Most of all the original ravers in the 70's listened to Coxsone Sound in London ...I was one of them from Four 4 ACES to Metro to Brixton Town Hall you name it I was there Bless
Coxone sound was awesome in the 70s I heard some tunes that were never released or I've heard since. One tune by Royal Rasses it wasn't Humanity or Kingston 11 which Festus played in Georgian club in East Croydon and 4 Aces. I've tried to investigate about the tune but to no avail. The other tune was either Augustus Pablo or Bobby Kalaphat on melodica with a lead guitar riff in fact Denzil who in my view was one of best mic men from that era was the one to play that particular tune. I was 16 or 17 when I used to listen Coxone in 4 aces on a Wednesday night which finished in the morning. I had college Thursday morning that's what I call bleaching. Trust me those days were so good it's hard to explain. Got to mention Pebbles aka Marvin Jones who was originally with Sufferer sound and left to be the mic man Coxone.
Blessings Coxsone was something else the 70s and early 80s the setting up running wire's double bass boxes as a youth/yout, watching then the testing of the sound how I miss the atmosphere proper tings No slackness the odd scuffle with the gate man but proper tunes ah drop, deejays ah gwan then the trode home discussing the night with your spars lol 😆 always enjoyed Coxsone, again BLESSINGS
Hello brother I remember 4 Aces Kingsland station is built along its foundations if you didn't know the gentleman in their fine locks and men in the most outrageous colour suits standing and posing outside the under the lamplight . I was a skinhead and we followed the blasting sounds coming out of the night in someone's house/flat getting closer and feeling the bass . Knock on the door ! Corridor stairs hallway cramed only room in the dance room the like the rest of the house was very foggy hahaha . What days . Changed from skinhead after to many were following NF so I became a suedehead . 🇬🇧
Coxone sound will never be the same without blacka and festus at the control pure old school memories. Ranking dread is wicked on the microphone. Every sound in England wanted to be like sir coxone sound there standards were so high fresh dub plates and pre release from Jamaica before anyone else.
Lots of combinations on the Letter From Zion Riddim. Yes, Sir Coxsone Outernational at their excellent best. Open The Gates Babylon. Thanks for this killer session.

My first big dance was a Coxsone dance at St. Giles community center in Camberwell 1976. This tape just transported me back in time.
