People are not lying when they said this is tbz best stage so far. Of course I like all their performance but this is just too beautiful. They show different side of them in every performance I can say. And their recent two stages also give a hard slap to those haters who said tbz only get attention with props and stunts. They are very versatile and creative, not only concept but all their performance have a great message or interesting storyline which made them really different.
But this one looks a little blank without a back dancer. I mean this stage is really huge so it would look better (not empty) with a back dancer like other group did. To me this one's really beautiful but reveal still the best in my heart

I personally think Juyeon's mistake is not a mistake at all. You see in order to grow, some trees will lose its leaves. But they will grow new ones. Or sometimes leaves just fall from the trees and that is the nature of tree. It is beautiful indeed. And on the process (the storyline) of the branch grow into a tree full of flowers, it can be translate into "this is life, sometimes we are at the bottom [the branch Juyeon holds] but we will get up no matter how" and at the end, there are flowers everywhere, there are happiness/success waiting for us. This performance also kinda reminds me of Hotel Del Luna especially the tree part. Edit : Let's win this! CHAYOK DEOBIS 💗
I thought the same. First I was like?? that's an empty branch but I assumed it was like the passing of seasons. First the leaves grow, fall and disappear in the winter, and then flowers bloom in spring.

The text at the back reads: "The Moonlight Sonata opens the gates to Paradise." To those who don't know, VIXX actually used Moonlight Sonata in their song Fantasy!!! THE BOYZ BIG BRAIN ENERGY!!!! This further proves my little theory that they also used classical music in their rendition of Shangri-la as another nod to VIXX! My starlight and deobi heart is so overwhelmed right now 😭😭😭 edit: VIXX used Moonlight Sonata (1st Movement) and The Boyz used Moonlight Sonata (3rd Movement). TBZ also used the 1st Movement during the shadow scene!
Actually, in the episode, they were discussing on how to rearrange the song as their own but since Shangri-La has a very strong concept it's pretty hard to make it different than the original. They suggested doing Moonlight Sonata to connect with their previous performances as they always use 'moon' as one of the elements in their performance! (and the nature of the piece itself; Jacob mentioned how Moonlight Sonata starts slow then fast which blends well with Shangri-La) Danger performance - In the moonlight, the crown will be stolen Reveal (Catching Fire) - The rise of the full moon, the reveal of the true king Shangri-La (Quasi Una Fantasia) - The moonlight sonata opens the gates to paradise But of course, I don't doubt they look into Vixx performances for inspirations and ideas!

At the last part where they line up holding a branch, the branch is supposed to be in sequence where it starts from wilting to blooming. At 3:55 you can see jacob's branch already have leaves but juyeon's didn't. He was determined to make it work but it's live and everyone is bound to make mistakes, it's barely noticeable too!

actually im a dancer, and i practice contemporary, and lemme tell you, they did a really great job. i expected them to be really sharp and powerful bc thats how boy groups dance normally but they were SO graceful, i got emotional. and also, shangri-la has been one of my favorite songs ever, so i was a bit uneasy, but they lived up to my expectations and went above them. stan talent STAN THE BOYZ

Actually it's haknyeon who suggest to put dance break earlier according to the moonlight sonata's flow that they used as their reference and theme for the performance. And interesting fact, kevin is the one who corporate most o ideas and design for stages and outfit also.

In a Vlive, Juyeon wrote a flower emoji as the title and when fans asked him what it meant, he said it stands for the flower he failed to find :(( he was so anxious and he even said that when they placed last on the collab stage, it really shook him mentally and emotionally... No matter how many times I watch it, it remains unbelievable. How did they fit so many vixx references in here and then ALSO added the boyz flavor and creativity? I feel like this is a tribute not only to vixx but to vixx's creative team, their production team, their designers, every single person that has been involved in the vixx brand. I just want to let anyone know that majority of the people watching rtk doesn't want tbz to win because the show wouldn't be 'good' or 'surprising' and because they think tbz is just all about visuals and they also think they're selfish in every performance...... I'm starting to remember Haknyeon in Produce 101 when they think he's greedy but I think it's true tho atleast he was confident that he can showcase a good performance... I stan all the groups here but all I can say is that they deserve to win rtk and let's not mind all the haters
When tbz winning straight people called it boring. Other people doesn't want tbz to win even from the start because they want some underdog to win or they think other groups are more deserving to win and needs more recognition than tbz. People see tbz only care about winning, some called them selfish or cold. Tbz and other groups won't participate if they are already big and have a very stable career. Every groups want recognition and be popular. People should stop wanting tbz not to win just because of their fandom or they already doing well compare to others or have a high chance of winning. Don't invalidate their efforts. Everyone is working hard regardless of their fandom size or sales and other things outside rtk. So everyone deserves to win especially The Boyz. They are showing consistent good performances and versatility.
I don't know if anyone else has commented this, but Juyeon's 'mistake' was something positive. It could represent that we are bound to take a fall in our journey to bloom to our full potential but we learn to pick ourselves up anyways. And thanks to everyone for working so hard!!
to the haters who think that their favs are benefiting from them bringing other groups down... think about it this way: you are working really hard to pass an exam so you can enter your dream school. when you do enter, you are so proud but then figure out that it wasn't you who did well but your parents bribed the school with money just so you could enter. yes your parents are trying to support you, but they don't believe that you could succeed so they feel the need to use bad methods. are you happy? no. now compare it to what you are doing for your favs: your favs are doing their best to enter kingdom with new and exciting performances. but, you don't believe that they will do well so you decide to bring other contestants down so your idol has a chance of reaching them. yes you are trying to support your idol but in a bad way. you don't trust that your favs will do well at all. if your favs happened to enter kingdom, would you confidently say, "I helped you by hating on other groups"? would they feel happy to hear that? no. but nonetheless, we (all non-toxic fans) will stay positive and continue to support our boys to the fullest. we are almost done everyone, hang in there!

