He never implied he was Mexican. Watch his 1988 special where he explains that he is Honduran.

A lot of people in here are saying that he stole his jokes from other people that he's not funny at all if that's the case where are these funny people and why are we not watching them rather than him?
Well a lot of people watched George Lopez back in the day (you know, before his shows were just boring political rants), and Carlos stole a bunch of jokes from George Lopez' Why You Cryin'. Particularly the part about his mom being a uterus with a head, word for word. But he's still funny, idc that he stole jokes.

Just for context, the war in Iraq that he refers to isn't the recent war in Iraq that we all know about. Since this standup special was in 1998, he would've instead referred to the Gulf War. That conflict only lasted for about a year ('90 to '91), so that's why he referred to it as quick.

@@KingNexusMOCs I almost didn't. When he mentioned war in Iraq, I immediately thought about the more recent Iraq War. He mentioned that it was quick, which threw me off. That war lasted from 2003 to a withdrawal in 2011, which is not quick to me. Then I noticed that the stand-up special was from '98.

I actually watched him do that bit way back in 1992 at the Comedy Store in Hollywood when he was using his real name. That was supposedly 2 years before Joe Rogan had performed at the Comedy Store.

I’m not sure how old you are but if you saw when that all happened, Rogan was a nobody in comedy. Carlos was the biggest comic with Dave gone. It hurt Rohan’s career for a while but he was defending others. Carlos stole jokes and then ruined their career if they did anything by getting them banned at clubs, which he claims he couldn’t do but bs. He could easily say it’s joe shmo or me. They’ll choose money. There’s a lot of evidence he stole jokes and even Bobby says that. He simply said he owes his career to him and he’s a nice guy and conflicted
There’s proof of his stealing though. Like an enormous amount. Even Bobby his biggest supporter has said so but there’s plenty if video evidence.
