Honestly the best breed I've ever had the luck of raising, they are so loyal and intelligent. I've seen reddit posts about veterinarians naming the one breed they would never own which is a GSD and a french bulldog, they explain the hip issues and the bond you make creates such an intense heart break, which I totally get. There has not been a single day in which I would gladly give up half my life so my GSD could live longer.
Black and white and sable and gray German shepherds are really not that popualr but the best loyal loving caring and beautiful and amazing champions and perfect workers
This is the only kind of dog I want-a tan or sable colored GSD! A lot comes with owning and maintaining one, but I'm ready for the responsibility. I'd give just about anything to see their happy faces everyday!
You should follow Singleton Shepherds and Spragues Shepherds….they post everyday pics of their pups and adult dogs. They’re 2 great breeders. They have the rare coats and patterns, including an upcoming litter (Singleton Shepherds) is expecting sables, blues, livers, and pandas in a few weeks
I've personally had three German Shepherds. One black and sable - Dexter A.k.a The bark defender, one black and tan - Jax Smeller, and one white - Ghost. All AKC pure bred and all absolutely fantastic dogs in every way. Can't beat a well bred GSD in my opinion.
Anyone who thinks the color makes the dog is contradicting the father of the breed. Max von Stephanitz said temperament and functionality were the only things that matter. I got a WGSD and a BGSD. They are bigger and taller than most. They’re always ready and willing to protect us. They do bite work training.
I had a white GSD. 120 pounds (not fat) most gentle and loving dog with the family you can imagine, most scary intimidating dog when someone unknown approached the home. UPS and FedEx wouldn't come near the front door. As soon as he saw we were okay with someone, he was okay with them. Sadly, he had so many health problems that he passed at nine years after years of declining health. But when a stranger approached the door, you'd have thought he was a two year old dog at the height of his power. Gentle and sweet until the last day. Miss my Juno.
I’ve got a German Shepard blue but she’s more of a black& smoky grey and a very light tan on her legs, stomach and round the ears along with white on her chest as well as her bright blue eyes. I’ve got to say though she’s very lovable to everyone she meets but she’s very chaotic and gets up to mischief however she’s been a good distraction almost After the passing of my dad 4 months ago but she’s been one of the best German Shepard I’ve had out of the two I use to have when I was younger
After having a few different coat types. I am convinced that coat types also effects temperaments. I have had tan and black, sable tan, silver and black, and red and black. Red and black is my favorite temperament. They are brave and very loyal. The others are good too just not always as brave I currently have a silver and black... I love him but he's not brave, and he's a big baby in almost every way where the red and black really took care of me and loved doing new things because he was brave and confident.

Ive never had a better breed of dog than my German shepherds. I have a black with tan paws and a liver with tan paws they are so beautiful. Never was a fan of the white ones they even look different

Lol Yes, I've had three GSD's, two of the three being black and sable and white. People constantly think they're husky or wolf dogs. I've even been warned that wolf dogs are illegal. 😄

I had a Black and Red female German Shepherd, East German line that I got from a reputable breeder who gets them through imports. She was 24inch and 92lbs She was big for a female many people who stopped to look at her thought she was a male because of her size. Her father was 125lbs and mother was 85. Truly a beautiful dog and very intelligent. After owning one I can't imagine owning any other breed. I want to get another one but the price is way to high now and I'm comparing them all to her sadly :(
You forgot the Panda Shepherd. I have a Panda Sable. The Panda is a rare, purebred GSD with a white blaze on the face and other areas, mine has a white tipped tail. It is sometimes called tri-colored or piebald and was a recent mutation in a puppy born in a litter by a German female in 2000. Unfortunately, it is not a color allowable in AKC conformation because white is considered a fault but my girl’s working line lineage and incredible intelligence makes her perfect for sport. Genetics testing has found that the Panda gene is dominant so maybe we will see more of them in the future and white will become acceptable in the ring. It seems very shortsighted to fault a dog for some white when they are the exact same breed..but that’s politics!
Not true. In the AKC, at least, sable is an accepted color (only colors faulted are blue, liver, and white). Preference in AKC has been with saddle-backed red/tan and black dogs to the point that sable has mostly been bred out of American lines.

I told him if he one day has one a different color can I have it,he laugh and said yes and mumbled to my friend he will wait for ever for that🤣 the next litter had a black and tan female
Hi, i love the videos you do. Do you have an idea how can we know if the german shepherd puppy will have a black mask in the future? We bought 3 long hair gsds to have the full black mask after 6 months they turned light mask.
The problem is that you really don't know until they are fully grown. You can have a idea but they change the color from full black to the other colors. Only white still white.
A Sable will start out tan as it grows the tan turns to a black mix. My friend sold all the tan pups. 2 months later the new owners were Very upset their bodies turned to a black mix. The didn't have a little prancing lion cub anymore. I watch the sables and the other color combinations. To me the Sables have a different temperament. They seem to want to guard and protect more.
I thought that German Shepard’s we’re all the same tan and black color, my neighbor has a young female German Shepherd that’s all black that jumps into my back yard along with other peoples yards. I didn’t know that there was all black Germans Shepherd and the dog that jumps in my yard act kind of like a lab but is definitely a Shepherd so I thought that it was a Shepherd Labrador mix, but now I’m not so sure.
I miss my all black German Shepard. Some kids thought he was a wolf. But he was a slut for belly rubs, treats and playing with balls. He was a good loud guard dog, especially when I was late teens and my parents when for a date night or weekend away. If something creaked and Max didn’t stir from his nap on the sofa, all good. If he was allowed in my room I’d have him snoozing with me on my bed

My GSD was predominantly black when we got him at 30 days old. He's 2.5 months old now and the colour of his coat is changing from black to Golden. Is this normal?

The pup we just got had an almost all brown faced. I’m having a hard time finding other examples of this. 🤔

I didn’t even know number 1 was common. The most I’ve seen and the color everyone identifies it with where I’m from is brown and black.
