Possibly my favourite Pavement tune, here's my cover of Grounded from their 3rd album, Wowee Zowee. It did take a minute to work out Malkmus' funky tuning and guitar parts, so here's as close as I could get to the recorded version.

You nailed it. This the third different tuning online I have found. Did you try the Slaytracks one (Side?) (DAC#G#BD) or SlackerVK (DBC#G#AD) before you decided on this tuning? Is it the harmonics you hear that makes that 6th sting e?

I'd say both are probably right. It's like double drop d variation with the fourth string flattened and third string sharpened. Although here this guy sharpened the 3rd string only in drop d. It sounds true enough to the original anyways.
