I have been wishing this for a while, but it won't be any time soon. Duolingo is doing all they can to get a little bit of Navajo. Those lessons are currently still very short. And I think Navajo is the largest North American Native language.

David Martens Yes indeed! They already have Navajo ( the most spoken indigenous language in America) but I feel Cherokee would be a wonderful thing to add on!

So teach us, it isn't in our schools, my grandmother didn't speak it, why isn't our language taught in our public schools our languages should be taught we teach other languages, we know food words not how to carry a conversation, 😢. I can survive physically but my languages I don't know, 💔 I'd love for it to be taught in our schools.

I agree. High schools offer Spanish and French- I feel native languages should be offered- ESPECIALLY in areas with Native American kids.

My ancestors language was ripped from us. They gave us English instead.

Stop being a victim and pick up a book and learn it as I did. My entire family has learned Cherokee now.

@@MelungeonpeopleIts pain that you hear....not wallowing. Yes education is key...but not with a harden heart...much like deaf ears...when the heart is hard and unyielding...nothing can
      get in...😑
