Felix Immler man I subbed just because... well first I clicked on it because I had to hear what you sounded like, then I was like damn this gets me lol so I subbed
Felix, how are you doing? I really like your channel, but I noticed the official literature from Victorinox recommends people to avoid twisting or tilting the knife body when removing a cork. Yet you recommend exactly that. I am more than a little confused as I know you have a working relationship with them.

Thank you.

I would not recommend number four after drinking the first three bottels....
😂😂 i agree!!
Lol
“Be careful, as this technique is a little bit dangerous...”
Yes, that's called the drunk and desperate technique!
Number 4 looks like a death wish!😰
30 years ago I purchased two Swiss army Champs, one for me and one for my dad, while a student studying in Vevey. I’ve probably used the “gorilla move” hundreds of times and my Champ is still going strong as an everyday in my dop kit.! Awesome video, thanks!
Thanks a lot for your fantastic story!
So THAT'S what I've been doing wrong!
You, sir, are both a scholar and a gentleman of the highest caliber.
Thanks a lot!
"The first millimeters are always the hardest."
That's what she said.
I'm sorry I've only got a few millimetres, 🙄
As Per Felix, it’s important how to use it 🤪
"The last millimetres are always the hardest"
That's what she said to John Holmes
:O That last one blew my mind. You opened a bottle with a pocket knife. OMG...
Thanks a lot for visiting my channel!
You are great at what you do! We knife enthusiasts are very fortunate to have you making such good videos for our use. Thank you again!
before almost losing all hope, struggling to get the dammed cork out of this sauvignon blanc. we turned to youtube, and felix my friend. your first trick worked and it has saved our lives! 🙏🏼
Thanks for this wonderful feedback!
This is probably the 5th tips & tricks video of yours that I've watched in row and I just find it so damn interesting how much I don't know about my Swiss army knife. Great videos that every SAK owner should watch.
I suppose this Swiss Army knife is a way of life in Switzerland 🇨🇭. The leather man is an amazing implement. However there is just something stylish about using a Swiss Army knife
You're hilarious, knowledgable and an excellent teacher I've just watched over a dozen of your videos and subscribed keep up the good work.
I got a waiter a few days ago. Used technique 2 to open a bottle of wine and it's bent so bad now the cork screw sticks out. The frame's aluminum and plastic now has a notch in it because I tried what you did. Highly recommend not doing anything but the first technique if you have a smaller SAK.
Oh no... Thanks a lot for your valuable feedback! That didn't happen to me or I didn't pay attention to it. Sorry ..
Yes you have to be careful to pull the corkscrew straight. If anything put force on the side that the corkscrew is on, not on the opposite side otherwise the rest of the knife acts as a lever to bend the base of the corkscrew.
Ja mir ist dasselbe passiert bei Trick#2 mit dem Ranger Wood 55. Korkenzieher ist jetzt mehrere Grad verbogen. Nach ja, wo gehobelt wird fallen Späne ;-)
On my SAK, the frame's alu and plastic has also a notch... don't try the second method, you'll damage your SAK probably...
I also damaged my aluminum frames using technique 2. Live and learn!
I LOVE watching people who know what they are talking about. Great video.
Hello Graeme. Thanks a lot for this compliment!
Wow. I kept on giggling watching all your tricks, not only in this video, but all of the ones I've watched already.
Hello Francis. Thanks a lot for this positive feedback!
That blade trick is awesome 👍
Thank you very much!!
This channel is so awesome. Knowledge weighs nothing and I'm more and more convinced...if I HAD to survive with only an SAK...a person can. Thank you, sir!
Thanks a lot John!
The last trick, with just the knife, was awesome! Have to try this next time!
It's December 24th 2022, 7pm. Trick No.2 has just saved our Christmas dinner! Thanks Felix! :-)
I tried the craftsman technique after watching this and it works sooo well and is so much easier than just trying to pull the cork out. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for your positive feedback!
Excellent! Really enjoying this series.
I just watched a guy open a wine bottle. 4 times. I came here for that, I'm not disappointed!! Great to see you, your enthusiasm is contagious 👍👍👍
By the way, in Argentina we use a shoe and bang it against the wall, try it!!!! Salud! 🍷
My friend, your techniques for opening wine without damaging your pocket knife are amazing. Thanks for sharing. a hug.
Thank you very much!
My new favorite channel! Thanks for posting , now to watch the rest of the videos.
Thanks a lot for your support!
Great tip with the spacer!!!
As for #4 - the can opener works for this technique as well. Plus you don't risk dulling your main blade on the glass. :-)
You. Sir. are incredible! I bought (because of you) a VictorinoxChamp, and have used everything on it! Thank you; I used to laugh at the Swiss Army Knife. No more.
I'm a Brazilian Guy, and I've been searching for this exactly tips on Brazilian Videos, and not find. Thanks a lot! I use a mix off the second technique with the gorilla move!!
Outstanding! The last part drinking the wine was the best :-) Seriously though, using the main blade never occured to me, brilliant trick! Much apprechiated!!! Thumbs up!
Thanks a lot for your comment!
The last one is a very good trick! Thanks a lot!!!!
Felix, you are the king. Thank you for sharing your wisdom
Thank you for another fun viewing of Victorinox tricks. It's a real pleasure to look at you!
I don't know how I skipped watching this video earlier 🤔
I just have to add that I agree that opening wine with a knife can be very dangerous and because of that I always use a can opener the same way you use a knife. It works the same, but it's less dangerous 😎
Wow very cool tricks 👍
Haha, nice one as always Felix!:D
Loved swiss army knives since I was a kid but never had the opportunity to own one, yet I found the officer suisse model in the caravan I live in and you're videos have answers to questions I didn't even know.....great videos man
I was thinking after bottle two that the post production of this video was going to be a lot of fun. 😉 😂🤣😂🤣😂
You can use the can opener the same way as the knife blade, too! Take care.
Yes, it is safer....
Incredible! I've just been doing the first one for years with my SAK!
Haa ha ha that works...no question!
Splendid!! I tested this second tip and it’s worked very well!! This is my new form to open a bottle. Thank you for more this tip!! 👌🏻
Great Felix,i love your videos
Ei Gude Felix, immer eine Freude mit anzusehen, was Du aus einem Vic holst 👍 ich wusste immer warum ich meine Vics mit Korkenzieher/dreher kaufe 🤩 einfach klasse und vielen Dank dafür! LG Uw€

