OH MY GOD! A blind playthrough where the person isn't streaming on twitch and getting spoiled by chat every two seconds?? FANTASTIC. Time to binge this playlist to catch up! :D love this game, you'll get 0 spoilers from me!
I watched one where they usually have chat but chat wasent supposed to tell them how to play the game but a s you can imagine that proved almost impossible so they turned off, them viewing the chat while they played. Chat could talk amongst themselves "in the void" during the gameplay part. It lead to great stuff like when they sent a Lynel into oblivion with an ancient arrow and then chat saying the lynel was in the void with us. There was great art for it. It also meant we all could yell and loose out mind as they somehow found their way through the lost woods by following a fox and never realizing the torch thing.
yeah I hate the twitch streamers lmao. Streams are great for multiplayer games or smaller indies but actual games with spoilers are just so bad for twich streams.
“there’s no fall damage” literally 5 seconds later “OH THERE IS FALL DAMAGE” 😭😂😭😂😭😂 i’m so excited to watch through all these videos. the perfect way to spend my time before tears of the kingdom!!!
I love how you get the topographical map from the towers, but it doesn't fill in the names of the different features until you actually visit them. Exploration in this game is so worth it.
It's not something you really figure out. More so comes automatically. i also don't think he'll remember such a small aspect of the game @@jbcvabeach82
The way I cackled when you started going down the tower, having heard you say “oh, no fall damage”. I was like, it has to be here. It HAS TO BE HERE and sure enough XD
This is one of my favorite games. The "every approach is valid" mindset behind it is just the sickest. I started playing in 2017, I've got something like 400 hours in it alone... And I still haven't defeated the beast! You've got a long, glorious journey ahead of you, full of rolling hills, extremely bad decisions, galaxy brain puzzle moments, and fish love!
Just hearing your explanation of your gaming style, I have a feeling this series will be one of the longest and most rewarding on your channel, and I can't wait to join along all the way to the end of it!
I love how blind this is to even the Zelda series as a whole. In a way it parallels Link's amnesia in this game, making you experience things exactly as he would.
As someone who just got a switch this past weekend and bought breath of the wild as my first game, I can’t tell you how excited I was to see the my favorite blind playthrough creator already started his run 3 months ago lol. Much love, ScubaSteve
My husband and I both played it on launch and have probably played it at least once a year since then. I have at least 1000 hours. It's just the sort of game you can dive into over and over and never really feel bored. That being said, we do really love blind playthroughs and living vicariously through someone experiencing the game for the first time, so we're happy to have found this series! We are looking forward to continue watching it and hoping you will enjoy it as much as we have.
i just found this channel because a coworker was telling me about this lets play series. i had been talking about how i love watching lets plays, but have been staying away from tears of the kingdom lets plays to avoid spoilers while i play. so im super excited to dive into this one. breath of the wild was one of the funnest experiences i've ever had with a game in my whole 30 years of being on this planet. super cool to see other people experience it for the first time and have that same wonder.
This is so refreshing and wholesome. I LOOOOVE the way you carefully play this game and take everything in and articulate your thoughts in detail. I had to subscribe. This video reminds me so much of the first time I played this game and all the impressions it made. It's wonderful.
Being a Fan of the Legend of Zelda Series since 1993, I can tell you this much: I think you did the right choice starting with Breath of the Wild. Why? Because I am pretty confident, that I can name all 4 different Zelda Titles, Fans will have mentioned the most, by naming just five out of 17 Zelda Games so far. A Link to the Past. Ocarina of Time. Majoras Mask. Wind Waker. Twilight Princess. These games have one thing in common: All of them are titles released for Nintendo home consoles. All of them are linear experiences, focussed on storytelling. And not counting one, all of them match a certain Style. You will find, fans are very parcial about their first "Zelda-game" ever and will most of the time favor an experience to match it. This is, why some Zelda veterans will tell you, that Breath of the Wild is not a good "Zelda-game", despite it being an arguably good game. By starting your experiences with the Legend of Zelda franchise with Breath of the Wild, you will be in the unique position of apreciating both, classic "Zelda-Games" AND this, curiously titled "new kind" of Zelda game. I put "new kind" in quotation marks, because the very first Zelda game was sort of similar to this, despite not being a 3D Zelda game yet. I wish you a lot of fun with your first instalment of The Legend of Zelda Series!
