I have only been a deobi for a year but in my first 1 or 2 months of stanning, I felt like I already stanned the group for decades.... things just literally went into place, it felt so natural to stan them because you know, why wouldn't you stan them?
Truee! I'm a fan of a particular gg but I have to wait for a particular event to get contents from them. But with The Boyz, during my first months as a Deobi, i got major culture shock. They just randomly drop contents that made me think what that is for? Is there an event or such? Not to mention the fun, comfortable vlives and the constant sns updates. Oh, I love being a Deobi! ❤️
The video starting with : "The Boyz better make the right choice.".. and then ending with : "Be a change, not that lane, true to self, be a flame".. so the message is that the right choice in The Boyz' eyes : Be yourself, take the path you want and not whats common, make a difference and from that you'll shine on your own.. i also think that for juyeons part! where he throws white paint all over the canvas of his own picture, I think it means that he doesn't want to be just one thing that people think of him to be, he wants to be a white canvas with many potentials and ways to be different and unique in his own ways and his own self, like he said, " juyeon isn't such a good boy" that's because juyeon is juyeon!
what I also think of hyunjaes one, the boyz have mentioned that this is made for them to break the stereotypes people put on them right? the robotic arm might mean that all the superficial and high expectation on him like a robotic shell on him,, and the quote " make your own air" probably means that almost all living things need air to live but unlike robots they don't need air, so he can make his own air, or he can make his own way to live and survive, which also another reason why he's underwater, it's cuz he's still human and not a full on robot ( that sounds funny idk why )

I like Juyeon’s and Chanhee’s especially because one is stereotyped as hyper masculine while the other is stereotyped as hyper feminine. Neither of them should be confined to those boxes and I love how this shows a different side of them. KINGS CAN DO BOTH 👑
Juyeon is stereotyped as a dweeb off stage (which I find adorable) and a muscular hot guy on stage. It seems to bug him because he even got out of his way to produce a show with his members in order to show his 'true self'. Chanhee has been stereotyped as a feminine person, but I also think it's just his persona and styling. Actually I would love to see him more 'natural' here, without explicit reference to tags like fashion or elegance. But anyway, maybe that's what he wants himself to be portrayed. His part is also beautifully filmed.

I love how The Boyz is always trying to show a different side of them. All of these sides that they've shown, are what makes them seem and feel like human. Sometimes, fans often put idols on a pedestal, when in reality they're just like us too. They're not sexy or cute or cool all the time like what we always see on stage. A member that was known for his sexiness has an innocent side too. A member that was known for his funny side has a romantic side too. Literally all of them are showing their own different sides, breaking people's stereotypes of them. I feel like it gives them more dimensions and I'm loving it. Stanning The Boyz is the best decision I've ever made in my life.

I’m so in love with Juyeon painting over the sexy persona imposed on him to show us how different it is from his actual ~soft~ personality. I like how it’s also immediately followed by a scene where our resident soft boy Changmin takes on a bolder, “sexier” persona. The contrast is lovely.
although a lot of people would applaud them for doing this, i know they're also aware of how much backlash they could get. but that didnt stop them from doing anything. everything about this just feels so genuine and powerful. im proud to say i stan the bravest and the strongest boys ever.

@@karinajimin2094 in many parts of the world, people set standards for and have stereotypes of genders (ex. men shouldnt put on make up, men shouldn't wear crop tops, women aren't fit for physical work, etc.) and it's especially bad for celebrities since a lot of people know them. our generation is progressing with this concern but not everyone is open to the fact that we have our own individualities. people like to label others and judge them when they don't fit the image they have in their minds. for us, ordinary people, it's easy to ignore these things since it doesn't impact us significantly. but for idols, their career and their success are largely affected by how people view them which is why they're usually careful about what they show. which is why i find the boyz really brave for this video as it shows how they stand up for their principles. they're showing people that they are who they want them to be and not what others do. that's just so amazing and powerful.
I think i have to analyze this more but right now i just can say that i love Juyeon's part. Lately he has been the center of "sexy" and "strong" concepts but he proves that he's not just that "a sexy guy", he's a human being and he has many sides. I'm really glad he can express himself.

I truly feel like The Boyz is probably the only group out there atm that express each of their own different shades and colors that too in such a creative way. Historically, it is a collectivist rather than individualistic society and the pressure to conform is greater than in the west. I appreciate this very much. I am a guy living in the states but am very culturally assimilated. There's days where I feel my gender expression isn't completely met where I want to just express myself more femininely with how I dress, my hair, even just how I carry myself... it's sad because sometimes I'm afraid just being a guy and saying out loud that I really enjoy Kpop. It's sad that we're at a place where we put gender on clothing items and music taste, but that's sadly where we are in today's society and stereotypes. I wanted to answer your comment because i feel you a 100% even tho I'm a girl. Gender norms and expectated behaviors keep us away from freely enjoying the things we love, that's so dumb it hurts. We are so many in that case that it makes no sense that we continue doing it... Women are oppressed, so are men, and "gender non-conforming" people such as non binary or genderfluid people. I'm french, and here we even give gender to inanimate objects??? it doesn't make sense, but growing in this kind of society, we learn at young age to put a gender on everything. We need to unlearn this. LET'S BE BRAVE AND FEARLESS!!!!!!
I think it's the social that make us think that being “Boyz” or “King” mean u only have to be that masculine or something. U can interpret the word ‘Boyz’ without associated with the masculine stuff.

