We bought Haval Jolion hybrid three month ago. So far it was a great journey. In average we use 6L/100 km. It drives really smooth and I was surprised by its dinamics. Adjusting volume is no big deal. Driver have buttons on the steering wheel and passenger can use multimedia, so you don't need to be distructed while driving. I found multimedia easy to use and its quality is very high. It is resposive and resolution is so good. I have bad eye sight so good screen is a big deal for me. Also you get used to shifting gears, you can feel each turn so no problem at all. Overall it is a great family SUV. I would recommend hybrid over petrol version just because it is so much nicer to drive. Very quiet, music is great, better dynamics from zero and overall it is more comfy, although it is more expensive. Also headlights are so bright, big difference from my previous car. Lots of safety features like emergency braking which already saved us on parking lot and roads couple of times. Also blind spot control proved to be a nice helper. And I love 360 camera! We have small garage and it just so much easier to park with 360 view although it doesn't have auto parking option. Boot is small but sufficient for grosaries and shopping, we even managed to go camping with all our staff packed in it. Overall I would totally recommend haval jolion, great car for its price. I was thinking to buy Kia Seltos originally but didn't have all of these features and was not hybrid at that price point. The only thing I would fix is steering wheel depth adjustment, but I believe they added it in 2024 version. It is ok but would be easier to drive if I could bring streering wheel closer to me. Other than that and small trunk there is not much negatives to jolion. Good job #Haval!
6L is true numbers, the figures they give vs petrol will be blown out of figures, remember these can get 5-6L in hesvy city driving where as petrol will easily hit to 10l or so @kemalcanocak
Some people have gotten around 7.0L/100km on average so to get 5.0L/100km is excellent and right on the money for the segment. The Lux spec is an absolute steal at thirty six thousand dollars including on road costs with inflation driving the prices of vehicles higher after years of COVID related issues. Well done GWM HAVAL the Jolion Hybrid is a fantastic SUV for the money even with a few niggling issues such as not being able to turn off some safety features permanently and the gear selection dial issue. I would like to see some sort of fabric inserts in the middle of the seats but generally the interior and exterior styling are excellent without any strange styling elements unlike some of the competition a big thumbs up from me. A great SUV and well suited to use as the family chariot with the rotary dial obviously needing work and the overall performance and economy able to be improved by increasing the engine capacity to 1.8 litres. I hope they do a utility vehicle or a small truck with a similar drivetrain for Australia. 😎🇦🇺👍
I tend to rag on this car unnecessarily but I do try to keep an open mind. You can tell the Jolion is popular for good reason, and the hybrid really solves a lot of the problems of the regular ICE version too. Thank you for the review!
im guessing the lane keeping assist will not grab the steering back IF you use signal when you change lanes, which is suppose to be done, isnt it? use the signal when changing lane perhaps?
the base model called "premium" is way cheaper and has everything you need. including the turbo engine, traffic sign recognition with speed alert, adaptive cruise control, and 7 speed auto. To compare it to the MG, compare the middle of the range model, the "lux" with the 2nd top MG the "excite" (which also has the turbo engine) for about 3 grand more than the lux and about 6 grand more than the premium jolion
Rented a Jolion for a month and at first really made me consider if I should get one myself. I have a new Lexus suv back at home but I was truly surprised at how premium the Haval felt. It's not too far behind my Lexus when it comes to creating a premium atmosphere inside the cabin. Of course my Lexus feels much more premium if you start to feel around carefully, but the Haval is almost half the price. But soon after driving I started to feel that the devil really was in the details. The touchscreen controls are a nightmare especially while driving. Now I'm still young, in my 30s and I'm very tech savvy, but this car had me up in fumes when it came to trying to control the different settings. The infotainment screen responds worse than a cheap $100 ripoff smartphone. It always lags and often just doesn't respond at all. Also the radio suddenly just turns on by itself. I thought maybe these were specific problems with this rental car so I looked it up but it seems to be a fairly universal problem with Haval cars. Also when parking the sensors are a bit glitchy and once it suddenly emergency braked unnecessarily, causing me to scratch the car (I'm a careful and avid driver and have never scratched or crashed a car my whole life with over 15 years of driving experience). The car drives really well though. Responds fairly quickly and don't really have much to complain. The autodrive works mostly well but it's prone to responding with jerks here and there. I did use it quite often but it always kept me on edge as I could never trust it fully. Always had my foot over the brakes in case I had to manually intervene. Overall, the fundamental car itself was enjoyable to drive, but all the glitchy mess that it comes with (mainly the infotainment and the sensors) was what ultimately turned me off. If they can fix these issues, then it'll be a pretty decent car especially at this price.
Being over 60, I could not do without dials. I also wear long distance glasses for driving, so to use this tech pad for all adjustments while driving will be challenging for my eyes!
Wait, base model is 26 drive away and this 41. That’s 15 grand more to save something like 500L of fuel per year for most people, which is less than $1,000. You’d be ahead simply investing that $15,000 and still have the capital, not burning it in depreciation. Hybrid is a mugs game 🤷♂️
I'm from South Africa, I have a Havel Jolion Hybrid 🎉 Love my car!!! BUT A BIG BUT!!! Is The volume button. My Bluetooth won't auto connect and dealers can't fix it. But otherwise I love my car
Vinylly seats ?? GWM never tried to claim they were leather but still better quality then the horrible plastic feeling Toyota vinyl seats The haval name in seats has now been removed in new models The lka is not violent at all just another reviewer exaggerating , feeling a vibration in your wheel if u get to close to the line is nothing to complain about The slowing down using cruise is only a few kms on bends and this is mainly because if you have lane centre if on when adaptive cruise is on it knows u should skis down in a bend to stay centred I use cruise everyday and no problems at all Have had zero issues with this car. Quiet smooth responsive zippy with great fuel economy The rotary shifter fuse lock into d n and r and it does not free spin Also swiping right on screen to adjust seat heating volume etc fir passenger is very simple and driver has volume control on wheel anyway so not worth worrying about
Lol yeah it's bit of a strange review after three months of having one, ive got one and it's all good. I feel like he was handed a piece of paper the night before and told what to say.
Already starting to see so many on the road. This is the new go-to car for Uber drivers and Amazon courier drivers, overtaking the previous champ, the Camry.
@@wcrash9361 It's an anecdote, not an objective fact. Personal experiences may differ and that's okay, that's the nature of life. I do personally see these on the road all the time at least. I imagine ones used for rideshare and delivery would be more basic models rather than this top-spec one.

The Jolion is still very average overall. Not what I'd call inspiring . My previous 2022 Diesel VW Tiguan did about 1300 km to a tank , 400km further than the Jolion give or take . My current Touareg does close to that but admittedly has a 90 litre tank .
No comparison, the Tiguan is riddled with issues . A Touareg is no comparison because u solid for fuel for those extra kms in the hybrid u don’t and your getting 3-400 kms extra in top of the standard jolion

I had the 2023 version of this car - not EV. Honestly I was hesitant at first too but it drives great and never had any problem. Also, servicing was really good. Of course this depends on the service centre but you're treated like a premium customer. You also feel safe driving it due to the size. The only bug bear I had was the cruise control. have you guys had any issues?
exactly. as a driver, you should be able to do it from the steering wheel, rather than the central display
isn't a bit alot compared to non-hybrid model? Saving 2lt per 100 seems to me does not worth to buy hybrid considering paying 10k more

The volume is on the steering wheel! How can you have the car for that long and not know that?
