Yeah definitely want a fairly soft lit environment. Also would recommend slightly underexposing - ev -0.7 if using auto settings and keep iso low - 400max, ideally under 200
Yes this was 100% filmed with the dji NEO because I wanted to demonstrate how versatile its functions can be. The quality actually could have been even better but I pushed it a lot by shooting into the sun - small camera sensors don't normally cope well with this. I use manual setting - shutter speed according to light conditions and keep iso low - this is important - Iso has to stay below 400 or even 200. I also set my ev to -0.3 or -0.7. You can set video quality, sharpness etc settings when using the NC3 controller, RC2 or using the FPV Goggles 3. Unfortunately I can't see a way of changing video settings for AI moves like dronie etc. hopefully this will be added though.
@@saysoptimus9884 sorry I need to correct myself - when using the Nc3 controller you can fully adjust camera parameters of smart functions like dronie, rocket etc too. It is only when using AI control and mobile phone alone control where the smart functions are set to auto camera settings

@@saysoptimus9884 Yes if you use automatic follow me mode or any of the drone AI functions - the video quality can be set to 4K - its only the shutter speed, iso, white balance etc that you cannot change unless you have the NC3 controller or FPV system.
@@eddaardwolf I think it’s more due to the level of digital crop relating to the onboard stabilisation. I use gyroflow mostly which I strongly suspect allows you to use less crop but it’s something I want to look closer into. Cool, can you go full downward 80-90 degree in manual mode? Like in many fpv videos at cliffs, waterfalls, etc. In manual mode is the bottom sensor disabled? Or Neo will rise when you fly very close abova an object? Also what is NC3? :)
@@martonprech7987 you can go into a full 90 sec dive but I wouldn’t recommend it with this drone as it will snap and tumble out of such dives a lot. It did it twice when I tried diving down this tower and I used those tumbles to create a transition in the latter part of the video. NC3 was a typo - it’s the RC-N3
@@dronewilder5234 thank you. "i would recommend it" you mean "i would not recommend it"? so, what about the bottom sensor? You can go very close above objects, few cm in fpv manual mode without neo want to rise? With rc-n3 i cannot. It will rise.
@@martonprech7987 sorry that was autocorrect - I meant I wouldn’t recommend it. Quite a few of my videos show this yaw tumble which isn’t like the avata yaw tumble, it’s more of a power/voltage dip thing. Regarding flying close to objects, in full manual mode you can fly as close as you possibly dare to things, the bottom sensors won’t do anything in that mode.
Yes sort of but has a tendency to snap out of dives a lot - there is a clip in this near the end where it did this and I used it as a hidden cut instead.
That was a combination of two clips where the drone span out of control during dives. The first half was in the true direction and the second half was a different clip which also resulted in a flip but played in reverse- then combined to create this kind of transition (not sure if that makes sense).
@@dronewilder5234that was very clever editing, it really elevates the final video. I am waiting for my hoverair pro but I really doubt I will be able to do such videos (at least not from the beginning) And now I am starting to doubt my decision to go with more expensive hoverair instead of neo (but I don't have any drone and I always liked simplicity of the hoverair that you can just put it in your pocket and start filiming without any complicated setting but original x1 was missing manual control). Neo perfectly using dji family products to its advantage
Nice flying and all. Yeah that camera is just so disappointing. I am waiting for this drone to be delivered, but the more I see of it, the more I don't think I want it. @@Dartheomus well the way I see it dji have another 115g to play with to keep this a sub 250g drone sp maybe they will bring out something a bit more capable. For now I actually quite like the challenge of this limited drone. It’s making me think about the quality of ambient light far more critically.
@@dronewilder5234 Fair point. I agree about the weight component as well. I just need to remember it was my excuse to fly manual on a cheaper drone so I don't wreck my Avata 2 right out of the gate!
Dont get it, National Trust say no drone flying on their land, and a CAA requirement is having a spotter when you fly using FPV, and the spotter must keep the drone in sight at all times. Please correct me if I have git this wrong as I would love to get some goggle's, but can't see the point with the UK,CAA restrictions.
@@alanc973 you’re right in that a spotter is required for FPV although let’s be honest - a vast majority of flyers don’t use spotters - I’m not saying that’s ok - it is against the rules but most people use their common sense and either break or bend the rules a bit. The same goes for the line of sight rule. Like I said I’m not officially supporting rule breaking whatsoever but maybe this insight into how most people treat drone flying will help you make your own decision.