Ryan, I always love seeing you going through some of my favorite gaming experiences for the first time, and you have once again chosen one very special to me. The world in this game is such a joy and wonder to explore. I’m so excited for all of the beautiful discoveries you will make on your journey and I can’t wait to catch every minute of it :)
Woooooo this is the best game ever!!! My sister played this when it came out and just managed to make me play it in summer 2021 and I got ADDICTED so fast even though I fought her so hard. Can’t wait for the new one soon!!!
I LOVE how thorough and thoughtful you are with your gameplay and observation - just discovered this channel and am delighted to watch this whole series and more! Blind LPs are my favorite and most don't give the attention to detail that you do - thanks!!! Also link is indeed beautiful lmao
Neat! I've never been a Zelda player myself since I didn't own many Nintendo consoles, but BotW has a special place in my heart. I watched someone stream it on the evening after work during my first internship in another city, which made my tiny apartment feel less lonely. It's a charming game and I hope you have fun discovering it's wonders.
Have to say out of every youtuber I've seen play this game so far, you are my favorite to do so. Always fun to see someone enjoy this game for the first time!
Dope!!! Saw this on my YT algo and subscribed. Looking forward to the rest of your play through and seeing you learn new stuff. I remember "DeeBeeGeek" started his Zelda journey with BOTW (he was strictly Xbox/PS prior to it) too and has dove into other titles in the series, with this quickly becoming one of his favorite series ever. Will be cool seeing where this takes you 🥂 Great timing picking this up as well with Tears of the Kingdom dropping in less than a month as well. Excited to see where this goes 🤝
Woohoo! You will have so much fun with this, and I can't wait yo see the chaos you cause because let's face it you cause chaos at times! (I played and am still playing this on switch)
ohhhh I know this is already a month old now but with Tears of The Kingdom release just around the corner I've picked up BOTW again for another playthrough and I'v been actively looking for old playthroughs so I'm so excited to have found such a recent one! I' absolutely love watching someone discover my favourite game for the first time, it's truly breathtaking and so so good. Since you asked, I actually played this for the first time about 6months to a year after release mainly because I wanted to wait for there to be a few more games released on the switch before I got it but ohhh dearl lordy I ended up bingeplaying this for several hundred hours anyway. it is such a joy. I'm excited to watch your progress through and I hope people didn't spoil too much XD however, due to the "hands off, discover stuff yourself" nature of the game, there are some mechanics or things that can be easily missed for a whole playthrough so I hope you'll let ppl give you maybe small tips occasionally. haha I mean, I'll have to wait and see, don't know if you managed to finish it in a single month (unless you went straight for the main objectives with no sidequests, meandering and discovering then I doubt it) but I'm looking forward to the journey :D
"Oh, there's no fall damage!" **immediately jumps off the tower and dies** 😂😂😂 thank you for the laugh, such good timing. By the way, I waited almost as long as you to play the game. It took me five years to save up to buy a Switch.
I rarely comment, but you have been one of my favorite RUclipsrs by far when it comes to blind playthroughs, and you more than deserve the attention of the “almighty” algorithm. Your Hollow Knight and Outer Wild playthroughs were fantastic, and I’m looking forward to binging this one! Have fun!
The great thing about the Legend of Zelda series is that (with a few exceptions for direct sequels) you can play them in just about any order you want, so Breath of the Wild is as good as any of the games to start with. I hope you enjoy it!
i already knew i was gonna love this before it started, i just didnt know how much id actually was about to love it. SO excited for this series, cant wait for tomorrow to come
I’ve started playing this in the past few days, and I adore it. It’s so fun to see someone unfamiliar with Zelda doing a blind playthrough! I’ve not seen any of your videos before, but I hope you’re enjoying your time with the game :)
You said “oh, no fall damage” and I giggled a little. Then you fell 😂😂 I’m looking forward to playing Tears of the Kingdom in the same way. This will give me plenty to do until it’s released!!
breath of the wild was not the first zelda game i played, but the first one i beat, for good reason. while it might be good to play a more traditional one then go to this, this is the best one in many ways, and a great game on its own. good luck and have fun. shits magical. this and both mario galaxy games are my most cherished gaming memories.
