Yay! Just in time for the Man With The Golden Tent
Haha 😁👍⛺️
Excellent, yet again Dave. Your ability to cope with these conditions is commendable. You give very sound advice about using your equipment, and being totally prepared for any eventuality that you expect in those conditions. I am always interested to note what the weight of your pack is on each expedition. The structure of your videos is always well thought through and a little farewell scene in the end, which I’ve said before, works extremely well. So thanks for your effort you put in these videos together, because they help take those of us who cannot make it to the hills, especially in those conditions. Take care.
Big thanks John. I very much appreciate your thoughts and comments, as always. Best wishes and take care 🙏🏻
I echo your sentiments John, now I'm no longer able, Dave takes us there with him and I know I feel part of his adventures
nice little bimble and wild camp. snacking game is good and views astounding.
Haha. Nice one Alan 😁👍. ATB
Another excellent winter video.
Glad you enjoyed it Grant 😎👍
Excellent as always pal...proper cold mountain conditions but that sun warms the soul don't it..the pleasure dome looks well against those back drops too 👌 take care pal see thi soon.
Cheers pal. Was a bloody freezing one that. Always worth it tho 🙏🏻. ATB
Spectacular as always. 🎉
Cheers Liz 😎👍
Great film and a great unspoilt valley to boot. Thankyou
Superb as per usual Dave. Your VLOG is always top of my list for viewing. Informative, professional and inspirational. Can't thank you enough🏞️👍
Much appreciated Ray 🙏🏻
Excellent as always Dave👌 spectacular views and blummin love that tent 😍
Thanks Val. Aye, tent is a belter 😎⛺️👍
Caw that looks great!
Haha. It was Graham 😁👍
Lovely pitch that Dave, nice quick after-work wander and camp. Things like that are what makes life worth living. The allak looks a mighty fine tent. Keep wandering and stay safe. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Big thanks 🙏🏻
Another interesting video. Great scenery and I bet it was worth the cold and windy weather overnight for the lovely sunrise!
Aye. It’s always worth it Liz. Glad you enjoyed it 😎👍
Another great video. You’re by far my favourite RUclipsr, keep it up!!
Wow, thanks! 🙏🏻
Beautiful sunrise you’ve got yourself a new subscriber great video mate all the best for your upcoming adventures john from Sheffield South Yorkshire England Great Britain
Nice one John. Many thanks 🙏🏻
Well done Dave, another cracking video. 360 degree views, excellent 👍👏👏👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it Dave 😎👍
Hi David, caw fell from wainwright's outlying fells book 8 just supered group of hills not as popular as the main wainwright's summits excellent video fantastic scenery I liked these group of hills how quite they were looking forward to the next video
Cheers Philip 👍
Living in Haslingden I am only too familiar with cold but I have to put an extra sweater on watching your videos. 😂
Haha. Know what you mean 😁🥶👍
Awesome again Dave. So great to see unfamiliar corners of the Lakes! Can’t wait for the next one 💪
Big thanks Jonathan. Glad you enjoyed it 😎👍
Another superb video, Dave. I knew where you were going from the start! I love Duddon valley, although the last time I climbed it, it was from the other side to reach the start of the quarry zigzags and it was a scorching hot day. It's a cracking wee hill, always so quiet and the views are superb. Those old tracks for the quarry are fascinating. You probably couldn't see it in the snow but the edges of the tracks are propped up with quarried stone. Caw is indeed cor... sorry, it had to be said! Although I'm not sure you're allowed on Caw fell with a milk chocolate Bounty... Lovely shots of the atmospheric sunrise, despite the wind. That side you came down is a tricky one - it's a bracken fest in the summer and tricky underfoot in the winter as it's in the shade most of the time and the terrain is quite tiring. It was lovely to see a familiar hill again. Look forward to the next one.
Bloody hell, Irene. You’re a legend. Thanks for the great info again. Always learning, me 🙏🏻
PS - dark chocolate Bounty is still soooo wrong 😆
@@TheSoloSummiteer Thanks, Dave, but you're the legend and an inspiration, you nutcase! 🤣 I love learning about the whole thing, everything from the scenery, the wildlife and flora, the geology, why the landscape looks the way it does, and the human history that's influenced it, good and bad. It just seems to add up to a complete package, if you know what I mean. That whole Coniston / Duddon area is really good for old mines and workings and you can imagine how different it looked back then. And I hate to break it to you, but it may not be a Wainwright but it's a Birkett! So that's another list, Mr Accidental Bagger! 😇🤣If you see a mad woman waving a Bounty bar in a red wrapping at you one day up a hill, you'll know who it is...
