- I told you the second part of the dash wiring was coming soon. So the main part is done. There are a few little details to be added but these are just... details LOL
Nice job figuring it all out !
I'm so glad that we could all help you work through your fears of dashboard wiring. You're almost finished. Hang in there.
Well done Elin, that is always a great job to have sorted. Kind regards, Richard.
Thanks Richard
Well done Elin. I don’t get electricery!!
Enjoying the videos whilst in Vancouver on holiday.
Racing my 3a again mid August back in the UK. 👍👍
Good job, Elin. Now I know how I'm going to go through all of my dash troubleshooting! Oh, and as far as needing them only for reading...you wait! I wear cheaters in the garage almost all the time, now.
Spitfire is much easier. I remember on mine I almost did it without the wiring diagram. About the cheaters... yeah, I am getting addicted :(
well done! . You tell that you were excited it went off without a "shock" :)
Nice job. Sure is a good looking dash.
Thanks Tony!
I really like wireing. This looks like fun! Better than body work anyways.
Yeah, I do a lot of troubleshooting on old limos built in one way and then modified dozens of times over the years. Hanging wires, cut wires, spliced wires.... Usually it is a mess and it takes me a few hours to figure what does what before I find out there is a lose connection or a popped inline fuse, which someone thought it would be a good idea to install under a seat or behind a bar LOL So I like spaghetti too LOL
Great job, that's what I did on my TR3 this weekend, still have more wiring to check out, glad yo could figure it out. I'm still trying, ha!.
Ooh! @14:56 my OCD just flipped! The light switch (as all switches) are 'On' in the lower position and 'Off' in the upper position. Its upside down .... But really good job again Elin. Nice and steady and logical - its all you can be when doing wiring looms. I always say to friends doing rebuilds to take photographs of every switch and gauge before removing plugs and cables.
In Uk, up is off and down is on, so switch orientation is correct,,
That is what I said:
'On = Down' and 'Off = Up'
The 2 graphics on the switch confirm that:
No graphic = off, small graphic = sidelights and large graphic = headlights. Check where the switch is @ 21:55 -its upside down
By the way I am in the UK ....
Thanks for that. I've been many times in the UK and never noticed that LOL. Anyway, it is corrected now!
Awesome videos!!!! I'm wiring a 1972 and having a bit of issues...Any suggestions where to find the wiring schematics??? Thanks!!!
Thanks! www.advanceautowire.com/tr2506.pdf
@@RustyBeauties Thanks brotha that is just what I needed...I work at a restoration and collision shop...We have a 71and a 72 Tr6 that are complete frame offs..I have learned so much from watching your channel!!! Thanks a million!!!
I'm sure you have heard this but, The reason the British drink warm beer is because their refrigerators have Lucas electrical systems. All hail the prince of darkness 'John Lucas'.
1960s Triumph motorcycles with Lucas electrics all came with a bag of carrots so we could see in the dark .....
Yes, you haven't lived until you have driven your Triumph motorcycle home at night by the the light of the parking light only.
Parking lights? Eee when I were a lad we had fork handles - sorry four candles - One in front, one on the back and one in each hand for indicators ...
LOL, like I said below. I've never experienced warm beer in the UK. And I didn't have just a few, I had a lot LOL
First!
