overly critical but what the hell is this editing? The extreme close ups and focus sweeps are disruptive.
We want to see his sketches and hear him talk about them. You don't need to make a big artistic statement with the video making.
No one is going to watch this and say meh the subject is ok but the video editing was what made it worth the watch.
There is a time for artistic editing choices, but this isn't it.
This was so inspiring holy shit
“Don’t hurt me, I’ll draw!”
I also used to draw all the time in school. My teacher would rage at me, saying I would never amount to anything if i kept doing these useless drawings. Years and years later at a school reunion I showed her a conceptual design sketch and told her how many thousands of pesos I got paid per design. Sweet revenge!
It's always interesting how artists can be so different in their styles but think in almost the exact same way.
I wish to speak with him in person one day. He is really gorgeous and cool.
p.s: thank you for your filming but please show more of his art instead of his hands!
Very down to earth guy... interesting workshop last year at Schoolism Live London... You teach me to draw Karl and I'll teach you guitar... deal? ;)
i skipped through the video and every single shot was out of focus. what are they doing
girl in the back either was high af or shes crushing hard for Karl. shes literally laughing at everything he says
Please stop the irrelevant camera shots and focus on overhead of sketchbooks!
I've been following his art for so long! This is the first time i've heard him talk about his work and now I love it even more!
modern day master . lucky to be born in era of karl , kim and katsuya
"I bought the Kim Jung gi pen and I couldn't use it, so i got really frustrated"
story of all our lives
I think a lot of aspiring artists at one point believed that using Kim Jung gi pen will make them Kim Jung gi...
I loved Karl´s draws, but...
WTF? is the girl high or what? she doesn´t stop laughing
next time please keep silence
because she’s the interviewer
does anyone know what make of sketch books he is using? I love the size and colours
This is some really great shit.
It got me really inspired, I hope some day I'll get where he got. That is awesome, wow.
I think the video was as much about the artist as it was about the sketchbook. For those of you annoyed with the camera angles, they almost replicate the natural eyesight of the woman, with quick glances at certain aspects of the artist's character like his bracelets and the way he avoids eye contact. The video felt very human. Bravo.
I agree, 100% I love the little frequent laughters of his crush, remind me of...
this clip is very positive.
fair point... I think my main issue is with the close ups of the drawings on a strange slanted angle which recedes into blur rather than with aerial shots with maybe a slow pan that gives a clear close ups of the fine detailed sketches :/ very weird
what about his crush , laughing constantly. but then when I saw the crush video, doing presentation, I felt it was very cringy.. she just talk with many trashy expressions like wtf.. fu... shit.. etc.. felt so disgusted and left the video after the first 1 min.. some people think they are cool when they use these trashy expression. Cringy is a little word to express what it produces.. seems fake too.. but to each his own, and that is what I felt,
@@sutil5078 Karla is like this all the time, she is like a small bird full of energy.

Karl Kopinski - your my one of the favorite artist .
First time i've heard about Karl and seen his work. 😊Thank you. Now a big fan. Love his art, love his attitude. This vid is now bookmarked so i can come back and replay again and again.
He's super fun and personable. I wish I had an adult figure like him to his son growing up pushing me to draw more. I can't imagine not being inspired hanging around skill like his all the time.
Sounds like he's pulled that interviewer, giggling like a school girl😉
thats what shes like all the time, not just w him
your interviewer has a lot of mirth dont get me wrong the man had his English charm up but truly her laughter was getting up to hysterical levels.
Clicked on this by accident, yet was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the video quite a bit!
Man the art is on the page. Stop making art with the camera. Let us see what he's showing. It's very distracting
Well said. I was so annoyed when he would talk about this beautiful piece of art and all they would show is his hands.
watching this while looking at my sketchbook. Feels like torture
didnt realize this was an ASMR video of giggling in my ear.
Not trying to be a dick, just something to consider....like I feel like half of the stuff he said didn't warrant a laugh of any kind.
As much as I can appreciate a woman's laugh, having it on repeat for 23 minutes is honestly pretty annoying.
2nd time watching & enjoyed it as well as the 1st time!
It really would be more helpful if you had focused a bit more on the piece he was drawing. As a director you have to know what substantial thing is your subject. Respect the craft of your interviewee.
Mick Jaggers son?
does mick jaggers real name russian or east euro too?, if so it explain the look alike .
