  • On this episode of 2 Hr Lunch, we took out the Savage 110 rifles in .223 and .308 to shoot out at 400 yards on steel and paper, but this time we captured the shooting with an aerial drone. Captain got a new toy. It's the Quanum Nova quad-copter with a Q2D brushless gimbal. Even though the wind was a steady-state 20-25 mph, it produced some really cool footage. Let us know if you have any ideas how we can combine drone flight with shooting?!

Can you hang a target off it? I've been thinking this might be a solution to having a moving target.

Wow. That's a freakin fabulous idea. I wonder if the Captain would let me do that!? Thanks! Izzy

Might have to test some ways to keep the target stable, small weights or some kind of tail like a kite. And careful to keep a safe zone where you can shoot at it, but overall I think it should work.

That's not how you use a drone on long shots . You fly the drone up to the target and hover close enough to see the shots .You can even set up a platform and land with the camera running so you can watch the bullet hit . Worse drone view ever. He hovers clse to the shooter but never gets close to the target . The whole reason to use the drone is to see where the bullets hit on the target .