Even if the boyz don't end up winning, everyone can see all the other groups literally look at The Boyz's stage to either base on, go against, or learn from for their next concept. From pulling stunts to telling a story to perspective with a camera, everyone said "what did The Boyz do?" If that isn't a sign of respect/looking up to them then I don't know what. They have gotten recognition from other groups, I'm proud of our Boyz :^))
I thought sunwoo's verse was a original verse in shangri-la. But turns out he wrote it himself. We love a multi talented boy This boy can rap, sing, dance, write lyrics and is a great centre and a attention seeker.

what i like about the boyz is they arranged the song not to be completely different.. to make them look cool or sth else. but they still keep the original concept of the song and developed it, the points of the song r still there and it makes it 10000x awesome. no one outdid them

the moonlight sonata starts off vixx's fantasy, so I feel like adding that to the shangri la stage was such a clever touch!! it's almost like paying homage to vixx's discography

A kdeobis interpretation of this performance In the beginning, there is a scene where Younghoon sits alone and drops petals as shown in the photo. You can see the lake behind, but in shangri la(dowonkyung; paradise), it is taboo to drop the petals in the water. In the fable 桃花源記(The Peach Blossom Land) which is about shangri la(dowonkyung), there is a fisherman who enters this paradise called shangri la and was warned not to tell this experience to others. However, on his way out, he marked his route with signs and told of this paradise to others, and everyone tried to find this paradise although it was in vain. There is a poem that reads: “A clear stream by the side, a tower standing on top of it There were plenty of radiant flowers in front of the platform. Do not send petals floating in secret flowing water Are you worried that the fishermen will visit you?” The petals that Younghoon dropped is an act of breaking taboo, because if you find shangri la through the petals, you can go to the beautiful paradise. In the process of picking up the petals in hand and dropping them on the lake, the rest of the members in the regular world will be able to come to shangri la as the contents of the poem. Summarizing the above, it can be seen that only Younghoon is in Dowonkyung and the rest of the members are in the regular world, and he’s dropping the petals so that the rest of the members can come to shangri la. Why should members come to shangri la? The Boyz's shangri la is where all the members come together. Therefore, the place where Younghoon was alone in the beginning was a desolate place, but the place in the last scene where all the members were, it was a beautiful place where flowers bloomed. However, when there was a gate to shangri la in the middle of the performance, some members were able to pass through it, but Sunwoo was not able to. Among the lyrics of Sunwoo’s rap, there’s a part that says: "I break this taboo for a dangerous and radiant beauty that no one dared to do” Through this The Boyz's shangri la could not be completed, so The Boyz members broke the mold and themselves became peach blossoms(peach blossoms symbolize shangri la) in order to create their own shangri la in the regular world. As time went on, the members came together to make their shangri la. So in the end Younghoon did not call members into shangri la, but he came out from shangri la to the real world(wooden door- the regular world → shangri la, the flower door → the regular world). He came out into The Boyz’s shangri la where all the members were.

I am crying cuz I stanned them from the start and they came from a new and small agency so not many people knew them. They kept on working hard even after losing a member. I don't know who is gonna win but I hope people start appreciating this group more cuz they are that one group that keeps smiling even when it was hard for them from the very beginning.

I know this performance didn't quite get them the top spot this week, but my god did it do so much more. These last two performances have really hammered home the sheer depth of talent The Boyz have as well as their diversity when it comes to concepts. This demonstrated their classic hard-hitting choreography and mildly terrifying stunts while seamlessly flowing into a much softer and more contemporary side that we haven't seen from them before. They could have played it safe these last two episodes and stuck with those harder-hitting concepts that might have guaranteed a win, but instead they chose to take risks and focus on storytelling and in turn created two beautiful and insanely memorable performances that have shown a new side of them. And I love them for that. (They also showed off a new ethereal side of New and I love them for that even more...) I feel that they've surpassed any and all expectations and have forcibly grabbed the attention of anyone who ever let them fly under the radar. Cannot wait to see where they go from here.

