By the way guys, you really have to appreciate that we have one of the best players of the world teaching us chess FOR FREE. Impressive that Steinitz was able to move his knight 7 times while his opponent wasnt able to improve his position (untrap his bishop or contesting the open file)
Thanks to you I'm learning how to play Chess and I'm really enjoying it! If it wasn't for you I wouldn't be as happy as I am when I make a good move, as concentrated and proactive as I am when I'm trying to learn something new from your videos, as expectant as I am when I am not playing and a sudden thought of Chess comes to my mind... I am having a lot of fun :D Thanks, Hikaru ♥
Bro if you looked at the evaluation bar you can notice blacks position is so bad white is winning by like 7 points which is 2 bishops or knights and a pawn
I am not great at chess at all but i am enjoying watching your videos. It seems like knight is on of the most important piece - it is hard to learn but with great positioning you can rule whole chessboard with them.
hikaru has this respectable delivery of content, no bad words which is good for kids and other old people.. thats why he gains more follower, people love clean streams
Hikaru thanks for this tip on the French, I've been working on it and it seems like a good opening for Black. My Middlegame needs work, so if I can connect it to good attacking ideas, it should lead to some good positions. I'm also looking into the main lines from the (Czech/Pribyl) Pirc, which seems a little sharper if played well.
So I was wondering, you should do a game where if you guess your opponents move, their peice you guess disappears... for example you guess they move their knight, then they do move it, and then the knight disappears on the next move.
Most chess tactics were taught from books long before the computers. Not saying computers don't help a lot these days, but old school chess still taught me a lot in my youth.
If Hikaru went back in time, he would play the Bongcloud so well that it becomes theory.

When you're so good at chess a position is named after you.
Chess instructors: try not to waste time moving the same piece multiple times.
Steinitz: seven consecutive moves with the same Knight
