I've seen they offer their 660 line with FOUR yr guarantee now .... have they fixed the potential Oil leaks? do they eventually sell more Tuaregs?
There are no oil leaks on the Tuareg, it was only the first production batch.

Im from india and wanted to buy this bike. Perfect for me. But Aprilia decided to bring this to india as a CBU attracting a lot of taxes and pricing it equal or more than the Tiger 900 Rally Pro, Ducati Desert X, BMW 850 GSA, Honda Africa Twin.
Dead on Arrival. Coukdve taken the market by storm if priced even slightly higher than the Versys 650 but whoever made the decisions in their marketing department. The entire 600cc segment is vacant.
Its CBU because it is made in Italy, they don't have any production facility in India. They can not sell a $12k bike for versys 650 money. They would sell every bike at a loss. Not sure why you had such unrealistic price expectations.

There's a price category for a 600cc motorcycle. If it's priced more than a 900cc motorcycle, why would anyone buy it?
If Kawasaki/Suzuki/yamaha had no factories in EU and brought in their versys 650 or vstrom 650 or Tenere 700 as cbu and priced it more than the Tiger 900 or KTM 890 or Ducati Desert X, would you not be laughing at them?
