I really love this comment!! My top 6 list is made up of guitarists who changed my perception of guitar playing and inspired me to carry on, not necessarily influenced my playing style. All of the guitarists I mentioned here in this vid aided my guitar playing vocabulary. The Edge (as you mentioned), I know I don't play anything like him but in the beginning he really got me into the concept of how the guitar supported the song and didn't 'lead it'. I am also very heavily inspired by musicians/ composers including Hans Zimmer, Jesper Kyd and other guys such as Zander Zon, Rick Graham, Daniel Gottardo have all had an impact on my playing. Yes EVH was on my top 6 list :)

Cam, very good. I'm not familiar with the legalities around these patches, but if you can copyright it and monetize it, you have a buyer here. Also, I would be willing to sign a contract not to share it, which I believe would be legal in the US at least as it protects your brand. if you're planning on revealing it, I'll look out for it, and encourage you to monetize it if possible. Sorry viewers...just tryin' to help a brother out.

Or do you just select the one note automatically that fits? I'm really curious as to the thought process here.. Thanks.
unclesuperfly I was aware that there are two of the same notes together within that scale. It is actually pretty useful because when you play it offers cool ideas for phrasings and when you play fast it creates a really cool effect. Good spot!

Winn Hall Hi Winn! I am really sorry but I don't have that patch anymore. I swapped it for my own personal custom patch which I use for all of my videos more or less. I know that sounds hard to believe and like I am being a bit tight, I was just tired of sounding like Van Halen aha. Why not buying an EVH Wolfgang Special made in mexico, they are made at the same factory the Charvel Pro Mod guitars are made...? But i think there is no big difference between the Specials (Mexico) and the Standard (Indonesia) EVH Wolfgangs, but the Standards have good quality and are really cheap...:--)))

what I would like to see, is you take a hard lick that you would like to learn, one that you are very slow at and show us how you start out slowly with a metronome and build up speed. more on how long it takes using a metronome to get blazing fast. how many hours a day would you practice that lick to get is fast.... tips like that. thanks
Hi Bruce. Thanks for your comment!. Fact is I don't use a metronome. I have my own way of learning which is in essence, breaking something apart note by note and then playing it in chunks. There's a lot of repetition involved. It annoys me so it'd probably annoy viewers even more.

@@Dvdog007 It wasn't really a regimented routine, it was basically whenever I wasn't in school. I'd come home, do my homework and then play guitar all night learning everything that excited me the most. I'd imagine something in the region of 4-6 hours a day. 9-10 hours a day when school holidays set in. I never had a social life so I just cracked on with guitar playing.

That's fair enough. I don't know any theory of any kind, I have heard of the modes but don't know any of the technicalities behind it. I am only explaining in this video how I approached the guitar to get better
I don't know theory as well...so no worries I can;t read notes as well...I just learn my fave solo's and take the you tube teachers word on what mode it is based on ie Randy Rhoades AEOLIAN based good lesson and a very handy pattern you taught cheers

Howcome you hybrid pickers never mention that you are doing it. Everything you youtube players emphasize is left hand musical theory. A great video though!

The scale seems to incorporate both A pentatonic and A Dorian very nicely.
if you move half step then you get the lydian scale and move up a step and you got mixolydian scale quite handy

Of course. It makes me laugh when people ask that. You can't play these chops without the finger power. Regardless of what your signal chain might be.

For me, I got better mixing pentatonic and modes.
