A hard thing I've had to overcome is letting go of my stuff or my PC builds. Like, it's MY machine and I invest alot of time and work into it and I am self conscious to a fault and make sure every little piece of dust and streaks are cleaned up etc. Cable management has to be perfect. I spent over an hour trying to get PSU extensions and combs just right etc. I was the same way with many of the cars I've owned and sold throughout the years, like my 68 GTO and 69 Charger. I got emotionally attached I guess but they are no longer OUR cars or our PC's once they are sold. I had to stop saying hey that's my car. Those guys purchased your machines, they're beautiful machines btw, in order to play the flip game and make some money. You did great work putting quality units together and you succeeded in selling them and made a profit, but they are no longer yours. That said, it's kinda low to snatch your pics for their ad. They have no shame. It is crazy that they also think they can morbidly over price them on the same platform tho.
@@Alpha-ms9nj haha I agree, I've been sad to let some of my builds go. I also put care and attention to them and the small details. Or if I get a particularly good deal on a part I'm sad to see it go, but that's the name of the game!
That behavior from those 'after-sale' sellers is extremely bizarre and shady! I've haven't seen that in my local marketplace, I've sold well over 40 PC's in 2024.
I’ve never had this happen to me here in Los Angeles. It may just be your area. But tbh, I personally wouldn’t care. If I make the profit I was aiming for, that’s all that matters to me. Also, I personally think your pricing is fair…if anything, a little more expensive than here in LA. So to see people reselling your PC at a premium is just bananas. There’s no way they’ll sell that anytime soon.
I have never had something like this happen to me personally but, I did see someone who copied my titles, and descpritions word for word just with differnet specs. He even had similar camera angles for his pictures.
There are channels on RUclips who do this same thing. Buy a system for a fair price, do little or no work to it, and then try and flip it for a profit. If that last guys makes $500 profit for his PC, it stopped being yours when he paid for it, then he's gotten a nice payday for no work.
I had a kid reach out to buy one of my budget builds for under $500 and then he stole my exact pictures and description and listed it for $750 before I even sold to him. I messaged him and told him sell was off.. no way it’s worth $750 but I want to sell for someone to enjoy not flip to someone for a bad deal.
@jamesgrundy23 yep I agree. It's tough when folks take advantage of your goodwill, but ultimately I'm going to continue with what I think is right even if others do not.
@ yes sir. You do your thing and do good by others. Can’t be held responsible for your PC after the sale. Unfortunate people are how they are though. Rather sly… but hey, you’re providing a good product for a good price. You gotta feel good about that.
@bokitech it seems easier then selling online, but maybe it's not. I just like the assurance of getting paid right away and knowing it works when it leaves my possession.
Bizarre. Maybe it is a secret PC flipping ring organized by that reseller. Those “customers” might be his friends. BTW can you build me a PC tonight? I need something to list for sale LOL
@@gamingwolf7895 Just wait until you sell a PC and they return it because “it doesn’t work right” You then give them an entirely different PC, and they return that one as well. Fun times.
Honestly I wouldn’t sweat it much. At the least raise your prices a bit, and haggle more if that’s something you’re willing to do. So far I’ve sold about 15 pcs on marketplace and have amassed a pretty solid reputation in the charlotte area, mainly due to customer service and just great looking pcs/parts. I’ve yet to see anyone posting my builds, but I don’t check it too often. A lot of my builds were sold to parents for their children too. So I doubt I’d see them being sold, hopefully
@smittyholden7213 haha yeah, my main customers have been folks in their 20s I'd say. I also build with quality parts and have great feedback, I don't think that a bunch of my pcs are failing.
I had someone listed my Ryzen 5 2600x Gtx 1070 pc listed at the same price I had mine listed for so I guess they’re just breaking equal in price, other than that, idk what’s going on either, like I always try to make more money and at a price where nobody can relist it for more than how much I want my pcs to sell.
You seem like you do your research on Facebook marketplace so I doubt you are selling too low. I imagine they think they can make an easy buck. It's worth checking the listings every now and then and see how low they have to reduce the price before they sell it. To be fair they are doing this in January which is traditionally the slowest time to sell as many ppl get paid early in Dec so are struggling with a long period before they get paid at the end of Jan. Stunning builds by the way.
Looks like you can increase your prices for your market place if people are buying and up selling. They're doing market research for you for absolute free
@zippykitty4447 well, just because they list higher doesn't mean they sell higher. Plus, I'm not always looking to squeeze every last dollar out of people. I want buyers to get a good deal too.
@xbuildscustoms oh yeah, he's delusional. The funny thing was how hard he pushed me to get it done, and his urgency to have it for streaming. Not sure if he was just lying about all that or what happened.
Leave a comment if I should low ball a guy! Disgusting behavior. I’ll make sure to not buy nothing from. And the whiny and since of entitlement is rich here. You weird.
