Good news Henry, my speedo played up too, but I jacked the car first off and ran with cable disconnected at the dash first (it was an easy reach) and found that the cable was already turning so knew it was the strain on the dash connection. The tacho (rev) always are delayed in firing up as there is wax that softens to aid dampening, it's quite clever how it works. Do you have your wires around the right way for the overdrive, you did show it in a previous email when taking the gearbox out :) Appreciate these little updates & fixes.
Nice one, Henry... love the Stag
Me too! And I know I can enjoy it for the rest of the summer now. Although I will have to sort the overdrive

I'm guessing the wires are the wrong way around or I've knocked one loose when fixing the speedo. I've not had the chance to look yet
