hey guys!! I'm back with another back to school video, this time on how I take notes on my iPad Pro 2020 11”! I go over study tips and tricks I've learned on Goodnotes 5 to make your notes pretty / aesthetic, neat, efficient, and effective :) I also show how the printing process looks like with ipad notes and how to have an easy and organized notes system! I can't wait to show you guys more study with me's and my notetaking process once the school year starts!:D

I love actually sitting down and making my notes look nice because it’s actually a kind of study method for me, I get to go back over my notes and it helps the information sink in.
Exactly! It helps me revise. I memorise it more when it's pretty and colourful than when it's boring and printed.
it was proven that rereading notes is a terrible study technique. hope youre not still doing that

@@schulteq some study techniques are more effective than others. its fine to reread notes but try other study techniques because you migt find you could spend a lot less time studying with easier techniques. you can still make pretty notes if you really want
@@jemima2222 I’ve tried quite a bit actually. I have adhd so a lot of study techniques just don’t work for me. For me rereading my notes is one of those things that doesn’t feel as intimidating for me and it feels doable. When I specifically dedicate time for it, it actually helps me quite a bit

Yes lol. When I was taking Igs I couldn't commit to not making notes. I would stop halfway coz I really couldn't do it. Unless if teachers asks for notes and they check it. I once spent 2 hours doing chemistry notes because I thought it was due the following day turns out it was due on Friday and I really hated doing notes from then on. I found online notes for my studies instead of making my own. But I'm taking a levels soon so I need motivation to make notes lol
Honestly digital note taking is much better than taking notes on paper-
1. You dont have to carry many notebooks, writing materials or books. Everything is in your device.
2. If you did some mistake, don't worry as editing is so easy.
3. You can change the pen color and higlight important parts without even changing your pen.
And yes erase too.
4. The best thing is that it saves trees.
I compleatly switched from paper to and iPad! It´s so much easier and I´m way more organized! I just ordered the 12,9 inch pro and I can´t wait for it to arrive *.* after over 2 years the 6. gen was a little too small for my daily use at school

What if by the end of the year, you print all of your notes for each class throughout the whole year, and get copies printed as a study textbook? You can sell them and people can use your notes to study while you can make some extra money!

@@estrelletapolar I prefer book. Even I have a lenovo tablet and stylus which can make notes but it's way too much burden.. It writes on the screen even if you put your hand on the screen to write like writing on paper.

Just to let y'all know... You don't need an iPad and a 100 dollar stylus that goes with it to make nice looking notes. Just buy a pen and a paper that makes you feel good about taking notes. Buy stationery if you feel like.

A tip that may work for you - I'm using a kindle fire that is less expensive and getting 2 styluses for 17 bucks, just get a cheap one that can be used for everything

Wish I had time to do this!! I find it so calming and relaxing. I tried it for medical school, but it took me several hours to just do one lecture like this!! And I fell behind on all my other lectures for that day. So I just take short, ugly notes now since it’s much quicker. But your notes are so beautiful! You should consider selling it at the end of the semester to new students!!
I think it’s just about finding what works best for you! I’ve gotten really fast at doing this with a lot of practice, but it definitely can be a bit slow in the beginning if you’re not used to it. And thanks so much, maybe I’ll do that!!😊💖

@@angiegonzalez1663 I recommend using notes to actively study (don’t just write down word for word what’s on your slides). Read your slide, then see if you can summarize in your own words what the major point is, and note that down if you think it’s important. Also write down any questions you have as you are studying so you can ask your prof about it later. Also I really recommend getting into Anki early on. I regret that I didn’t do this. But every student I know who has been using Anki from the start has done incredibly on exams. I also recommend using First Aid early on-skim through the area in first aid that your teacher is lecturing on-this way you’ll know what is the most high-yield stuff from the lecture. Professors often test from the high yield info you’ll find in First Aid. Best of luck with everything!!

Because of Estella my motivation, productivity has improved and most importantly my marks in the first semester my marks was very low like 60% bit because of Estella's motivation y marks increased by 30% I got 90% in this semester.Thankyou Estella.

0:50 actually notetaking is a calming process for me too. In fact, I absorb lesson info better when I write notes I didn't even revise them
Just a warning, though, if y’all have bad eyes like me I wouldn’t recommend black paper. Our eyes perceive the colours as bleeding into the black and it can cause eyestrain. Though, if you like it, go for it.

i want to take astronomy so bad but every time i try and sign up for the class, it always filled up so im hoping to be able to take it during the summer! your notes are so gorgeous and it makes me glad that i am in school so i take pretty notes like this cause i wouldn't be able to figure out what else to take notes on besides language learning and school 😭
For me, this will never be possible, because, one, I don't even have an Ipad, and two, because the professor talks so fast, that my ''m'' end up like an line kkkk
If you see, she has a blue app with a mix I forgot what it is, but it transcripts what people are saying for you to take notes earlier, or just record and then slow it down and listen to it, or listen to it and pause when you have too

I’m finally early! You’re my biggest inspiration ❤️
I have adhd and the iPad is a much better way or organizing my papers and notes because I can scan the physical copies I get, and keep all my notes at once with out worrying about losing them. While still being able to physically write it out, which is better for memory. I’m very grateful I’ve finally gotten to a point in my life where I can make an investment like this and not ask my paycheck to paycheck parents for help. I’m super excited to get mine before my semester starts :) I’m going to ace these prereqs and get into the nursing program to be a midwife or psych nurse 😋

Loved you notes, love your tutorial. But personally i would just keep writing. In the time you took to just create the cover page, I would have written one full page. I mean it's not a school project now is it. But to each his own. Some people do value aesthetics and I completely understand that.
For me, the aesthetics help the information sink in. Like my brain is more motivated to learn the notes if they look nice. And I'm more motivated to study and make it pretty.
So for some people, aesthetics are also a way to be products.
Notes are best taken with hand on paper if you need printing. Hand written notes have special impression on our brain.

@@jazlynchavez2304 For college students? Kind of the exact opposite especially when some majors are much more hands on and online lecture is incredibly different than in person. Covid did not make school easier at all.

All the exams were online and even with anti-cheating software, most people found a way to cheat so the professors would make the exams harder which then gave non-cheating students no other option but to study more or to cheat as well. Not to mention, being stuck at home all day is a recipe for distractions and no motivation.

@@isabellesullivan196 the prices also vary depending on your device. I just checked and on my new iPad it costs less than on the older model. But I think it's still useful, since it basically has all the stationary you'd need already in it and you can use it for an unlimited amount of time.

I get distracted with all the apps on the iPad personally. And you could use the blue light glasses. I wear prescription glasses, so when I can afford the layering to get the on my actual glasses that I wear to see I do, so I do not have actual recommendations for that.

Tip to save time:
Instead of writing down every word using the pen, save your hand writing as a font so you can type it up and it will still look hand written, then highlight when your done, that way you can still have super cute notes without taking lots of time. 🤗💕