I was looking at my OS app trying to work out where you were and had incorrectly guessed Whit Fell. Nice to see you exploring new fells Dave. Thanks as always and good luck building your channel.
Nice one Jon. Many thanks 👍
Perfect Dave, nothing like a bit of solitude. Perfect weather for this one. I'm looking forward to your next adventure.
Thanks Gary 😎👍
Brilliant video and scenery this is very nearly on my doorstep and one I will put on my list. Due to your videos I am now doing a navigation/map reading course so that I can get out and see what you see, may even take some bounties!!!!
That’s brilliant. Nice one 👍
Another top video Dave and the views from a different angle was cool.
Cheers Barry 👍
Beautiful sunrise Dave. Well filmed. Gives me a mid week boost!
Glad you enjoyed it Stan 😎👍
Another great video, Dave. Don't like to upset you, but Caw is an Outlying Wainwright 😂
Ah, right. I really don’t take it too seriously as you know 🥴😁👍
Another great video Dave 😊 Thanks for sharing..
Big thanks 🙏🏻
You’re an absolute machine Dave ! Great vid. Nearly stacked it at the start 😂 it is unreal how quick the weather changes up in the fells
Cheers Howard. I know 🥶🥴😁👍
Great video Dave in cold 🥶 conditions- would you be able to list and leave a link to the clothing you use - your base layer thermals and the black hoody you was wearing?
Thanks 👍🏻
Stunning Dave, as always! Amazing sunrise; we’re so privileged, aren’t we? Thank you once again for sharing another fab video (and advice!). Take care🙏🏻
Thank you Penny. Glad you enjoyed it 😎👍
Brilliant video Dave stunning Caw Is wainwright outlying fell.
Nice one. Cheers Gareth 👍
Fantastic I weren't expecting this today a little bonus midweek cheers 👍 😀
Nice one Micah 😎👍
Lovely video Dave. your lucky you live so near we are over 5 hours on a good day. your work colleagues must think youir mad. would it be possible to put the grid reference for the start. keep up the good work and keep munching those bounties.
Hi Dave, hope you’re well. That’s the first vid that I’ve watched of you and I thoroughly enjoyed it all very much indeed. You’re very resilient in how you cope and manage those extreme conditions,so credit to you for what you do in bringing you’re experiences to us all.Cracking views that money can’t buy, beautiful stunning views that make the Lake District what it is in all it’s glory and extreme beauty and the wild conditions.Look forward to seeing you’re next adventure.Stay safe and respect to you Dave👍
Really appreciate that Graham. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching 👍
@@TheSoloSummiteer You’re very welcome
Really enjoying your videos....
Great again pal, loved the cheeky wine 😂, every time I watch your tent, i get tempted to go and buy one 😮
Many thanks. Yeah the Allak is a cracker ⛺️😎👍
Ahhh the Bounty ~ brew with no view. Never spent much time in that Valley. Now on my list to go and walk. That tent is getting a beasting. You did well getting up there with all that ice. Always watch your videos on the big screen nowadays as they are that good and better than most shows on TV channels. Those overnight conditions cannot have been pleasant. The morning sunrise was just soooo good. Take care.
Big thanks Colin. Yeah. The Allak certainly has had a baptism of ice 🧊 🥶🏔️⛺️😁
That was EXACTLY what I needed on a Wednesday afternoon. 😍
Thanks bud 😎👍
Wow what a sunrise thanks for sharing the video
Glad you enjoyed it Gary 😎👍
Caw blimey Governor. You have really great weather Gods - providing you with sensational looking weather.
😎👍
Inspiring, informative and beautiful scenery - tnx a million!
