Another wish-list build I'd have for you would be the Alpha-Class Gunboat from all the old Star Wars Flight Sims. That one has a forgiving polygonal fuselage, fins, warhead launchers, and engine nacelles. Think of an Imperial Il-2 Sturmovik, it was a flying tank.
Neat little fighter you made there my dude! Giving off strong viper (BSG) vibes, but with a neat twist. I love that you build mostly with Styrene, though that can get a little flat unless you layer on various thicknesses and sizes of panels. Love the gentle curve you gave the nose section. I saw the PDF on Etsy before I noticed the new vid, stupid YT notifications. Got to say once again you do NOT dissappoint. I saved them to my cart and will purchase them soon. Keep on keeping on!!
Viper vibes as others have said. I made a cardboard viper when i was 11yr old, so based on the original bsg because that was my favourite tv show in 1981 😊 Your work inspires me to get back into modelling. Use to use parts from different kits to make all sorts of cool vehicles. 😊 Thanks for your channel. Great fun 👍
The ship is incredible. Love seeing those details come out. By any chance, would you have any interest in doing a video more thoroughly detailing the initial design process? It's one space that feels like there aren't a lot of people talking about it, especially in the context of making actual miniature THINGS from the designs.
Well this is cool as heck. Hope we get to see more original designs in the future, freighters and cruisers and big things in small scale. Actually just picked up a cutter machine because my hands shake too much to cut these out. Uhm, have you considered a discord or mastodon? Unfortunately my old butt doesn't really partake in the Zuckbook or the Tweets.
I noticed that you cut out the little notches in your details panels by hand. I've seen some videos from Adam Savage where he and other modelers use what they call "nibblers" that just cut the whole notch out at once. Might be something worth looking into! Thanks for another cool video!
@@Sublight_DriveI believe it is for "exo-atmospheric flight" (going from space to atmosphere and back to space)...at least that's what a nerd told me once. 👀😬
Yeah, I think I still have a few of those under/behind the couch from when my daughter had a bucketfull fifteen or so years ago. Which isn't surprising, those things get everywhere, except we moved house a couple years ago. 🤔😲😕
I want to start making this, as it is awesome. I have a basic question. In my country I only get polystyrene. Is it the same material as Styrene? Thanks in advance
I got most of mine from an industrial plastic supply place. I had to hunt around before I found a place that would sell me just one 6’ by 8’ sheet lol. Most had a minimum order of like a hundred.
OK, so... A camera's autofocus is looking for the amount of detail it can see, it assumes the most complicated thing will be what you want in focus. Hands are amazingly complicated. I think if you opted to wear black gloves that'd stop being so much an issue. Being a modelling and painting channel it feels a little churlish to mention, this is not the most original design in the universe. I mean, GL kinda locked in utilitarian universe fighters, so, not a biggy. Are ye no getting close to the point where you wanna have a stab at interiors? Oh, and, superglue is not good for stollypyrene. One thing you might wanna try is punching a bunch of holes through the big piece where the little piece goes and cementing through those as well as the edges. Not to mention you can paint cement on the whole smaller piece, you don't have to use the capillary dropper doodad whatsit thingy for everything. nice little build, though, as always
Infinitely more satisfying than any asmr video
Always a pleasure to watch you build!
Really cool! I'd be very interested to see a video of your Affinity designer work making templates. That's a big gap in my knowledge.
You're so organized 😅 this ship is super cool and the paint job is 👌
The illusion of me being organized is the biggest bit of editing magic in this entire video
@@Sublight_Drive 🤣
I really like that. reminds me of a viper. well done!
WOw Awesome Ship. Thx for sharing with us.
If Carrol Shelby designed space fighters in the 24th century!!! Love it buddy! you did a great job!
Excellent build. Looks great 👍
LETS GO, NEW FULL LENGTH VIDEO! Building one of your Atlas Haulers as a birthday gift for a friend, i'm loving it so far.
Hell yeah cousin. Glad you’re having fun with it.

Outstanding work! Thanks for sharing this.

Glad you enjoyed it! I always love hearing when I’ve inspired someone to get into (or back into) modeling.
The polygonal nature of this fighter reminds me of the Pyro GK strike fighter from Descent 1-3. I miss old PC games sometimes...
A truly awesome build!!!
Love the results!!! ❤😊❤
I'd love to see your take on a Z-95 Headhunter from the Star Wars Universe.
Amazing video, please keep up the great work!

Battlestar Galactica just rang they said they want their ship back.....😊

This reminds me of the ship in the old game Descent.
Symetrical AND the same on both sides...Hilarious!😂😂😂😂😂

This is a hood prototype for a toy that could be mass produced.
Dry cool stuff. Gives me a ton of inspiration 🙌
Now dis is pawd racin!
That is indeed a wooshable-ass ship
I wonder if one of those vinyl cutters like a Cricut could be used to design and cut out the styrene?
I never understood why the Viper fighters has an open nose and air intakes on their engines. Always seemed odd for a spafecraft.
Nice build.
It’s for the space air

This reminds me of a starfighter space pirates would fly in TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance. I can't remember the model number. JL19?
very interesting, I didn't understand how you build 3D modeling templates?
Man, throwback to K'nex.
I’ll sacrifice a thousand K’nex if it means achieving my goals

This s great. Is there going to be more plans for different ships?
Amazing video as always. Any plans to build a bad guy looking fighter now that you have built a good guy fighter?
I might have to, now
Just found your channel and you came out with a new vid! Amazing work! What is the brand of your concept art markers ?
All my sketches are done in pencil. I was fighting with the white balance so they look a little bluish but they’re just regular graphite.
I want to start making this, as it is awesome. I have a basic question. In my country I only get polystyrene. Is it the same material as Styrene? Thanks in advance
Yep, those are the same material. It’s also sometimes branded as plasticard.
sometimes called High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS)
Thanks for the answers. Next step for me is to buy the plasticard and templates. 🖖
Where do you get your styrene?
I got most of mine from an industrial plastic supply place. I had to hunt around before I found a place that would sell me just one 6’ by 8’ sheet lol. Most had a minimum order of like a hundred.
Subbed for more woosh
We woosh here
