It feels so nice to see you so happy and in a good place 💕 Edinburgh is definitely my happy place, I’ve spent five months there, was living alone for the first time, abroad for the first time, partied for the first time, met my boyfriend and so many other wonderful things 🥰 Enjoy it for me ❤️
So very proud of your candidness Lia ! It’s easy to share when everything is going well but you are so transparent about the ups and downs of life’s journey ! I hope you have a wonderful time sweet girl ! You deserve it ! Be safe and enjoy ! 🐝😊💕
That sounds like a lovely and special getaway! I think it's important once in awhile to take trips on our own so we aren't always preoccupied with someone else's comfort and can really zero in on enjoying ourselves in an environment that we choose for ourselves. Of course it's always fun to travel with a friend as well! But both ways are equally enriching I think! Have a great time, and hopefully we will hear how it went!
I'm with you... impulsive & traveling by yourself is out of my comfort zone as well, but when I do, it's exciting & good encouragement for me to do it again in the future. Thank you sweet girl for sharing all of your heart with us. Much love!❤️❤️
This is so brilliant Lia! I love when we hop out of our comfort zones for a 'wee' while (see what I did there lol) it's nourishing for the soul. You have such a great love for comedy too and it shows. You and Joel are super funny and brilliant. Looking forward to any future vlogs
Oh, spontaneous trips or anything is what makes life fun. Love to see women who are not afraid to do things on their own AND who are so supportive of other women - good on ya!!. Your life will be much richer the more you stretch those beautiful wings!! Have a great time!
Ahh, Edinburgh! What a romantic city!! Hope you have a magnificent trip, Lia! Hopefully the Festival and Fringe for me in 2020 or 2021. Japan is on my bucket list as well. My mom lived there for a long time and had a fantastic experience. Blessings to you!
Have you heard of a Scottish RUclipsr named Shaun? He does Scotland vs U.S. vids & travel vlogs. He just put out an Edinburgh Fringe festival vlog last week. He seems like a lot of fun & you two would get along smashingly. Lol. I wonder if he will be there when you are. You should check out his channel. The photography in his travel vlogs are gorgeous. Have fun & be safe. Love ya xoxo
Very excited for you! That is awesome! I hope you follow through with Japan too. I think you will really enjoy it. I lived there for 2 years while in the navy and I lived it! I loved hopping on the trains and exploring. If I got lost, people always helped me; even when we didn’t speak the same language.
I would go EVERYWHERE all the time! I just drove from northern Washington State to Texas, in 4 days. It was just under 2600 miles (via Cali & the desert). The fact that you can visit Scotland, Wales, France, etc. any time you want... makes me so jealous!
I went to Edinburgh 3 years ago when I visited the UK. We went to Roslin Chapel and drove around the city. I even stayed at the Rosslyn inn. Didn't get to spend much time in the city, as we had to hurry on to the next stop in the journey.
Lia I hope that you enjoy your trip to Edinburgh, and do some networking and self care, sometimes you just have to do something spontaneous and fun. Thanks for letting us know the cost of things while will never probably get to Europe experiencing it through you is just fine ,we all need to take time away from our normal lives and experience something else, even if it is something small like going to a new place in your own town.
I’ve been to Edinburgh twice & absolutely love it!! My family is planning another trip to there & the rest of Scotland next year. We take the train up from London. It’s only 5 1/2 hours & you get to see the English countryside. Last time we went we stayed on The Royal Mile across from St Giles Church. It was AMAZING!! Have a wonderful time!! Such an awesome energy there.
Huntington Beach in California is a special place for myself and my fiancee. It was the first time that she had ever seen the Pacific Ocean. We spent a few hours walking and hanging out on the pier.
At some point all of us need that space to just be and reconnect with ourselves. So go, enjoy, and just be in that element that is simply you. Oh, and if you feel up to it, maybe you might want to vlog about it!😁
I used to be very intimidated traveling on my own but now I enjoy it every once in a while. I started out on my trip to France with friends, they didn't want to go to Paris because they had been several times before but I wasn't going to fly all the way to France and just connect through Paris and not see it so I tacked on 3 days. I did the same in Italy tacking on a trip to Venice. After each trip I found myself feeling a lot more independent and now wouldn't give it another thought to just go somewhere I wanted to go. Good on you for supporting female artists. Hope you enjoy your trip and come back feeling energized.
The Minneapolis Fringe Fest just wrapped Sunday. I saw a Ballet based on Super Heroes, a historical drama about New York Beat poets, a Game of Thrones parody musical comedy.
Same lia. I got the train from where I live in Newcastle. Went all by myself and just checked the festival out. Love it go every year. I love mae Martin too. So funny!
Went to GB last year to relish in my English/Scottish heritage. Traveled by train from King's Cross to Edinburgh's Waverly last year (about 8 hrs) for the Festival and the Military Tattoo. Stayed in Leith AirBnB. What an amazing time. What an amazing place. What an amazing experience. Americans love Scotland.
I heart Scotland so much. My DNA's happy place and feels like home to me. Going again in September right after my week in London! Enjoy and have a fabulous time!
So glad you’re nourishing your inner funny woman! The trip sounds very similar in distance/cost to an overnight from LA to San Francisco, just fyi for general knowledge.
This is so me lol 😂. Great your doing a spur of the moment trip ! It’s so lovely there as you said. I hope you have a wonderful and safe trip. You glow with happiness 😊💕
I'm so proud of you for being so adventurous and spontaneous! I had an American friend who went to University in Edinburgh and he ended up marrying the British gal who gave him the tour! 💕 Have fun! Much love from Jean in California ❤
Lia, don't forget in your plans that we need you to look after our boy Joel. He seems much better cared for and content when you're nearby. I like to see both of you happy, darling girl.
I am going to London by myself next month! It wasn't as spontaneous as your trip (since I'm from Brazil and that requires a lot of planning!) but I am also very excited 🤩 and that is doing something veeery out of my comfort zone. So happy for you!!! Have loads of fun girllll
Nice Mariana.I did three weeks in Europe a few months ago but with a friend.Think I’m going to travel solo next time too :) Cool your from Brazil. I did Panama City and Medellin Colombia last year.LOVED it.I definitely want to do Brazil next time I’m in that region as well 😊 Lot’s of love from California 👍🏾👍🏾 Peace
Edinburgh is on my own bucket list! My ancestors built Craigmiller castle and immigrated to the States in the 1600's. Would love to visit. Have a blast!!
Thanks for sharing, Lia. My daughter and I will fly from London to Edinburgh in October. It’s good to know how much airport transport and Uber might cost! Very helpful. Enjoy yourself 😄
swan, thanks for the suggestion. We are definitely touring via train and also renting a car while in Scotland so we can take in the beautiful scenery. ❤️
I love Edinburgh. Was there for Fringe way back in 2000. Great city. Flew over to London from the United States then took the train so I could see the English countryside enroute. Stayed at a hotel in New town on Claremont Crescent. Your trip cost is very reasonable. Have a wonderful time☆☆ 🏴
I am so happy for you! It's good to get away once in a while on your own. Please stay aware of your surroundings and your valuables. I know I sound like your father but I want you to have a great time and enjoy your experience. Have lots of fun and stay safe dear Lia! Can't wait to see what you did up there! ♥️🛫🎭
Lia, Mr. Symons is giving you the best advice because, like all of us, he loves you. May I add, in the city, always travel in pairs (or even groups). There was a time when that wasn't necessary, even in Paris, but no longer, I'm afraid. Be both safe and happy, my darling.
Wait! Did you just laugh about your mom being a 50 year old that loves thrills? Lol FYI speaking as someone approaching 50, many of us still like thrills and are not dead yet😂😂
I totally understand! San Francisco is a 8 hour drive from Southern California but a 30 minute flight and it really is a getaway because it's so different from LA.

