I've had this flashlight for quite some time now and I wanted to check your review out because you are the best - and I may get another one!! I still learned a few things because of your review. The main one was I DO NOT HAVE the V2!! You are so good I make sure I watch them all and when I saw your specs I checked mine and realized this is V2. So, thanks. I ordered it! BTW, I love the 'V1' which I purchased in June 2022. The Metal Grey is nice. I got the Black in V2. Thanks again!!
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Good to know. It's arriving Tuesday so I will check the differences that night. Good to see you only worship Phil Collins. Nice choice on drummers, also ;-)
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Drums are my fav instrument but his vocals impressed me more early on. He is a lefty so his drumming is different sounding. BTW I just got the flashlight delivered and charged it and I like this one and I compared the beams (V1:V2) on the ceiling and will go out tonight but I see the difference. I like it and thanks again.
I don't know, maybe it's just me but this V2 reminds me of the Catapult SST70. It puts out more lumens than it's predecessor, but the beam is sloppy and it doesn't throw as far. I predict in a couple months they will come out with the Catapult Mini Pro and it will be the best of the three, just like they did with the Catapult V6 Pro. Thoughts?
The tn50 is the one want to buy next and review.. I just don’t know why no one else buys it.. every other flooder is raved about.. but that one.. and it’s specs look really good.. idk.. but I love my catapult v1.. I love the useless flood and tight beam. But I’m also accustomed to lep lol..
@@gernotboesser6901 yeah but turbo sustainability is my thing lol.. otherwise imalent would be on my door step.. I mean I say that and I have the ms18 lol..
Today I got it. Great light. There are a few things I think could be better, though. In my opinion the gaps between the three memorised modes are too small. And the gap between high and turbo is too big. Apart from that I notice that Thrunite with this light has departed from the function that is typical of that brand: after a short while being activated on mid or high it has stepped down before going up again, instead of up when you hold down the switch. Now it always steps up. This is a feature we can have different opinion about, of course. AND: I would like a tube for 18650 cell! It would heavily increase the runtime, and be better in the hand with a longer tube. The light would still remain being a compact thrower. By the way: I very much like the changed UI with a double tap going back to previous mode from turbo! Earlier it went to strobe.
IMO it hasn't improved that much at all. If you're looking for throw the V1 is better - 10:08 at less than half of the lumens of the V2 it out throws it hands down. If you want a bit more of flood, the V2 is for you.
While I'm a Thrunite fan, I find this one a bit disappointing. My Speras M4 (approx same size) does over 100kcd and is a lot cheaper. My little cheap Convoy has a smaller reflector and does 135 kcd. Nice review though.

I do like TIR lenses but the V1 doesn't have enough power to provide confidence inspiring flood. The V2 is a great alternative without a pencil beam.

@G MaC V1 spill is too dim and the beam too narrow. But I suppose longer range and runtimes if you need over 200m!! Most folks don't
Great review as always. 👌😁

A few have had Turbo issues but this one is great.
@@AverageReviewsYT The TN50 is about 5 years old. Since then many new powerful emitters appeared on the scene.
@@AverageReviewsYT acebeam X80-GT 2 is double the output and smaller, that’s probably why people aren’t interested in the TN50

Do you really need to go through the Low-Mid-High every time to get to Turbo? Because it looks that way from your video.
No. Double tap from on or off.

Great review as always looks a nice little pocket torch with a good beam throw for EDC👍🏻
Other than increased output, how has it improved on V1?

Does it charge with a C-to-C cable?
Yes, maybe not with some high watt PD outputs though.
ui similar to manker mc13
Which torch would you recommend with the bset throw please?
Around £75ish - thanks
Compact or larger light?
