Very enjoyable. I found myself rooting for Ron to turn down 68 and head past Strollos and the Notch :). I got lost at the "cop shop" and didn't realize he did go down past the Lumber Company and Strollos. Then I got back my sense of direction. A lot of great historic houses. If anyone ever did a video of West Cheshire, Mixville, Darcey and Cheshire Heights, I'd love to see it.
I grew up in Cheshire 1972-1988. Lived on Williams Road and then Payne Drive. I remember when the Underground Sunoco came to town. I couldnt belive the driving range across from the High School was still there. And the 7-11. I loved that town, still wish I made a life there.
Hi Ron, I love this video! Is it possible this was filmed earlier than 1989? The Samuel Beach House is not yet flipped to face north, which I believe happened sometime in 1986. I also noticed Sweet Claude's has Carlton's written on the building - I believe it was Galt Toys prior to Sweet Claude's opening in 1988, so perhaps Carlton's was the business before the toy shop. It's amazing you had the thought to film this back then!
I was just thinking it has to be early 80s. I know that because I saw the house that I grew up in, before it had siding. My parents put the siding on after we moved in, in 1984.
No matter the year, the video is awesome. Watching it on my TV made it seem like I was looking through the window of a time machine. It was amazing. I wish there was a longer version.
Ron Gagliardi filmed this and I think he just did the main roads. I just post one from 2007 of the back roads, but I am afraid Redstone is not on it.@@mailroomplus7310
So cool to see what has changed and what remains the same. Thank you for sharing!👍
WOW, what a blast from the past! Richlin, Farm shop, seafarer restaurant, fototmat!
GREAT, GREAT PIECE OF HISTORY HERE!! THANKS FOR SHARING, RON! Amazing how you thought to do this.
Amazing time travel video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
A Time Machine journey back. I remember

Had to have been a lot of pissed off people behind him going this slow up Rt 10. LOL
That video was definitely made before 1989. I would say around 1985.
I would agree. Farm Shop was still there. By 1989 that was Cheshire Video.
Movie says Karate Kid, 1984.
Yep, the cars are a bit old for what you'd have seen in 89. And you see Geno's pizza where Pop's moved in in 86.
I agree. Earlier than the 89. I was married in 89 and moved here then.
And Pizza Hut is not in this video, confident it popped up around 88. So, definitely 84/85ish.
The underground Sunoco in all its glory. I was employed part time as a teen there at the time. Most definitely 84.

Skips Elmco Skip Witaker!!!!
The description says “short version.” Is there a LONG version? I’d watch it! 😀😀
I didn’t move there until 92
This is not 1989. This is before 1989 I am guessing like 1985

Also what's now Pop's pizza is called Gino's. Pop's has been there since 86.

It was actually filmed in 84
@@FrankRobertsJr what a great piece of history!!
This is like watching the Zapruder film for me. Any chance you have some footage from Redston Dr?
Redstone
