Come along with Josh and Rachael as they visit Ketchikan Alaska on board the Quantum of the Seas with Royal Caribbean.
We were booked for the Exclusive Flightseeing and Crab Feast but sadly had to pivot numerous times as weather got the better of us and we found the best things to do for "free" in Ketchikan Alaska
Places we featured include Jelly Fish Donuts, Ketchikan Crab and Grille, Bawden Street Brewing, and The Asylum. We also had dinner on board at Izumi and tried to take in a show.

Ok - Help settle the debate Sea Lion, Sea Otter, Seal or something else???
Sea otter...sea lions are way bigger.
River otter!
That was a seal(s) in the creek, we saw 2 or 3 in Sept when we went and we were talking to some locals. Can't remember what they named them, they are seals. Seals and Sea Lions are different mammals in the same "species" I can't remember what they said was the type they had there.

That was definitely a harbor or spotted seal. They were likely hunting for fish. Sea lions are much bigger. They are amazing - to get a better view of them, if you visit Seward, you can see them close up at the Alaska Sea Life Center. :-)
As soon as you said Ketchikan I said LUMBERJACK SHOW!!!! It was so awesome.

One of my favorite videos you have done. I never thought I was a cruise person until I saw this Alaska cruise. You two are great travelers, you go with the flow. If your original excursion plans had worked out, you would never have experienced the salmon donut.

The day we visited Ketchikan it poured rain! We had our float plane cancelled and just wandered the streets. It’s a cute town. Also that was a funicular that was the transport up the hill. You guys are a great watch!

I believe that was a sea otter. We also have a fish ladder here in Grand Rapids! Crab is my most favorite food in the world! The Tram is called a Funicular =D We have one of those here in GR at our zoo. And Grand Rapids is Beer City USA... so you should come visit!
This Sea Lion vs Otter seems like it should be a debate - Is a seal another option...oh gosh.
We love crab too and it was definitely on our list to eat too much of and we achieved that. Where would a person fly to if going to Grand Rapids and is it UP?

You missed the nails on the boardwalk that made the globe. It was in front of the shore building (?) next to where the ships dock, you'll have to go back to find it. It's actually pretty cool.

What a cute little town....I love to cruise..Probably my most favorite way to travel. Did you try the drinks from the robot bartenders? I did on my last Royal Caribbean cruise and boy were the drinks strong..But yummy!! When Josh said "Don't judge me" I was like "What did he do?" Then I laughed my ass off when I saw the doughnut shop!!...Too funny! Great video once again...
Haha thanks so much Johnny! It's funny how we got done with the brewery and just knew we had to head back for donuts again! We love cruising too, so glad some of our audience comes with us on these adventures. We did the Tipsy Robot on Symphony of the Seas but since we didn't do the drink package this time around we did not make it. Very cool to watch though for sure. Thank you as always
Wow they ripped you off on that king crab. I realize there is a lot of meat in the knuckle, but it isn't as sweet as the legs. And I can only imagine how much that cost per pound.

I liked Ketchikan, wish another line would stay longer. Guess that means we gotta go back.
Definitely the tough part of cruising is the short duration in port, we would have enjoyed more time in all of our Alaska one but still great to visit so many places in a short period of time

We did - it was the last cruise of the season, I believe we left Seattle around Sept 26!

I can’t recall where I found my pants, but the brand is Pearl Izumi, they are lined as well so not only repel the water but keep you warm as well!!

We were late September, into October…if I recall, the last RC cruise for Alaska last fall.
