    I loved this plane. It was able to take so much load that 3 "standard sized" cargo planes could stay on the ground. I've seen it a few times at the Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ) in Germany (which is seen in this video a few times wth the DHL air cargo HUB in the background) because I lived there for 16 years.

      What Happened To The World's Largest Plane of the Antonov 225 Mriya: In the spring of 2022, Ukrainian artillery destroyed the AN 225 "Mriya" in an aviation hangar, in which this legend of the world aircraft industry stood. In fact, for the past three decades, since the 90s, the new post-Soviet government of Ukraine has not served the national interests of Ukraine, fulfilling the demands of the owners of the dollar, who do not need a competitor in the aircraft industry... So not only the Mriya -225 was destroyed, but also the entire Ukrainian aircraft industry! Because Boeing and Airbus do not need competitors..

    The Second haul of an-225 wasn't ever disassembled, it wasn't never finished. Antonov was gonna make a second one but because of Soviet union collapse, it just got stored in hanger in Kiev. And was left abandoned. Some company have been interested to buy the haul and the wings to mass produce the an-225, but those things were just ideas. The haul has been just sitting and waiting for someone finish it up. So the second an-225 never was just finished, but hasn't been disassembled.

    The second Antonov 225 air frame I believe is still in storage and undamaged. Having followed the information from technical engineers and pilots that work with this particular airplane they are all more or less of the same opinion that the second airframe will never be completed as the tooling required to make the components no longer exist. That coupled with the immence cost to complete the plane would make it financially unviable. The current carrier planes in this video presentation are the way forward in technology and are financially viable, another reason why the 225 will never be reborn.

I doubt russians would shelling themselves and that they want to destroy this plane which is historically a proud product of soviet society. Ukrainians destroyed it in attempts to liberate the airport. Considering this was their country, I don't blame them, but russians doing it seems out of logic. They could have just stolen it. Because they don't need competitors. On the contrary, Russia and China were not interested in destroying the Antonov Design Bureau because they needed the technology and competence of aviation production of Antonov super heavy aircraft. I will remind you this story: The artillery shelling of the Hangar in which the AN 225 Mriya was located began when the Hangar territory came under the control of the paratroopers of the Russian Federation, it was so obvious that it was not Russian but Ukrainian artillery fire, because the Russians definitely would not shoot their paratroopers (Alas, since February 2014, for 8 years, the Ukrainian army and the government of Ukraine have been controlled by the enemies of Ukraine from NATO, who are destroying Ukrainian industrial competitors of the United States, Great Britain and the EU with the hands of the Ukrainian army. "The Ukrainians wouldn’t blow up their own plane like they wouldn’t blow up their own infrastructure" - ha! ha! ha! You are either a fool or a liar! Because The Ukrainian army (under NATO control), today, for several months has been firing artillery at a nuclear power plant in the city of Energodar with a Ukrainian population of 50,000 inhabitants, occupied by Russian paratroopers, just as in the spring, the same Ukrainian army fired AN-225 (Mriya) artillery, when the territory of the Hangar from AN-225 aircraft was occupied by Russian paratroopers! Because the Ukrainian government, controlled by NATO, has been destroying national industrial production for 30 years, which in the first post-Soviet years was at the level of Germany, and today has reached the level of Afghanistan, thanks to the "friendly support" of Ukrainians from the "best friends of Ukraine" from the United States, Great Britain and the EU, today, over the past three decades, the population of Ukraine has decreased exactly twice compared to the first post-Soviet years, there were 52 million people, alas, today there are 26 million people in Ukraine! - This is a direct NATO execution of Hitler's plan in relation to Ukraine! Hitler set a goal to reduce the population of Ukraine by half! About what is really happening in Ukraine today in response to the lies of your media - This is for you an educational program from a citizen of Ukraine who, since 2014 (coup d'etat in Ukraine) for 8 years on the side of the popular resistance in Ukraine, which since 2014 has been fighting against the NATO-occupation in Ukraine... 2) So, The name "Ukrainian Army" today in your media, in fact, does not mean that this army is Ukrainian, alas! Because the United States and NATO have been running this puppet army in Ukraine for 8 years, in this American puppet show about an "independent Ukraine" that has not existed for 8 years, since the 2014 occupation of Ukraine by NATO forces through a coup d'etat that NATO carried out in Ukraine.! Today, the real Ukrainian army has been in the Donbass region of Ukraine for 8 years, this people's Ukrainian army has been fighting against NATO and its marionettes in Ukraine for 8 years since 2014. I really don't understand why they destroyed it. Wouldn't a record-breaking plane make a better trophy of war than a junk pile? They could have seized it and repainted it in Soviet colors or whatever they wanted, it would have still been in one piece and flyable. Now a one-of-a-kind airplane is gone. I really hope they do rebuild her

    • @GetDougDimmadomed
      @GetDougDimmadomed Год назад +1

      Soviet Union hasn't existed since 1992. Also it's not worth their time to maintain a trophy. Same reason that if the Bismarck wasn't scuttled by the crew, the Brits would have likely just sunk it anyway. For all we know the Ukrainians destroyed it to deny it's capture. Just like that missile that hit Poland was supposedly Russian and the entire world media was at Russia's throat, just for Poland to investigate and find out that it was a Ukrainian missile.
      Either way it's a modern plane, and I doubt they destroyed the blueprints. It wasn't really one-of-a-kind, it was pretty much just a McDonalds Supersize-it Airbus. It's a shame it's gone, but it's not impossible to replace, unlike the King Cobra and B-17 that just crashed.

      @@antwango Yes, it can happen in many ways. China can finance assembly in Ukraine, or buy the existing frame, or buy only the technical documentation and built one in China from scratch. I think Ukraine will not build until the end of the war for sure, because Antonov has priority military contracts for now, all finances used and capacities loaded with military aircraft production and repairs. After the war the Ukrainian Government has 300 BN losses to recover, so the prestige of the biggest aircraft would be kind of second priority. As the same time, Zelenskyi said that Ukraine will certainly rebuild Mriya. As a national project. So he also said about many projects in many industries. So realistically, the only way to finance construction left would be a joint venture, with whoever is interested. I do not believe Ukraine will sell documentation and license to China, as China can make an entirely Chinese plain out of it. But According to Zelenskyi this would still have to be Mriya. May be through shared time use, shared ownership, profit sharing, OR one plain for China (or other investor), and one for Ukraine, many possible configurations possible.

Do you think it was easy to name it by Ukrainian word, in Russian - speaking USSR? No, not easy. But, as it was created mainly in Ukraine, it became possible to name it by Ukrainian word. And the word "Mriya", meaning "Dream", then in 1988 symbolized our dream of strong Ukraine. In some sence, it was a hint of the dream of Independence of Ukraine - and this is it's name, why Russians so much hate this plane. When they went militarily, to destroy Ukrainian independence, they first of all destroyed this plane, because of that name in Ukrainian language. But they failed, and should ultimately fail - and after that, Ukraine will rebuild the plane. Because it is one of the symbols of Ukrainian Independence.
