He is great! He talked to my 12 year old nephew as Maynard on the phone before he went on a ride in a NASCAR here in Phoenix. My nephew was terminal and this was a Make A Wish. He passed away about 4 weeks later, but he sure did make him laugh and smile! He watched that show several times a day!
I can say I Witnessed you many times at the Comedy corner on Dixie highway in West palm Beach. along with many other comics back in the late 80s early 90s. Thank you for all your years of service in the comedy industry. Love you bro! live on!
I loved this interview!! Big fan of Larry the Cable Guy=Just wonderful to see he kept his midwest roots and hard work venue at the forefront of the path to success. He is displaying his FAITH as the sustaining path to eternal salvation and very open to displaying this to all of mankind and not letting the pop culture of the "world" leading people astray!! You indeed are an American Hero!!!
MY DAD & HIS COUSIN USE TO HAVE A USED GOLFBALL SALES BUSINUSS WE WOULD DIVE IN THE LAKES ON THE GOLF COURSES & ONE LAKE WAS IN JOHNNY MILLERS BACKYARD SOMETIMES JOHNNY WOULD COME OUT & BULLSHIT WITH THEM ALSO IF UR EVER AT A DRIVING Range hitting a ball with a red stripe ON IT ME & 2 OF MY BROTHERS ARE THE LNES WHO PUT THOSE STKPES ON EVERY CERGIFIED DIVER HAS THEIR PERDONALCOLOR AND ARES HAS. BEEN RED FOR OVER 50 YEARS NOW
Thank you Dan for reminding us of what life is all about bro !!!! keep on keepin on. A prime example of what working hard and praying harder can accomplish in ones life !! God Bless you and your family .... Praise the Lord there are still people like you left in this world !!!
As an urban, centrist-liberal intellectual-I would love to get to know this guy, to trade stories, find out about each other’s lives, and share different oerspectives in the spirit of sharing, understanding, and enjoying.
Larry woke up my faith in Christ like tractor tipping! I've been following Jesus since I was 16; and have seen humbling trouble, tragedy, and failure. I would have had a better time had I known I would live thru it. By now, I have more confidence and joy at the thought of Jesus returning.
He came into the Monte Bleu casino cigar lounge in Lake Tahoe a few years back, sat next to me and he was a great guy and told a ton of funny stories and entertained the whole group, signed autographs and we had a blast...took a few pictures with him and just love this guy...
What a great interview. The exchange was a conversation that kept me engaged throughout. I have more respect for Larry the Cable guy, which I already held in high regard. Mrs. Loren did a wonderful professional job.
I truly enjoyed seeing the awards in your mancave. I am a country boy at 64 years. I too grew up spending time at the Roseville ca cattle auction with my Dad salering our cattle .I loved raising hogs. Your my favorite comedian of all time thank you.🤠John Wunschel Placerville ca
Used to work construction in the Melbourne area and listened to Larry 'What the Hell is this, Russia' Cable Guy radio commentaries in the mid-90s. On our crew we decided it was in the best interest of safety to take our break when Larry was on because we would laugh so hard we couldn't do anything anyway.
I really enjoyed this interview. I've always been a fan of Larry the cable guy, and it was nice to get a glimpse into who he really is. This video didn't pop up on my home page by chance. I needed to see this tonight. His faith, morals, and passion to just make people happy is admirable. The buckles he was awarded being his favorites over everything else shows were his heart and soul really lie.
I got to see the Blue Collar comedy show in the Thousand Oaks theater around 2000. Larry was the last performer. I had never heard of him. I thought he was the funniest one. I was puzzled about that at the time. Sure am happy to see him do so well.
So many truths in this video especially his remarks about being kind to people and the sky is the limit to what you can achieve as well as his thoughts on being a Jesus follower. Keep up the good work!
Christina, great inside interview with Larry the cable guy. That's what I know him by. Probably not his real name. I'll have to rewatch to see what was written on that 1st check. Thanks for bringing all the pieces of his life together in 60 minutes. What a great legacy and inspiration to share with the world. If he ever gets lost in Kentucky, have him call me. Would love to sit down with him. All the best to you.
Johnny Carson is the most Famous Celebrity from Nebraska. and Oh yeah, Carson and I got our Bachelor's Degree from the University of NE...take that you Ivy League Snobs. Henry Fonda used to be second most famous, but Larry the Cable Guy took his place as Henry was a Star during my parent's Generation. thanks for the Video and showing us Dan Whitney, his lovely wife and family. Nebraska...The Good Life.
I can so relate to his relationship with his dad- I grew up on a dairy farm in Minnesota-,I loved my dad & he loved me- but all we ever did together was work.
I’m late to the party having never seen this video but I’m still going to comment. Kudos to you Christina for your interview and kudos to Dan/Larry for who he is and what he personifies. He displays what is good and wholesome about this country as opposed to whats going on now and what gets all the news time. I could go on and on and on about this interview but I’ll spare people from a novel. Job well done and Thank you Dan!!!
My wife and I on a monster truck team based out of Missouri and two things he said in the video resonate with me. It's show business. Everybody wants to be in the spotlight, but nobody wants to stay up until 6 am from the day before to get the truck ready for next show. It's way more work than most people realize. The other thing is the feeling you get when you make a kid that's seeing them for the first time, smile. Most drivers will tell you, "It's all about the kids." I will tell you if you do it for any other reason, it just isn't worth it. It's good to know that Larry (Dan) seems to be just as genuine behind the scenes as he does in real life.
Such a huge fan of your comedy and life! Moved to Lincoln in 1997, good at financial, construction and comedy! Would love to help you expand your career, you are unique and what we need now!
LOL, that trailer thing we called "Cattle Trucks" and thats how we got moved in the Infantry to ranges or to airfields before Parachute jumps. Solid walls though and man, that heat would kill you. Add a helmet and rucksack. LOL, still grateful for water and a bed.
will share this because it is amazing. It moves on from his career and success to his life with his wife and then his life trying to live up to being Christian. I'm quite religious, and can say he kind of nails it. People do not understand that we are to develop a love for our loving father and religion is the process, but religion is the bible and I will add the church too, but don't get hung up on the people who are varied.
Dan is awesome, he dated my friend Tara in Orlando. He met here on my shoulders at earth day birthday 2 . Downtown Orlando. I was dating Cathy , Tara's best friend. 1996-7
Great GREAT interview Christina.. What a great soul he is. He's such an inspiration to so many. I'll have to say though, The Blue Collar Tour was without a doubt, the most hilarious compilation of comical work I've ever witnessed in my life.. It's been over 10 years and my cheeks and jaw are still sore from laughing so hard. Not for anything but!! Laughing is the healthiest thing you can ever do besides breathing Oxygen.. P hysically and mentally.. Personally!! I can't thank you enough.. We love you Larry!!
Very nice and interesting interview, glad Larry made his way to success being down to earth & funny as hell. Well done Christina ! Cheers from Texas, 🤠