Breaking the "no more long open world RPGs" rule immediately, I see. Let it be known that I fully support that decision. Going to break one of my own rules and watch this before I play the game myself. I don't (yet) own any Nintendo hardware. Knowing almost nothing about this game it is giving me some "Elden Ring, but cartoony" vibes.
I just got my very first gaming console (Switch) last January of 2022 and got this game as my first. I finished after 100+ hours. Haven't played it again, but I'm planning to make another playthrough of it to hype my self for the new zelda game.
First episode hype!!! Watched with the chat and can't wait for more! This is definitely one of my top 5 games ever. I played it back at launch and have replayed many times as well.
This man is absolutely adorable to watch play, what a sweetheart. I love how excited he is to be exploring Hyrule. I am loving watching you play man! I cant wait to see where this takes you ! Please keep up the great videos!
RUclips recommended this to me and I was excited this is the first video of yours I'm seeing. You have such a calm energy it's wonderful to see people getting into BOTW. I played this in 2018 and have at least 600 hours in it. It's a beautiful zelda game but quite different than others in the franchise
Best content on the internet for us BOTW lovers! You took me right back to my first day playing! I have 100% completed three different times. Will definitely be watching each episode. Well until TOTK is released lol. Best of luck👍
You showed up in my recommended, and I can see why! I can already tell this is going to be a great playthrough for you. Good luck, and hope you end up loving this game/franchise! 🥰
It's incredible how you keep picking real video game gems for your blind playthroughs. Absolutely loved your Outer Wilds, Subnautica, Skyrim and The Last of Us playthroughs. I think this one will become something to look forward to each day, too. I'm really excited! If you'll ever start playing Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky (no pressure tho :P) you're seriously gonna become my favorite RUclipsr, Ryan! (nah, who am I kidding, you already are...) Have fun with Breath of the Wild! -- pekay
I played through this game about two years ago and fell in love with it! Which assuming by the number of videos you've posted that I've gotta bimge, you did too! 😅 I never got to fully finish the game but I know the full storyline because I've seen others in my family play through it! I never got to finish it because after a long trip to Puerto Rico, we were coming back home amd getting gas when someone stole my dad's suitcase out of our trailer and only took the Nintendo Switch with Zelda BOTW on it. 😂 Anyways, if anyone who stole a suitcase out of the back of a trailer connected to a Volkswagen van is reading this, I'D LIKE MY SWITCH BACK PLEASE.
I hardly ever comment on anything, but I have to applaud your commitment both to the exploration aspect of the game (which is vital) and our enjoyment as viewers. I'm glad I have many episodes to see and can't wait to live it again with you, my friend. If there's a single game I'd love to play again for the first, BOTW is the one (also, as you, the first Zelda game I ever played). Keep it up! :)
love this playthrough so far! It's great that you're taking the time to read all the little pop ups in the game because they sometimes give you valuable information that you need in order to progress. So many people don't read it and end up frustrated.
What a treat to get a thorough and as-blind-as-possible playthrough of this game in 2023! I played this game loads and loads back when it was new, and keep coming back to it, it is my absolute favorite. Excited to rediscover the figuring out of this game through you! And I'm so pleased that you seem like a curious and through player. Have fun, I'm sure we will from watching the videos!
Gonna say before I even get into this video, I've recently discovered your skyrim playthrough and have been binging that, and a thought I've had several times this past week or two was "Man it'd be cool if he played Breath of the Wild too." So imagine my surprise and joy when I saw this video pop up in my recommendation. Now I have a new series of my second favorite open world game to watch as it comes out while binging a playthrough of my favorite open world game. Really looking forward to seeing where you take this playthrough!
