Another wish-list build I'd have for you would be the Alpha-Class Gunboat from all the old Star Wars Flight Sims. That one has a forgiving polygonal fuselage, fins, warhead launchers, and engine nacelles. Think of an Imperial Il-2 Sturmovik, it was a flying tank.

Neat little fighter you made there my dude! Giving off strong viper (BSG) vibes, but with a neat twist. I love that you build mostly with Styrene, though that can get a little flat unless you layer on various thicknesses and sizes of panels. Love the gentle curve you gave the nose section.
I saw the PDF on Etsy before I noticed the new vid, stupid YT notifications. Got to say once again you do NOT dissappoint. I saved them to my cart and will purchase them soon.
    Keep on keeping on!!

Viper vibes as others have said. I made a cardboard viper when i was 11yr old, so based on the original bsg because that was my favourite tv show in 1981 😊
Your work inspires me to get back into modelling. Use to use parts from different kits to make all sorts of cool vehicles. 😊
Thanks for your channel. Great fun 👍

The ship is incredible. Love seeing those details come out. By any chance, would you have any interest in doing a video more thoroughly detailing the initial design process? It's one space that feels like there aren't a lot of people talking about it, especially in the context of making actual miniature THINGS from the designs.

Well this is cool as heck. Hope we get to see more original designs in the future, freighters and cruisers and big things in small scale. Actually just picked up a cutter machine because my hands shake too much to cut these out. Uhm, have you considered a discord or mastodon? Unfortunately my old butt doesn't really partake in the Zuckbook or the Tweets.

I noticed that you cut out the little notches in your details panels by hand. I've seen some videos from Adam Savage where he and other modelers use what they call "nibblers" that just cut the whole notch out at once. Might be something worth looking into! Thanks for another cool video!

    • @Sublight_Drive

sometimes called High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS)

I got most of mine from an industrial plastic supply place. I had to hunt around before I found a place that would sell me just one 6’ by 8’ sheet lol. Most had a minimum order of like a hundred.

  • @Belzediel
    @Belzediel Год назад +2

    OK, so...
A camera's autofocus is looking for the amount of detail it can see, it assumes the most complicated thing will be what you want in focus. Hands are amazingly complicated. I think if you opted to wear black gloves that'd stop being so much an issue.
Being a modelling and painting channel it feels a little churlish to mention, this is not the most original design in the universe. I mean, GL kinda locked in utilitarian universe fighters, so, not a biggy.
Are ye no getting close to the point where you wanna have a stab at interiors?
Oh, and, superglue is not good for stollypyrene. One thing you might wanna try is punching a bunch of holes through the big piece where the little piece goes and cementing through those as well as the edges. Not to mention you can paint cement on the whole smaller piece, you don't have to use the capillary dropper doodad whatsit thingy for everything.
nice little build, though, as always