@@adventuresofdamianstobie8211 unfortunately no, the Neo can only be operated by the RC-N3, RC-2 or the goggles3/remote3. Obviously also mobile phones but the range is then very restricted. The base version of the drone does however come with the RC-N3 which is very decent
@@dronewilder5234 ahh ok mate I’m learning with the mini 2 infact your page has really helped me too be honest if you get time check my page could do with some expert opinions about my work in progress
@@dronewilder5234 I don’t even know what rc n3 means I’m guessing that could be for the mini 3 yeh
@@adventuresofdamianstobie8211 the RC-N controllers are budget controllers which require a smartphone connection but they do work very well. The N3 version is for drones with O4 transmission which are the mini4 pro, air3 and air3s.
@@dronewilder5234 ahh right i am thinking of upgrading to a mini 4 as soon as I’ve got the hang of flying a drone have only had it for two months so I’m getting there been self educating myself on here really I keep thinking the neo looks good for the price it is and looks a very hardy little thing especially with what you put it through loved that video I flew at westbury white horse this evening have you flew there
Tysm this is exactly what i was looking for, was nd filters used in the video?
No ND filters in this video but I will be reviewing some soon
May I know the camera settings in your neo? Thanks! Great vid.
@@chrimsonjaycarcasona750 sure - iso set to auto - max iso at 400. Shutter speed fixed according to lighting - around 1/240 in those conditions I think. Ev set to about -0.7 to as highlights are often a bit blown out with the Neo.
Can you write in detail what program you used to process this video? And maybe you have ready-made filters?
I used adobe premiere and gyroflow for stabilisation but yes I may be able to put together a video on my setting etc
Fantastic bud and with the neo. Are you finding cloudy and low ish light weather is the best for neo in terms of footage quality?
@@dronewilder5234 спасибо большое, вас понял 👍
В автоматическом режиме без пульта качество видео дрони, за мной и так далее в 4к снимают видео?

@@saysoptimus9884 Yes if you use automatic follow me mode or any of the drone AI functions - the video quality can be set to 4K - its only the shutter speed, iso, white balance etc that you cannot change unless you have the NC3 controller or FPV system.

It's been a while that I flew in the UK, but wasn't there something with drones over National Trust grounds?
@@robinb5752 that’s correct - technically you’re not allowed to fly drones over national trust land without permission

@@Droneaway-72 aaalmost. It’s not quite as good, but so much more versatile than a Mavic… it’s like a Swiss Army knife drone 🙂

@@effendycia3290glad you enjoyed it - you can find this one on epidemic sounds. Title and artist in the video description
Can we this kinda shooting though only mobile controller
@@yash7656 some of it yes - the first few shots as indicated where done with the mobile controller
The lens angle changes from controller only/phone to fpv mode to a wider angle right?
@@eddaardwolf I think it’s more due to the level of digital crop relating to the onboard stabilisation. I use gyroflow mostly which I strongly suspect allows you to use less crop but it’s something I want to look closer into. Effectively though yes FPV mode seems to give you a wider angle because it doesn’t apply horizon lock which requires even more cropping.
Can i ask how you got the neo to this height? Ive changed all my settings and I can’t exceed the height of about 200’ feet.
@@bjohnson23601 you can set the max height in the settings. Are you flying with the RC-N3 controller? Couldn’t be an enforced altitude limit in your area?
May I know the location of this castle? And what is the function of this castle?
@@opsupa this is called king Alfred’s tower of a folly as it’s often referred to. I believe it was built as a memorial to king Alfred in 1772. It’s located in Wiltshire
@@dronewilder5234cool
Can it dive?
Yes sort of but has a tendency to snap out of dives a lot - there is a clip in this near the end where it did this and I used it as a hidden cut instead.
Great ambience! Did you play the part starting at around 2:33 in reverse or is that the actual footage?
That was a combination of two clips where the drone span out of control during dives. The first half was in the true direction and the second half was a different clip which also resulted in a flip but played in reverse- then combined to create this kind of transition (not sure if that makes sense).
@@dronewilder5234that was very clever editing, it really elevates the final video. I am waiting for my hoverair pro but I really doubt I will be able to do such videos (at least not from the beginning)
And now I am starting to doubt my decision to go with more expensive hoverair instead of neo (but I don't have any drone and I always liked simplicity of the hoverair that you can just put it in your pocket and start filiming without any complicated setting but original x1 was missing manual control). Neo perfectly using dji family products to its advantage
@@muchanic thanks - I’m sure you’ll enjoy the hoverair pro. It’s got some very decent specs
Nice flying and all. Yeah that camera is just so disappointing. I am waiting for this drone to be delivered, but the more I see of it, the more I don't think I want it. I love the follow features, and the fact that I can use it with my goggles 3. I just wish there was a pro version with a good camera. =/
@@Dartheomus yeah the avata 2 also does some weird things when you push it hard but not as bad as the Neo
Any ND filters used?
@@richarddangles8896 no I haven’t started using them on the Neo yet but I’m looking to give them a go despite the camera being very small
@@dronewilder5234 Totaly agree it's a bit like driving and 70mph rule. I have only had the Neo combo a few days and loving it. I have had a HoverAir x1 for nearly a year, so loving flying with DJI controller. By the way I am a 81year old child, lol love your content.