I'm so happy I found a blind playthrough that's so LONG! Having the entire game to look forward to binging while I work is an absolute joy. I played this game on launch and it's such a comfort to me, so seeing another person who experiences and explores the same way my ADHD brain does is very satisfying.
Great to relive this game so close to the release of the new one with a fresh perspective. I look forward to following the series and exploring your other content. You have a new subscriber! Good luck!
I just started watching another channel's first time playthrough and yours is like night and day, in comparison. You read everything thoroughly and experiment in the world as new tools and information is given to you. Thank you for making this and I wish I would've come across it sooner
Omg another blind playthrough of botw that the person playing doesn't have any background with Zelda????? I'm... I'm so stoked. I've been rewatching people and I'm so happy to see this new one!!!
Watching again because I was busy watching chat! MUCH EXCITE 💙💙💙 I first played this in late 2020 when I first bought myself a Switch. I've since played it at least 4 times through, including all DLC. I've watched my husband play several times, and watched a couple other playthroughs. It's such a good game, so full of things to do and explore, and no one plays it quite the same way. I am counting down the days to Tears of the Kingdom... 61 days btw. I don't even know if you'll be finished with BOTW by then. It's THICK. Enjoy!
Ahhhh I love to see such a blind playthrough and am actually amazed at how truly blind it is lol. I've spent idk probably 900 hours in this game since 2020, and haven't gotten bored yet. It hooked me immediately and still has me in a chokehold lol. Hope you enjoy it, and I'm suuuper looking forward to all the discoveries you'll make as you go :') Thanks for sharing this with us!
I am so excited to watch this series with you! BOTW was my first, and it has become one of my favorite games on the switch! I love your play style, you bring a lot of humor and positivity in your let's plays, so I have no doubt this let's play will be one of my favorites!
Just to be clear, all Zelda games are beloved, it's just that the Nintendo Switch has been far and away the most popular Nintendo home console in years, so way more people have played BoTW so it naturally has a bigger fanbase than the rest of the series. My personal favorite Zelda game is Wind Waker for the gamecube (or the remake on the Wii U), and I think you'd love it too based off the games I've seen you play. Super stoked to see you start playing The Legend of Zelda in general, hope you love it =)
It is so relaxing to watch someone play a game so thoroughly. I played this game the same way, because I was rather new to video games in general when I started BOTW!
I rarely ever comment on videos here on youtube, but considering how much I adore this beautiful playthrough, I’m gonna make a well deserved exception. This is hands down the most enjoyable and wholesome playthrough of the game I’ve seen. No twitch stream, no excessive screaming, no trying to be funny, just playing and experiencing the game on its own. I love it ❤
I'm excited to watch this! Even blind playthroughs of this game are usually with people who've played previous Zelda games, so there is an emotional attachment to Hyrule and her characters. I'm interested to see how your emotions around the characters and setting grow.
Enjoying this first episode of the playthrough and will likely continue to enjoy it in future. I appreciate the more methodical/thorough approach you go about approach things
I can tell already im going to love watching this. You have the right idea as to how blind playthroughs should be done. And you get why i want to watch them. I love this game cant wait to see you play it for the first time.
Howdy there! I'm finally starting to watch this ☺ Made it far enough in my own playthrough that I should be somewhat on an equal level, maybe even further ahead since I rushed to get the complete map after I arrived at H*****. There is, of course, a risk there will be stuff in this playthrough I haven't discovered yet, but that's a risk I'm willing to take at this point 😁
love love love this series, it’s rekindling my love of this game right before the release of TotK! the fall damage made me actually lol, i feel like everyone remembers their first game over from falling. on my first play through i figured out the fall damage when immediately after the title card i walked right off the ledge and died.

The way I cackled when you started going down the tower, having heard you say “oh, no fall damage”. I was like, it has to be here. It HAS TO BE HERE and sure enough XD
Does BotW have a targetting system? Short answer: yes. Long answer: this is the franchise that invented targetting in video games.

First episode hype!!! Watched with the chat and can't wait for more! This is definitely one of my top 5 games ever. I played it back at launch and have replayed many times as well.
That moment when the towers break out of the ground and start rising up is one of the coolest cinematics I've ever seen in any game, ever.
