      IDK why you would want to highlight your saddlebags. That's not flattering in the least! Trousers need to be wide legged, which will create a slimmer silhouette.

    as someone who is 5'2 and pear shaped i REALLY appreciated your tailored advice and how relatable you are. a lot of these "dress for this body type" videos are people who are super tall and NOT the body type they're talking about, finding someone who is similar to the body type they're mentioning, giving direct measurements of themselves and has great style is a rare find and i am SO GLAD i found your channel. ❤️ one of your tidbits that really was legendary status was putting a crop top over a sheath dress?? BLEW MY MIND! i love the whole vibe of a sheath dress but they look awful on me because there is no defining shape to it and i'm not a belt it kind of girl so adding a crop top as the waist feature was really helpful and something i would use!

      me too 5"2 pear shape and peachy ass so I do not suit those regular pear shape advice for tall women - I had many more options when I was under 50kg - mostly just down scaled everything and wore wide bottom pants and short A line skirts, but now I'm older I have to think about what I wear more than I used to.

    How i dress as a pear shaped:i basically copy Kim Kardashian rihanna and kylie’s outfits as they are kind of my fashion icons. Like lots of sweatpants and tank tops tucked in like i love highlighting my booty. Plus i find Kim K’s style pretty accessible(-designer labels but the styles are pretty much found everywhere) and i love wearing pencil dresses/pencil skirts and also lots of shoulder pads and blazer dresses. I really find Kim k’s and kylie’s style to be really flattering to me. I like wearing lots of mom and boyfriend jeans as well with tank tops again or oversized T-shirts and wide leg leather pants with tight tops.

    • @TheThoughtfulCloset
      @TheThoughtfulCloset  3 года назад +2

      Hi Rihanna! So sorry for the delay in responding! Your style sounds seriously awesome. Kim, Kylie and Rihanna do a wonderful job at highlighting their bodies and embracing them. Mom and boyfriend jeans are definitely a staple in my closet and I LOVE the idea of a wide leg leather pant. May have to add that to my closet wish list. Leather (or vegan leather) is such a classic texture to have in your wardrobe. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and for watching my video! I hope you have a great new year!

      So, I think all those women you mentioned dress in a hyper sexualized fashion, which I'm so tired of. I don't care for the "Look at my rear end! Look at my rear end!" Kind of style. I like more elegant looks that skim the body, rather than hug.

      I don't think that would work unless the difference between your top and bottom was really small having you lean towards the hourglass type. They're both top and bottom heavy adn hourglass shaped so :(

    I have switched from super skinny jeans to straight leg and I feel it is a better balance. The skinny leg emphasizes the large difference between the hip/bottom area and the ankle.

    I never thought I could pull off a tuck, but I’m very similar to your measurements and you look great with it!! How do you feel about longer cardigans on the backside? I always feel like it hits me wrong. I’ve tried some of the sorter cardigans (at my waist) and these don’t look great either on me.

    • @TheThoughtfulCloset
      @TheThoughtfulCloset  4 года назад +1

      Hi! Thank you so much! I personally love long cardigans that hit me around mid thigh. I think it’s the most flattering length on my body. I personally love the length of the Kent cardigan by Madewell (you can find a bunch of them secondhand on Poshmark). I’m going to be making a follow up video that highlights more outfits following these tips so hopefully that video will provide more inspiration. If you have any other questions feel free to leave a comment or private message me 😊💕

      I have found that the thickness/weight of the fabric is key, clingy long cardigans make me feel like a bag of potatoes, but structure at the shoulder and some weight to the knit can work nicely.
