@23:29 you cast Sea Gate Oracle and then with the trigger on the stack, cast Meeting of Minds. Is there a reason why to do it that way rather than just cast MoM, have it resolve, cast SGO?
With zero cards in hand they couldn't stop me. I had 2 familiars in play so flicker is U to cast. Flicker on mancer and island is an infinite Mana neutral loop and gives infinite trigger on faithful
Thoughts on Stonehorn Dignitary as sideboard? With fams on table seems like a very cheap option for lock combat vs some aggro decks untul you control the game.
What do you think of Distant Melody (elves mechanic) with so many humans in the deck? Id also like to ask you if this spell would work with Mystic's Bird illusions? Thanks ❤
@@coborodrii I think that would probably be worse than the current options but I'm not sure. Fams draws a ridiculous amount already. What are you going to cut?
@@kalikaiz Yeah, makes sense! I was just wondering if you have a couple of creatures in play, you don't have to tap them like in Meeting of Minds, and you can therefore block and gain some tempo while defending later. But maybe more rng that way, sure.

Hey, man! I’m sitting pauper seat for a team trios tournament this weekend. I’ve been staying flexible with my options while still practicing and studying the meta. If you had to suggest one deck to play with, what would you say? Thanks in advance!
It seems like the three best decks are affinity, broodscale, and mono red and then the rest of the pack moves around whatever the 4th best deck is of the week
@@kalikaiz thank you for that! I was really between ponza, affinity and mono red for a bit. White weenie and broodscale combo were considered options. I ultimately decided mono red because its win rate is good against affinity. Any particular list you like? Thank you again, you’re the best pauper creator on here!
@@nfgperez thank you! I haven't been too focused on how the mono red builds are playing out lately. I would just choose one that is very no-nonsense and streamlined. Checking the challenge postings and leagues on mtggoldfish maybe :)

@@kalikaiz I like that oracle and augur make your mono red matchup better, but in my testing that matchup has seemed close to free either way so I don't want to make the deck worse just to beat mono red even harder. The 4 preordain 4 impulse 3 modern age plan comes from my experience that winning most matchups comes not from having purely more permanents or cards in hand than opponent, but just drawing the right cards in the right order. I want to counter spell and charm my way to the late game, and then once we are in the board state where we both have 5 lands in play 2-3 cards in hand, I trust the deck to be structurally favored from that position either mancer -> counter spell locking them or going for the combo against interactive decks.
That leads to the last point where I value the looting and later 2-3 body of the drifter, but I think having a 4 mana sorcery stuck in hand is just too often game losing. I think you could get away with a DA but the modern age is just good enough on its own.
