    This is so impressive. I don't even know where to start. I've done a few sewing classes in the past and occasionally I hand stitch the sides of my pants to make them fit my waist. But this is just SO impressive!!!! I would love to try this with a pair of my jeans in the future!!! Thank you for your video!!

    For the seams that are just "denim to denim" and not distressed, you can use some light sandpaper to distress along the seams and make it look more natural

    It'd be really helpful if you can make a tutorial that explains how to turn men's jeans into baggy low rise jeans there's not a single tutorial out there on how to do something like that

    This was an amazing demonstration of how to make darts. I’m still worried about the crotch fit. I’m curious how that works, it seems important for a larger sized person.

      Really great video I have been trying to alter my clothes down after losing almost 40 lbs. I had not taken the pockets off and now I want to try. I did not think to use a blade to cut stiched and will be trying that as well as the seam ripper cutting and unraveling seams. It takes so much longer to undo not knowing the thread can be unraveled. Thank you for sharing your great tips. I look forward to watching your other videos

      @storifulcreations  6 месяцев назад +4

      Hey! I would say for the crotch fit, try to find a pair of jeans that mirrors the curve of your side profile (waist to butt to crotch to stomach to waist) as much as you can. It’s not a perfect way of getting a good fit, but it should be close enough! That’s what I would recommend, but I don’t have a lot if experience with sizes outside the range that I am

    Excellent; just what I needed for several pairs of Levi 501s (BEST jeans ever and I used to design/manufacture jeans ) after losing nearly 50lbst! Do you have a similar video where you also decrease the rise (especially front rise)? Thanks so much.... subscribing.

    • @storifulcreations
      @storifulcreations  7 месяцев назад

      Hello! The front rise is dependent on the zipper/buttons and placement of pockets, so that would be a project beyond my ability. I will take a look, but I think it will be much more complicated than taking in the wasit

    The baggy Esprit jeans I want to alter are too large in the waist and the hips/legs, by about 3 inches. Can I just bring in the centre back seam and the side seams or should I do darts? I love the high waist and loose legs otherwise. Thinking about it further, I guess that altering the back centre seam will bring the back pockets closer together.🙁 I think that seam above the pockets is called the yoke. So, the little copper pocket stud was lost in the hip alteration?

    • @storifulcreations
      @storifulcreations  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hey! The center back seam is a flat felled seam, so it would be possible to take it out from the back, but you would not be able to do darts like I did in the video. There are some videos online showing you how to do that if you would like to try it out, but I personally don’t like the way it looks, so I developed the way that I show in the video! And thank you for letting me know it’s called a yoke! And yes, the bracket will be tucked away on the inside of the jeans

    I don’t know if you’ll see this but what did you do with the extra fabric from stitching in the darts? Did you cut the extra fabric off? If you didn’t does it feel bunched up on the inside?

    • @storifulcreations
      @storifulcreations  3 месяца назад

      Hi! I folded them and stitched them down when I sewed the waistband back on. If you would like another view of it, my other altering (Jean shorts) video has it more clearly pointed out!

      I have an industrial juki ddl, but you absolutely do not need an industrial machine to alter your jeans! Just go a little slower and make sure to have a larger/stronger needle