Hoi Felix. Wieder mau super geniali Tipp's. I Danke Dir fürs Zeige.

Thank you!! I forgot my dedicated corkscrew before I went on vacation, and now I get to enjoy a bottle of sweet red while I write!
Haaa ha haa, thats wonderful my friend!

Vielen Dank Jörg!!
That was interesting, thank you!
Thanks a lot for your comment my friend!!
I learned something very useful today. Excellent video.
I love this channel! Just information and no politics!
A tip for you. You can improve the 'gorilla' technique, when you have the bottle fixed on the ground, instead of pulling the cork out, push it in for about 2-3 mm, breaking the friction and then pull. It would be much easier 'small gorilla' way :-)
Of course you have to leave few mm of the corkscrew out of the cork.
Hey Felix great video! Important information!! I know you don't want that good wine to go to waste, so I'll be right over. Have the BBQ ready to go!! hahah (I had a good laugh when you said "this one is for academics" !!!)
Thanks a lot Andi!!
Genial, Felix, und eine Freude, Dir dabei zuzuschauen!
Vielen Dank Martin!!
Today I received in the mail my new Victorinox Ranger. I love your videos...and cannot wait to use your tips! Danke
Hey Felix, excelentes tips!!!! Aprendí muchísimo con estos trucos. Gracias por compartir.
Muchas gracias!!
Ahhhhhhh der Mann ist so klasse👏👏! Danke!
Vielen Dank Roland!!
Thank you so much for this video!! Helped our 2am wine necessities
Technik 2 und 4 sind Mega! Die 2 für Standard Öffnen und 4 wenn der Korken beschädigt ist. Bisher immer die Gorilla Methode angewendet. Danke, toll gemacht. Deine englische Aussprache ist übrigens der Hammer! 👍🏻🤣 Weiter so!
I won't carry a sak with out the corkscrew. I believe it's a much more valuable tool over the Philips screwdriver. I gave used the mini screwdriver many times. And I have had to use my corkscrew a few times to help a maiden in distress open her wine bottle while on camping trips.
I agree...! Thanks a lot for your comment!!
I agree but the small flathead on the can opener works great for a Philip head
@@rowanfernsler9725 You are correct Sir! I use it all the time.
Exactly! I use the corkscrew quite a bit.
Me being a 5head and realizing he had to drink those bottles of wine after opening them meaning he got drunker after each trick.
Thanks for your funny comment!
Super !!!
People don't know how powerful a pocket knife is
Hi, just come across you channel and videos. So very pleased I did. I have owned a Swiss Army knife since I was 8 or 9. So 40 odd years. I must now own at least 10 different ones and use them daily. You have however have shown me so so many things I had not thought about, and different things the knife is capable of. Thank you.
Thanks a lot for your comment!
It seems we have the same fascination. Please let me know if you konw a great trick with a swiss army knife! Greetings from Switzerland
Felix
Very good
Thanks a lot John!
Cheers!!!
Best victorinox channel
Thanks a lot for this compliment!
Thank you Felix! Great techniques, with another informative and entertaining video. Good stuff!
Thanks a lot for your feedback Edward!!
I think those leverage tricks are why I find so many SAKs whose corkscrews won't close completely. That 4th trick I have also seen using the can opener instead of the large blade. That might be safer.
Thanks a lot for your interessting comment!! Yes, the can opener is saver!!
I feel sorry for any goose that gets those hands around it's neck :) Good info Felix, danke.
Haaa ha haaa, thnaks a lot for your funny comment!! 😂
Trick two works great! Thank you, Felix.
Thank you!!
best video ever, saved my date night!
4 bottles of wine open. I’m bringing the glasses!
You are welcome !! 🌞😇
I was born in an Enoteca in italy, (winestore) i tried for year to find a decent way to open a bottle with a Victorinox, but now :D i can replace all of my professional corckscrew :D XD AHAHAHA
Haaa ha haa. thanks a lot for your funny comment!!
@@FelixImmler thankyou for the idea XD

