    I don’t think I have ever been told or shown how to do this! It was one of those things you had to work out yourself. Definitely going to give the from the string approach a go… my wild one is too wild 😂

      Hi Michelle! Oh, we can talk about this in your lesson or in class! 👍
      And it’s true: I don’t see many tutorials on this…!
      Hope the ‘from the string’ approach works for you!

    Oh my... all the flashery of the violin. As it's usually largo that brings out foibles in disciplines such as voice, that's what I listen for. I can't keep up with this stuff- but the way Ertan Torgul cuts that lovely device in half, or Ahram Kim makes it moan like (nameless popular Turtkish singer)- these approaches impart your chosen instrument a character that we the people often don't get to hear. Everyone thinks of flash and flourish- but the violin's deeper, darker side brings out so much.
    I'm almost there in cutting up microphones to get it. That F in Evaristo. I've heard it played as a tone- then I've heard it as some neural meltdown of expression. Widely expressive instruments in the right hands. I'm impressed, after having heard just half of it for so long. Thanks for your insights to those who actually produce these sounds.

      @@violynnkuo Thanks for your own attentiveness. I enjoy the viols, as an outsider to them (it was always something else for me to pursue)- but the fact that the violin can stretch its voice beyond what we hear a la Quattro Stagioni's flurries or soli above an orchestra was a pet target of mine after mixing some for a Mr. Maksin's cello. I liken to the chalumeau of the clarinet, or the lower stops of harpsichord with leather, not plastic, plectra. There's a richness to be had from it. Usually, for me, the violins are up there with the other voices in chamber, but rarely, they have taken on their own pedestal. I asked Ahram Kim what strings she used, I knew not Super Sensitives- but she didn't say. I was too preoccupied during Ertan's appearance. They both get that mystic sound of breath. Think a tiny cello. That wide envelope. I used to think it stopped at the viola, but they got it. If anyone can appreciate that facet, you can. (And, monetized or not, the fact of your sharing your dedication with the World is remarkable. It is a gift to music in itself.)

      Hi John, thanks for commenting and watching!
      I didn’t do anything different in this video. 🙂 I think in previous videos, I was just contending with unpredictable wind gusts 💨 and my amazing video editor (AV Virtual Productions) had to apply “de-wind”!

    Thanks so much! That is a bow stroke that I have done, but couldn't explain exactly how I did it to students!!!! The farther contact point was the part I didn't realize that I was doing! This will help SO much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!😊

    So we use upper bow part for better richochet 4 strong right

    • @violynnkuo
      @violynnkuo  Год назад +1

      Hi Daniel, it depends on tempo/speed of the notes but generally speaking, yes, it’s approximately the upper part… But definitely feel it in your bow stick, learn how it behaves, and adjust accordingly.
