Steve, I am in the same job as you were. Went through a tough time, started drinking and lost everything. Family, house, self-respect. I ended up living in a damp infested flat. I am now four months sober and your videos inspire me to keep going.
Thanks Russ… have the job intervened at all mate? Well done 4 months sober 👍

Merry Christmas everyone and a peaceful new year.

You too leslie x❤
Alcohol is an evil friend that comes round to play, then robs us of all that we own.
Hi Steven I am a binge drinker and I am going through now exactly what you talked about but I an tapering off at the moment supping I can of cider starting at 11pm at night I am eating well as well so I should be off the alcohol by Friday..
Happy Christmas eve, eve Steve....from what i know and see, an alcoholic doesn't have real friends, simply drinking buddies and when the going gets tough they simply disappear...🙏
Very true Nikki, had my drinking buddies been real friends they would’ve supported my attempts to get sober but they didn’t. Only my family, my ex and my neighbours stood by me.
No support is what my so called drinkers gave me Zero ..
100 💯 100 %
❤️
I've also visited that abyss Steve, even though it was a living hell I know I'm just one can away from being teleported back. Thank you for your highly relatable videos.
Hi …Really good message this ..” one can away “
Sums up everything perfectly

I have a very difficult elderly relative for Christmas but I will not relapse …
I can do this, I’m strong and sober.
My sobriety has given me everything 🙏🏻
Hi Steve, luckily, I stopped the booze before it got to a really bad stage. I binged a few times in the last 7/8 years. It's such a sad existence, but until we break that cycle, we don't realise the damage we are doing to ourselves & others. Hope you're well, Steve 👍
Hi Chris you are right…we have to break that cycle of destruction ❤️
Excellent message today Steven, thank you. The community appreciates all the time and effort and care you are putting into your very helpful videos. Merry Christmas Steven 🎄🎅 ❤
Merry Christmas 🎅 Micky thank you for your support 👍
Thanks
Hi Conor, thank you so much for this wonderful gesture of support which will help me to keep producing valuable content to help the many people who are struggling with Alcohol. ❤️
Happy Christmas Steven!
Good video, Steven. I retired in 1996, and up until retirement, I was well on the way to
having a problem with alcohol. I was drinking heavily every night. I used to buy a half
bottle of Vodca and drink it at home. I was hiding these bottles before and after use.
I decided enough was enough and stopped what I was doing. At that stage, I honestly
didn't think I had a problem with alcohol because I was able to stop what I was doing.
But I know damn well I had been very close to becoming an alcoholic.
Fast forward to 2024, and I am healthy and well. I can have a couple of pints at my
local, and not feel the need to go on drinking. I am able to have drinks with family at
gatherings, and not need to go on!
I just wanted to pass my experience on to others on the channel, to help people see
they MAY have a looming problem.
Thank you so much for sharing this …it will be shared widely ❤️
@@roytetwart Cheers Roy merry Christmas 🤶
So glad you made it out of there Steve. Listening to this I can feel the loneliness and the desperation, and the sadness in particular - I don't know what it is about alcohol but when I drink on my own I do feel incredibly sad and tearful. The evenings are the worst by far - I don't generally drink til the evenings but I have so many days when I feel just awful all day from the night before. By the time it gets to about 6 or 7 I'm going out to get a bottle of wine to repeat the whole process again. Crazy making.
Hi it’s a wicked substance when it gets a hold 👍
Hi I know the routine very well. Hope you can break the cycle I'm working on it
@@jcw7223 Hi mate, thanks for the message. Breaking the cycle is absolutely the key isn't it. All we can do is keep working on it eh. Best wishes to you.
I’ve just sent you an email. You’re a good and honest guy it seems to me. I’m 63 and drank from 1973 onwards with periods of sobriety and a successful job… until the end. I appreciate your videos. “ Silvo”
There was a young lad I was at Uni with. He would tell his parents he was heading out on a Saturday night, instead he sat in his room, in the dark, in silence drinking.
He was only 20 at the time.
Horrendous.. how it gets to you
@stevencurry215 Nearly 30 years later I still remember it. He dropped out and was never seen again, I always wondered what happened to him.
@@lrdisco2005 yes I wonder what ever has happended to the 100s and 100s of people I have met in recovery over the last 16 years
Thanks Steven you inspiration to keep away from alcohol helped loads recently thankyou hope have great xmas
Very insightful Steven.
Cheers Edward 👍
Very important advice, thank you.
LBC is the REM of radio talk shows, enough to turn anyone to drink! Giving that up will improve your mental health even more.
I don’t listen these days 👍
I wish you a Very Happy Chrimbo Pal,and all the Best for the New Year m8y..X
wise words mate

Only an alcoholic will ever understand just how dark and scary those long lonely nights are.
I see you're at 8k now. As I said, the more you have, the more you get. Looking forward to the next post.
Thank you … 🙏 we get 10k end January perhaps …you were spot on about the growth of the channel 👍
@@stevencurry215 It's just that way with everything. Money and respect or hatred and division.
going on social media like Facebook when you're feeling bad and lost in life through alcohol is more torture..it escalates the depression as you start judging yourself against others but it's true to force yourself to eat and exercise like even a simple walk every day you hear folk saying it takes months, etc to get better but it doesn't..a week of taking the simple steps without alcohol makes a massive difference
Another very educational video Steven. I enjoy listening to your stories from your previous life. Keep up the good work 👏