- haknyeon’s part is a reference to romeo & juliet where they die cause the people around them won’t let them be together. i think the fact that he’s wearing a crown of thorns and it’s about making your own romance (with a scene of him kissing himself) is really powerful ... self love !!
- you can also see haknyeon reading two of shakespeare's sonnets (115 & 116) on his phone, which are about love and how it endures despite the challenges against it. also (i may be wrong) but apparently sonnet 115 is about a man's love towards another man omfg

I have a feeling chanhees one talks about how he's been portrayed alot as feminine/ girly looking and wants to break that stereotype by showing off his masculinity, wearing the suit and the wedding dresses behind him to make his own stereotype

Juyeon is stereotyped as a dweeb off stage (which I find adorable) and a muscular hot guy on stage. It seems to bug him because he even got out of his way to produce a show with his members in order to show his 'true self'. Chanhee has been stereotyped as a feminine person, but I also think it's just his persona and styling. Actually I would love to see him more 'natural' here, without explicit reference to tags like fashion or elegance. But anyway, maybe that's what he wants himself to be portrayed. His part is also beautifully filmed.

I love how The Boyz is always trying to show a different side of them. All of these sides that they've shown, are what makes them seem and feel like human. Sometimes, fans often put idols on a pedestal, when in reality they're just like us too. They're not sexy or cute or cool all the time like what we always see on stage.

I’m so in love with Juyeon painting over the sexy persona imposed on him to show us how different it is from his actual ~soft~ personality. I like how it’s also immediately followed by a scene where our resident soft boy Changmin takes on a bolder, “sexier” persona. The contrast is lovely.

@@karinajimin2094 in many parts of the world, people set standards for and have stereotypes of genders (ex. men shouldnt put on make up, men shouldn't wear crop tops, women aren't fit for physical work, etc.) and it's especially bad for celebrities since a lot of people know them. our generation is progressing with this concern but not everyone is open to the fact that we have our own individualities. people like to label others and judge them when they don't fit the image they have in their minds. for us, ordinary people, it's easy to ignore these things since it doesn't impact us significantly. but for idols, their career and their success are largely affected by how people view them which is why they're usually careful about what they show. which is why i find the boyz really brave for this video as it shows how they stand up for their principles. they're showing people that they are who they want them to be and not what others do. that's just so amazing and powerful.

I truly feel like The Boyz is probably the only group out there atm that express each of their own different shades and colors that too in such a creative way. And never stick to the typical concept/perceptions that have been set by their fans or whoever in the industry. AND encourage us to accept our own different shades and colors. KINGZ.

this is the coolest thing any group has ever done.
I appreciate this very much. I am a guy living in the states but am very culturally assimilated. There's days where I feel my gender expression isn't completely met where I want to just express myself more femininely with how I dress, my hair, even just how I carry myself... it's sad because sometimes I'm afraid just being a guy and saying out loud that I really enjoy Kpop. It's sad that we're at a place where we put gender on clothing items and music taste, but that's sadly where we are in today's society and stereotypes. However, this video totally said forget all of that. I know The Boyz used the term, "King" and are called The Boyz, but I feel their concepts and stages and videos always have some kind of touch of femininity whether it's the jewelry, the fashion, the style, the makeup, the accessories, even just accessorizing with feathers and flowers, or having materials be shiny or stoned etc. even how these guys just show so much affection for each other, not afraid to tease each other and even hugs and cuddles-- don't even get me started on the paper game from Summer Vacation lmao. Anyways~~ Thank you, The Boyz. I'm so proud to be Deobi

I wanted to answer your comment because i feel you a 100% even tho I'm a girl. Gender norms and expectated behaviors keep us away from freely enjoying the things we love, that's so dumb it hurts. We are so many in that case that it makes no sense that we continue doing it... Women are oppressed, so are men, and "gender non-conforming" people such as non binary or genderfluid people. I'm french, and here we even give gender to inanimate objects??? it doesn't make sense, but growing in this kind of society, we learn at young age to put a gender on everything. We need to unlearn this. LET'S BE BRAVE AND FEARLESS!!!!!!
I think it's the social that make us think that being “Boyz” or “King” mean u only have to be that masculine or something. U can interpret the word ‘Boyz’ without associated with the masculine stuff.
You just do you man, don't let anybody's dumb point of view change what you wanna be and I also recommend takayan ;)

even though it's hard, remember to just be yourself. wear what you want, say what you want, like what you want & express yourself that's going to make you feel content. make your own & be your own version of YOU. i really can relate to what you said, even though i'm a girl. specially when it comes to clothes but the boyz has taught us well (to make our own) 😉