Good for you! It takes confidence to do things on your own. I think that’s really healthy for you. Enjoy yourself Sweetie ❤️
Self care is so important. Glad you are making certain to enjoy yourself. A getaway and indulging in favorite activities is great for balance. Yay!
Good for you, Lia!! Wise to get back in touch with your entertainment goals, as well as giving yourself a bit of fun!
That sounds like an amazing trip to do I hope you have fun Lia 😊
Thanks Zayra x
Love Edinburgh fantastic place. I’ve just booked a trip to New York and Vegas on my own....... living the dream. 🥳🥳🥳😁😁😁
I'm with you... impulsive & traveling by yourself is out of my comfort zone as well, but when I do, it's exciting & good encouragement for me to do it again in the future.

It's all about the Royal Mile..... Also, don't know what your budget is, but look at this GORGEOUS hotel: www.thewitchery.com/
Royal mile is definitely on our list. I want to see castles too.

Cheers Kathy! X
Oh I wish Joel was going! I hope you have a wonderful time! I actually wish I was going! Lol! Love 💘you!
Tickets for one Broadway show are more than your entire series costs. Aren't you the lucky one! Enjoy!!!
Thats CRAZY! Broadway is so expensive & unfortunately inaccessible for many
I’ve seen some videos of you and Joel acting and you were so funny!!!
I love Fringe! Enjoy! You should come to Orlando's in the Spring. The Orlando Fringe is home to the longest running Fringe Fest in the U.S.
Would love to see a Bucket List video. Maybe a personal one and a JoelLia one? 😊
So jealous!!! I want to just spend like a month in Scotland.
