I tried to pay out of pocket but was told, "We work and are captive with the Insurance Company". I flew to another country and had the surgery performed.
My lung cancer surgery is in a couple weeks. Had the initial screening two weeks ago. Gave up smoking 8 years ago, but I'm 66, so... looks like early diagnosis. My head is swimming but I'm cautiously optimistic. I appreciate the education.
Wishing you all the luck!...My father has just been diagnosed without any other tests apart from a catscan...Due to his age biopsy has been ruled out and 90% malignancy given, prognosis...
Verm helpful. I have recently been told I have a 15mm lung nodule in the left lower lobe. I am a 64 year old female, otherwise healthy The radiologist impression was "favor infectious or inflammatory over neoplasm." I will be seeing a pulmonologist soon. I have never smoked and have no family history of lung cancer. I wonder if a PET scan would relieve my concerns. Again, thank you for the information.
Recently found out that I have a 20mm nodule in the right lung and Hilar Density. Waiting for the CT scan report to come back. Family history of cancer and I used to smoke, 47 years worth. Hoping and praying for good news.
@@emesass5959 The results came back and they indicated that it was nothing. Huh? Nothing to worry about, I sure hope they are right. Now they are saying that I have a 2.2cm mass on the tail of my pancreas. I just had an MRI done, waiting on the results of that.
@@davidjennings2733 so it is not 20 mm. That is good. I am in Canada and I don't know if I agree with "monitoring". Then it grows and I have to have surgery. They are also removing lymph nodes. Two and a half years ago I was diagnosed with stage three emphazima...have been on oxygen since then...doing some research I found that Cleveland Clinic did a procedure that could help my disease and keep me from being dependent on oxygen..did a skillion tests and everything long favorable till my last and recent test showed a 6mm ...very small..but none the less a nodule on my right lung.. Have an a appointment August 8 ...so tired of being tethered to oxygen...long process ...many tests..passed them all till now....say a little prayer for me please...docs are great but appointments take forever...be well y’all...💗
I have to nodules in my upper left lung. One is 2 cm one is 6.cm. I have a follow-up with a second scan next week. Should I be concerned? I was never a heavy smoker but I have not smoked in 44 years.
If it grows you need to have it remove. Doctors were watching mine and my CT Scan last week showed it grew and I have a phone consult with a Surgeon in 2 weeks. Was told it has to come out as well as lymph nodes. Won't know if it's Cancer until Pathology comes back. I never smoked but have severe Asthma. Anything over 3 mm needs to come out, anything small Doctors will only monitor.
@@emesass5959 did you mean anything over 3cm needs to come out? 3mm is very very small and an extremely low likelihood of cancer. 5mm is even almost too small to remove.
@@devicemechanix9049 My nodule turned into a tumor and I found out yesterday it was Cancer. In Canada (at least) a Doctor won't operate on a small size. But if something GROWS it MUST come out. My Cancer is Adenocarcinoma. I was told for 2 years it's size did not qualify for surgical intervention. The surgery was extremely painful as was having a Chest Tube in for 5 days (I had some complications).
@@emesass5959 sorry to hear that. My question though was the unit of measurement. If you have a 3CM nodule that’s 30mm and definitely needs to come out. If you have a 3mm nodule the risk is almost zero.
I have a 3mm middle lung nodule that my doctor didn’t decide to tell me about . Hopefully it’s nothing because I worry a lot. after reading my own medical chart, I bumped along it and I just messaged my doctor about it
The nodule size and cancer risk chart at 6 minutes, does that lung cancer percentage rate include smokers? If a lifelong smoker, do those percentages increase? And to what percentage?
I had a CT last March and it was 5 mm or less according to my new Pulmonologist and last week it was 11.9 and I have two enlarged lymph nodes on my trachea and my right lung. I'm just lost on all this and not sure I understand why I'm going through all this if this says I don't need the tests I'm having to got through
I am 29 yr old I have a 2.5 cm lower left lung nodule. I've had a needle biopsy with no answers, cts, pet scans, and now they are going to give me surgery .still no clue what it is!!??? Should I even be getting surgery?? I'm so scared
What about the naive doctor that saw nodules in my moms ovarian area. He diagnosed her with STUMP and watched her nodules for a year. Her records screened ovarian cancer. They said the histology didn’t look like ovarian cancer. I begged him to biopsy it. After a year he finally did a biopsy told my mom she had stage 4 ovarian cancer. He said after her surgery robotic hysterectomy a year before the diagnosis that the tissue they had wasn’t enough of tissue to test for cancer. She had every symptom of cancer. They failed her miserably. She has 2 primary cancers. Triple negative breast cancer and a aggressive ovarian cancer ( both primary)