What a fun and informative video! Thank you for creating and sharing!
Thanks a lot for watching!

Ohhh, a huge "Thank you" for this comment Jeff!

It's funny, I always pick something up from watching your vids: glad to find this channel.
Muito bom ! Técnicas aplicadas nunca visto antes em outros canais no RUclips. Parabéns!
Thanks a lot Fabito!
Can you do the last trick with the small knife?
I am not sure...
Only problem if you use your knife as a lever when opening a bottle that the bottle's neck will ruin your knife aluminium liners and there will be small dents everytime you are using this way.
Thanks a lot for your hint! I never found that out..
This happened to my knife as well. After a few number of uses on my climber, the liner was sharp enough to actually crack the glass neck of the bottle. So now I use the gorilla technique haha. Also worth noting that if you use the leverage on opening side (meaning you are going the opposite way of closing the corkscrew) the torque can actually bend the steel and your corkscrew will be hanging out a bit when closed. This is easily remedied by going back the other way the next time around or putting it in some wood and bending it back but just something that happened I thought was interesting.
It still works in 2021. Thank you very much!
Haaa ha haa thanks a lot Oli!
Simply wonderful. Thank you.
Thank you too! Greetings from Switzerland!
Da seht ihr mal was der Felix auf sich nimmt für uns.

Apparently I have the strength of a gorilla😂
Congratulation!😂
:-D
In the Czech Republic we have this maxim for when someone makes a mistake: "I'm strong as a bull, and smart as one too" ... I guess I'll try using a gorilla instead. :-D
Try the gorilla technique on an Argentinian Malbec. I swear they use a metric ton hydraulic press to insert the corks.... I have seen professional high leverage cork screws break the top of the bottle off on occasion. I love Malbecs but I have broke well over a dozen 100 dollar cork screws trying to remove the cork. A waiters corkscrew or swiss army knife will just simply break. Also even the high leverage electric ones will strip all there gears out trying to remove the cork from some of these wines. When it is finally removed the cork is almost twice the size of the opening on the bottle.... 😳
@@crazybenny747 Will do. A bit of vacation coming up with barbecue, sun and fun. A glass of Malbec is never wrong in that context. 🥳
Thank you Felix! Your videos are great.
Thanks a lor Adriano!!
Desde España . Gracias por tu tiempo ..👍
I just imagine him getting progressively drunker with every trick
Felix would like to remind everyone not to "sip and SAK". 😉

I was going to call you God but that position is taken. You're going to have to settle for Genius instead.
Haaa ha haa thanks a lot what a honor!
I have never thought you need instructional video to open a wine with Victorinox corkscrew. I have always used the gorilla technique, but I have had a good laugh. Your presentation is hillarious! Great job! Hope you enjoyed those 4 bottles.
Fantastic video!
Very ingenious. Pleasantly surprised. Grateful
