Thanks. Well done, good to see the road and rail damage up close. I drove on that road in trucks for years but live in Aussie now since late 80s. Sad to see it in that state. It has such an eerie feeling when you watch it.
Thank you for the video update, Jackson. It is good to see that most of the railway tunnels were still open and that the authorities have managed bypasses around some of the major landslips.
Thanks for that, I drove on that part 6 weeks ago and sometimes i think hmmm..... did I dodge a bullet It gives me great insight of what has happen well done mate Paul
Given the risk of aftershocks and further slides, I don't pretend to know if you're incredibly brave or insanely careless about your safety. However, that is a mighty sobering and scary scene. Thanks for uploading.
You are amazing the things you had to go through to get to your destination it was so awesome watching this video im so interested about Chch as my son lives there.
It was amazing to see and you had some balls going through those tunnels, but you need steady-cam, or even a drone flying behind you, I almost threw up my tea watching your jerky vid !
Considering that here had just been a major earthquake, the rock-falls were very unstable, and aftershocks could occur at any time. You are so very wrong.
sorry about that I just filmed it with a GoPro strapped to my head thanks for trying to fallow anyway, Any ideas on how to take better footage when riding a 40year old road bike down a severely quake-damaged closed road and railway line out of my isolated home next time it happens to me?

Interesting! However, date wrong on your post (sorry to be a trainspotter). Earthquake in November (11) rather than December (12),
Cheers was just a bit of a muddle putting it up at midnight cheers for telling me fixed now
Guessing that narrow gauge track will be out of order for some time
That's normal gauge track in New Zealand
