After you finish an area, the random encounters are disabled and the area becomes populated with NPCs of the monsters you fought in that area.
@SpeedyCheetahCub I started Undertale in 2020 and didn't know that Aaron had a room sprite. I guess I never went to check that area. Lol
@@kip9484 I only found out because I did a pacifist playthrough where I backtracked through each area after beating the boss before I moved on, so I got to see what they all looked like in color.