Glad you enjoyed it! 👍
Thank you for sharing another great video, much better than prime time TV so thank you and keep on going 🙏💪
Cheers Mitch. Much appreciated 👍😎
Again Dave superb you need to do the drone thing 💪 it’s ace 👍
Cheers Neil. Too windy for the drone. Can’t risk losing another one 🤦🏻♂️
Enjoyed it Dave always a good watch it did look a little cold though lol be safe my friend ✌️
Glad you enjoyed it
Another brilliant video, really enjoyed 👍
Thank you Ravenna 😎👍
Again another Brilliant video.. well done Dave.. 👏
Glad you enjoyed it Kenny 😎👍
Double vestibules on any tent are brilliant Dave. Means you always have entrance free from the wind. I have a kaitum 2 and I absolutely love the space provided by the vertical internal doors and 2 entrance design. Very strong tent for 3.1kg as well. Great video again 👍
Cheers Gary. Yeah, loving the Allak 👍
Great video.
Many thanks Ramsey 👍
Gosh not done that peak for 25years or so. Had a few holidays in the duddon valley. Beautiful place. Great skies again. 👍
Nice one John 😎👍
Need to get out in my Allak 3 there a belting tent,Great vid as per.👍
Love it can't get enough 👏
Ooooh a cheeky little bottle of red Sir, Ooooh, suits you Sir 🏔👍👊
😆🍷👍. Brilliant 😁
Great video feel like I’ve been in the lakes today cheers. Do you ever think of using hand warmers to ? 👍👍
Big thanks🙏🏻. Yeah, used hand warmers 👍
Nice one Dave. Indeed quite spikey. Though I’m sure you were out baggin’ but got lost and ended up on a non bag😂😂😂
Haha. Nice one UP. Bagger off 😆👍
From the look of this video I suspect Wainwright didn't include this one because it's such a bugger to get up and down. 😀 Actually I think it's one of his "Outlying Fells". Either way for the first time in a while I couldn't work out where you were. Love that game. Brilliant video again, I really like the way you put them together. I may well nick an idea or two for myself. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers Roger. Glad you enjoyed it 😎👍
My night is sorted youngen please keep the vids coming cheers will
🙏🏻
I think you'll find it is a Wainwright....Caw is an Outlying Fell. Of course most folk only count the 214!... lightweights!!😂
Just an observation, you would be better using the trekking poles rather than carrying them!
Think I saw some motorbike tracks near the summit, we used to ride over the top. Up from the quarry we called "Apache Pass"😂
Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing.
ATB Alistair 👍
Cheers Alistair. I’m honestly not that interested in Wainwrights so, hey ho 😁. I tend to use the trekking poles mostly on the downhill sections as you saw on the video. Yeah there were some motorbikes up there. Bloody hooligans 😆. ATB
Hi Dave Great video, just a quick question what tent did you use ?
Nice one. Thanks. It’s the Hilleberg Allak 2 👍
Yet another belter, the allak looks a really great tent. I'm looking at a new rucksack for winter, is that the atmos 65, if so how do you find it.
Atb Phil
Yeah Atmos 65. It’s a great pack but quite heavy. ATB 👍
And that's what you pay the money for an absolute gem of a tent,so much room for one and having the two porches makes it so versatile.
Have you fallen out with your Ocoopa handwarmer ? or did you forget it Dave?
I've just purchased one, they're brilliant if you have Reynauds or white fingers.
Looked a bit dodgy coming down in places M8,but you survived to tell another tale.
All the best Dave
😊👊🥾⛺️
Cheers Michael. I had hand warmers but did use them. Too much to do. Glad you enjoyed it 😎👍
Great video... any ways to stop all those guide lines getting all tangled up when you take down and only to appear tangled when pitching again ? ...and having no pockets in them RAB trousers is a nitemare isn't it lol thks for video M
Guess the only thing to do is to coil them up tidily when packing up; not in those conditions tho. Not so much of a problem on single night trips. Pants would be better with pockets but I still love them. Cheers bud. ATB 👍
I have to say Dave, as a hiking and camping mortal, it encourages me to see that even you get "knackered" occasionally! I didn't know where you were, until you reached the mine and the cave....I was up there last in 2008t it wasn't quite a s cold!
Great vid! Thanks
Haha. I wasn’t hanging around. Needed to get up there before dark. ATB
Brilliant to see a mid week solo summiteer Dave! Cheeky brew in the mountains whilst the kids did homework 🤣
Awesome mate, hope you're well 😌
Adge
Quality Al 😁👍
Inspiring as always sir 😊 ...and making me want next Wednesday, when I get up to the lakes, not come quick enough 👍
Nice one Marcus. Av a good un 🏔️⛺️😎👍
@@TheSoloSummiteer taking an older mate of mine for a couple of days staying in bothys
Great that you got out again Dave.
