    My wife is in under CT simulation for thumic carcinoid. What is the function of mask during the time of radiation therapy

      Hi Anand,
      The mask is used to ensure each treatment is precise. It allows our radiation therapist to use reference marks to position your wife accurately and correctly. It stabilizes the head and keeps everything in proper alignment.
      In good health,
      Mandy

    what is the difference in ct scanner, ct simulation, and MRI

    • @sharphealthcare
      @sharphealthcare  4 года назад +2

      Hi Hmingsanga,
      We hope that the following information is helpful.A CT scanner - Computed Tomography which is sophisticated x-ray controlled by a computer that can take images of your body, display sections of the scanned images at different points of your body so the body’s architectural details can be seen more easily.
      CT Simulation - A CT Scan that is done in or for the radiation therapy department and used for planning the amount (dose) of radiation and the location or target where the radiation will be delivered.
      MRI - Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a method using powerful magnets, radio waves and a computer to take detailed pictures of your body. Both a CT and an MRI may be used to diagnose or monitor changes in cancer treatment. Some structures show up better in an MRI (soft tissues and the nervous system) and some are better using a CT. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
      Kindly,
      Dani