This man is absolutely adorable to watch play, what a sweetheart. I love how excited he is to be exploring Hyrule. I am loving watching you play man! I cant wait to see where this takes you ! Please keep up the great videos!
awwww thanks Zach
If I watched the whole 173 videos playthrough I think my mind will split
RUclips recommended this to me and I was excited this is the first video of yours I'm seeing. You have such a calm energy it's wonderful to see people getting into BOTW. I played this in 2018 and have at least 600 hours in it. It's a beautiful zelda game but quite different than others in the franchise
Enjoy while you can.
I wish I could forget my first experience to re-live it again. It was the best.
Thanks Bella :)
Great video and I'll definitely be subbing and checking out your other games you've played
After I binge the BOTW playthrough
i'm always super pumped to see people play this for the first time
hope you are having a lot of fun with this game so far
I'm so ready for this. You seem like such a fun guy. Keep the videos up
welcome in Happy Dragon :) thank you!
So hyped to check out every video in this series! This is my favorite game of all time and I can’t wait to watch a truly blind playthrough!
I love a blind play through. Was laughing at the ‘let’s throw a barrel from far away at the wall so it doesn’t hit with full force’ moment.
(nah, who am I kidding, you already are...)
Have fun with Breath of the Wild! -- pekay
PEKAY! Pokemon Mystery Dungeon coming up next ;) jk... unless?
I played through this game about two years ago and fell in love with it! Which assuming by the number of videos you've posted that I've gotta bimge, you did too! 😅 I never got to fully finish the game but I know the full storyline because I've seen others in my family play through it! I never got to finish it because after a long trip to Puerto Rico, we were coming back home amd getting gas when someone stole my dad's suitcase out of our trailer and only took the Nintendo Switch with Zelda BOTW on it. 😂 Anyways, if anyone who stole a suitcase out of the back of a trailer connected to a Volkswagen van is reading this, I'D LIKE MY SWITCH BACK PLEASE.
just here, working and giggling at things like " there is no fall damage" " there is fall damage" ª I will enjoy this play trough
Man I love seeing blind playthroughs of this game, its such a cool way of seeing how different people played and perspected it than when I played it
That ending!!!! I don't know how many times I've died in that exact same way... every single time I replay the game. 😂
Ryan, I appreciate your approach to doing this set of walkthroughs. Hope you enjoy learning to play it. Thank you for sharing it with us. 🙂
Gonna say before I even get into this video, I've recently discovered your skyrim playthrough and have been binging that, and a thought I've had several times this past week or two was "Man it'd be cool if he played Breath of the Wild too."
So imagine my surprise and joy when I saw this video pop up in my recommendation.

MUCH EXCITE 💙💙💙
I first played this in late 2020 when I first bought myself a Switch. It's THICK. Enjoy!
YESSSS!!!! Hype since the new one is coming very soon! Love Your Commentary, Puzzle Solving and Positivity Always.
Super stoked to see you start playing The Legend of Zelda in general, hope you love it =)
Blind playthroughs of botw are rare as gold these days, can't wait to binge this!
I love it ❤
Well crap oda , thank you for the kind words 😅💙
I am so, so excited to watch this game from the perspective of fresh eyes. Very fun first video!
I’m so excited you are playing this! I hope you enjoy it!
Glad to know that the WIld is Breathing
Just don't stop playing. You will fall in love with this game
Oh god the nostalgia of the first playthrough. This will keep me company until tears of the kingdom comes out 😅
Wow Hollow Knight into Breath of the Wild! You’re too good to me Ryan
Love watching someone play a game fresh, especially one of my favorites of all time. I will enjoy watching your journey!
13:10 Love how he predicts the series would be 20 episodes when its actually 173
BOTW is my fav game of all time! So happy to see a blind playthrough :)
I can tell already im going to love watching this. You have the right idea as to how blind playthroughs should be done. And you get why i want to watch them. I love this game cant wait to see you play it for the first time.
welcome in :)
This was my very first Zelda game I ever played too. You're going to love it.
Years lathers, that opening still gives me goosebumps