God Bless you're nephew. Thanks for sharing.

Don’t know how I stumbled across this video, but so thankful I did! It just warms my heart when a celebrity praises Jesus!
I can say I Witnessed you many times at the Comedy corner on Dixie highway in West palm Beach. along with many other comics back in the late 80s early 90s. Thank you for all your years of service in the comedy industry. Love you bro! live on!

Larry the Cable Guy, A true American treasure.
I always knew he looked like a guy named Dan Whitney! Jesus has kept this awesome man grounded
His funniest line I have heard: A woman yells from his audience: "I luv you Larry"
He shouts back "I thought I told you to stay in the truck"
Now *that* right there is funny, I don't care who you are!!🤣
MY DAD & HIS COUSIN USE TO HAVE A USED GOLFBALL SALES BUSINUSS WE WOULD DIVE IN THE LAKES ON THE GOLF COURSES & ONE LAKE WAS IN JOHNNY MILLERS BACKYARD SOMETIMES JOHNNY WOULD COME OUT & BULLSHIT WITH THEM ALSO IF UR EVER AT A DRIVING Range hitting a ball with a red stripe ON IT ME & 2 OF MY BROTHERS ARE THE LNES WHO PUT THOSE STKPES ON EVERY CERGIFIED DIVER HAS THEIR PERDONALCOLOR AND ARES HAS. What a great person never knew any of this.
If I had FOUR hands, this interview would get FOUR THUMBS UP!! Dan/"Larry" is sooooo down-to-earth.
Great guy. Glad u all done this video.great contents
He is spiritual AND his son is a Packers' fan! ❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome program. Agree with his point about comedy today going for applause not laughs. Country needs more like this guy.
We need more men like him in America. God, Mom, & apple pie. Down home values.
That was a great interview Christina, you kept it going, the questions kept his story blending into one after another.👏
he reminds of a guy i used to work with. hard-working, forthright, always made you laugh.
I wish we had more guys like him.
Long live Larry, he is awesome!!!
Not a whole lot of extended interviews available of him as Dan Whitney/not as Larry. Thanks for this.

The best part? His witness!
Congratulations on the best Larry interview ever recorded!