Those views were spectacular and the sunset & sunrise were captured brilliantly.
The rawness of the weather came across in the video. Even though it was clear, you could tell it was a tough one.
You seem to be thriving in these winter conditions...nothing phases you...not even a Mini Roll shortage😄
Keep doing what you do mate. 👍
Haha. Big thanks as always Simon. ATB 👍
Those tent stakes, put a cord through the top hole - easier to pull out of frozen ground!
Top tip on that trekker chair :)
Cheers. Far less messing about 👍
Looked a great spot with stunning views.those pegs Dave are they the triwonder pegs I normally use delta ground anchors.do you think they hold as well because the Delta's are a little bulky
Cheers Craig. I really rate these pegs; MSR Blizzards. Never used Delta pegs myself.
@@TheSoloSummiteer the Delta's are great nothing is pulling them out it's just the shape is awkward to pack
Another stunning video is that the JETBOIL zip or the flash u have
Cheers Adam. It’s the Zip. All I need 👍
Great video Dave . Good tips on how to pack away tent in strong winds 🏕 🌬🌬👍. The MSR blizzard stakes look interesting. Do you use on just the main guylines ? Or all pegging points ?
Cheers Steve. I take enough for both but tend just to use on the guy lines.
Have you considered some thin Powerstretch or similar gloves for tasks requiring a bit of dexterity? Then put your big gloves back on after 👌
I haven’t. I’ll check them out. Nice one 👍
@@TheSoloSummiteer I really like the Berghaus ones, but Rab and others do them too. Can be used as a glove liner also. ATB ✊
Another top one ⛺️ 🥾
Dave you got the rab microlight in this, I got the same jacket a year after watching your helvelyn camp. On scafell pike the mountain equipment. Which one is better/warmer? Cheers.
The ME jacket is warmer but heavier and more bulky. As always, pros and cons.
Another masterpiece sir
Big thanks Donald 👍😎
Excellent again 👏
What's the backpack you're using ?
Cheers Philip. It’s the Osprey Atmos 65 👍
Do you ever use any handwarmer kit old or new ? brilliant video as always - btw have you seen 14 Peaks : Nothing Is Impossible - sure its your cup of tea mate !! thanks
Cheers. I have used them but usually too busy to remember to put them in 👍
Good one, nice views up there but it didn't look great underfoot.
Flu wimping right now so it was good to watch this. Treat yourself to a bag of hand warming pouches from Decathlon Dave, they are only 6 quid and you can do wonderful stuff with 2 sachets that really do last 10 hours. Starting with one each in your mitts your hands will warm up in no time and when you are done chuck one in the footwell of your Maggot and one in your electrics bag. Great to see you have nailed the Art of using the Trekker Chair without the Thermarest although the sit matt under butt is obligatory for me.
Big thanks Olan. The chair is great. Thank you again 🙏🏻. I have some hand warmers but I’m usually too busy with filming and everything else to remember to use them. ATB bud 🙏🏻
Get well soon pal 👍
@@TheSoloSummiteer I know what you mean, not that i film but we all take our gloves off to do fiddly jobs then suffer the consequences and regret at our leisure :)

Fair play sir 🥶
Much appreciated 🙏🏻
Superb stuff 😉
Cheers bud 👍😎
Great vid and subbed👍
Awesome thank you!
i can see my house from there :) camped that one a few times
😎👍
Another belter Dave , it looked brutally cold in the morning with that wind 🥶 cracking sunrise though . Back to normal pish weather again eh looks nice Sunday onwards but I’m at work 😂 atb Dave
Aye, it was savage pal🥶. Fingers took a right battering (you know what it’s like). All worth it tho; I think 😁👍. Cheers bud 👍
6:00 contender for Mr Gay UK 2023 😂
Big thanks. That’s the best offer I’ve had for ages 👍😆
Take y used the rock near the pitch for an amount of protection from that direction? If y pitch closer at least 1 side would be protected 2 an extent, tent ,get it ,lol not 😁👍
Cheers 😁👍
anyone fancy this next year?
👋🏻
Liked. Added comment 🏔️
Nice one Simon 😎👍
Big like you have a new sub, me a small youtuber from Malta 🇲🇹🇪🇺
Thank you Pierre 🙏🏻
