I love historical fiction and thought I’d recommend Jennifer Chiaverini to you. She wrote an older series on quilts that was just excellent. I love that young people(although you are an adult, I am decades older) have discovered all types of stitchery. I picked cross stitch back up during lockdown since I have to touch fabric to buy it and shops were closed. It is an addictive, and so is flosstube. I enjoyed watching you!

I will definitely check her out, thank you for the recommendation! And I love it too, there's a surprisingly large community of younger stitchers and it's so great to see that I'm not just an oddball!💜

Belated welcome to FlossTube. Great job with your first video! I am amazed by your projects given you are new stitcher; however, your having mastered other crafts certainly gave you the foundation needed to master this one. Your projects are lovely. I am in the Midwest and have been stitching (embroidery, crewel, needlepoint and cross-stitch) for over 25 years. I have 16 projects on the go. My focus piece is Jean Farish's "America, Land that We Love, " but I was working on a modified version of Long Dog Samplers' "Pandemic" while watching your video. @@TheMuseumStitcher I have only so much time in this life span before my eyes and hands can complete all the beautiful projects in my collection - so sometimes, I select a section of a pattern and stitch that section as a "small" with or without a border (modified for the new size, of course) of the original pattern. In that way I get the satisfaction of having worked on at least a part of the pattern which I then put in my projects album or "fully finish" it in a frame for display on my mantle.

G'day from Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺. I stitched on Hive Rules while you kept me company. I'm a huge reader, but not an audio book girl- in fact the only books I've listened to are a couple of Corey Taylor's, & I tend to get lost in his voice, so I've had to start over & over again. 😜 I started with embroidery & crochet in my early teens, with cross stitch coming along later. Sewing machines scare me, so quilting will never be my thing. I really like your WIPs so far, but you really need more to make WIPGO more interesting lol!

Welcome to flosstube! I'm in in DFW too. Nice to put a face to a fellow stitcher. I get the Into the Woods autoshipped too and still haven't started lol Still not sure about fabric. I want each season on the same color but there are so many good options.

I'm still having fabric indecision anxiety about the fabrics for the other animals in the series😂 I just loved the fox so much I had to put in a few stitches!

I'm so glad I discovered your channel! I'm pretty new to stitching too, and absolutely love to read. Outlander is just to die for, I really need to do some Outlander and ACOTAR stitching.

Aww, thank you!! You know, I really want to stitch something ACOTAR, but I haven't had any luck finding any that I like! Maybe one day I'll have to design something lol

Great 1st video! Loved it. Beautiful WIP parade! I didn’t see anyone else give you a suggestion so here’s mine. I usually use a Piecemakers 26 needle for 36 count linen. Since I started using 40 count, I was having a very hard time getting under the threads when burying the ends. Switched to 28 needle! Walah!

Thanks for watching! I appreciate the suggestion, I'm already using a size 28 needle though lol. Those 32 count 1 over 1 stitches are so much smaller than 1 over 2 on 40 ct! I will definitely look into that brand though, I've been having a hard time finding a new favorite needle after size 28 Pat Carson needles went out!

Love from Australia 💜 So lovely to meet you! I’m glad RUclips suggested your channel to me, off to catch up on the other couple you have available 💜 I’m so glad my cat isn’t like a standard, she shows no interest in my stitching, unless it is taking attention away from her. I agree, I love listening to audio books and podcasts while stitching. You have so many beautiful project bags and wips.

Hi Tess, welcome! I've loved reading all of your comments this morning, they are so incredibly kind!! My cats are usually fine once I'm settled and stitching, its just the prep that they love getting into lol!