I am honestly so glad they still did so well, but it would seem that voting doesn't tend to favour performances that promote deeper and more thought-provoking messages. I am still so glad they did this and showed off their range though. This competition has really provided all us fans with many a performance to watch on loop, haha.

People are not lying when they said this is tbz best stage so far. Of course I like all their performance but this is just too beautiful. They show different side of them in every performance I can say. And their recent two stages also give a hard slap to those haters who said tbz only get attention with props and stunts. They are very versatile and creative, not only concept but all their performance have a great message or interesting storyline which made them really different.

I personally think Juyeon's mistake is not a mistake at all. You see in order to grow, some trees will lose its leaves. But they will grow new ones. Or sometimes leaves just fall from the trees and that is the nature of tree. It is beautiful indeed. And on the process (the storyline) of the branch grow into a tree full of flowers, it can be translate into "this is life, sometimes we are at the bottom [the branch Juyeon holds] but we will get up no matter how" and at the end, there are flowers everywhere, there are happiness/success waiting for us. This performance also kinda reminds me of Hotel Del Luna especially the tree part.

I thought the same. First I was like?? that's an empty branch but I assumed it was like the passing of seasons. First the leaves grow, fall and disappear in the winter, and then flowers bloom in spring.

To those who don't know, VIXX actually used Moonlight Sonata in their song Fantasy!!! THE BOYZ BIG BRAIN ENERGY!!!! This further proves my little theory that they also used classical music in their rendition of Shangri-la as another nod to VIXX! My starlight and deobi heart is so overwhelmed right now 😭😭😭
edit: VIXX used Moonlight Sonata (1st Movement) and The Boyz used Moonlight Sonata (3rd Movement). TBZ also used the 1st Movement during the shadow scene!
Actually, in the episode, they were discussing on how to rearrange the song as their own but since Shangri-La has a very strong concept it's pretty hard to make it different than the original. They suggested doing Moonlight Sonata to connect with their previous performances as they always use 'moon' as one of the elements in their performance! (and the nature of the piece itself; Jacob mentioned how Moonlight Sonata starts slow then fast which blends well with Shangri-La)

Reveal (Catching Fire) - The rise of the full moon, the reveal of the true king
Shangri-La (Quasi Una Fantasia) - The moonlight sonata opens the gates to paradise
But of course, I don't doubt they look into Vixx performances for inspirations and ideas!

At the last part where they line up holding a branch, the branch is supposed to be in sequence where it starts from wilting to blooming. At 3:55 you can see jacob's branch already have leaves but juyeon's didn't.

actually im a dancer, and i practice contemporary, and lemme tell you, they did a really great job. i expected them to be really sharp and powerful bc thats how boy groups dance normally but they were SO graceful, i got emotional. and also, shangri-la has been one of my favorite songs ever, so i was a bit uneasy, but they lived up to my expectations and went above them. stan talent STAN THE BOYZ

A post on their fan cafe explained that “The B” is an abbreviation of “The Boyz’s Vitamin.” The first syllable of the word “vitamin” in Korean is spelt in a way that sounds like the English letter “B,” and part of the meaning is that fans will be like vitamins for the members.

I just want to let anyone know that majority of the people watching rtk doesn't want tbz to win because the show wouldn't be 'good' or 'surprising' and because they think tbz is just all about visuals and they also think they're selfish in every performance...... I'm starting to remember Haknyeon in Produce 101 when they think he's greedy but I think it's true tho atleast he was confident that he can showcase a good performance... I stan all the groups here but all I can say is that they deserve to win rtk and let's not mind all the haters

Other people doesn't want tbz to win even from the start because they want some underdog to win or they think other groups are more deserving to win and needs more recognition than tbz. People see tbz only care about winning, some called them selfish or cold. Tbz and other groups won't participate if they are already big and have a very stable career. Every groups want recognition and be popular. People should stop wanting tbz not to win just because of their fandom or they already doing well compare to others or have a high chance of winning. Don't invalidate their efforts. Everyone is working hard regardless of their fandom size or sales and other things outside rtk. So everyone deserves to win especially The Boyz. They are showing consistent good performances and versatility.
But isn't their fault if they always come out with great concept that other group never think about it.
I don't know if anyone else has commented this, but Juyeon's 'mistake' was something positive. It could represent that we are bound to take a fall in our journey to bloom to our full potential but we learn to pick ourselves up anyways.

think about it this way:
you are working really hard to pass an exam so you can enter your dream school. when you do enter, you are so proud but then figure out that it wasn't you who did well but your parents bribed the school with money just so you could enter. yes your parents are trying to support you, but they don't believe that you could succeed so they feel the need to use bad methods. are you happy? no.
now compare it to what you are doing for your favs:
your favs are doing their best to enter kingdom with new and exciting performances. but, you don't believe that they will do well so you decide to bring other contestants down so your idol has a chance of reaching them. yes you are trying to support your idol but in a bad way. you don't trust that your favs will do well at all. if your favs happened to enter kingdom, would you confidently say, "I helped you by hating on other groups"? would they feel happy to hear that? no.
but nonetheless, we (all non-toxic fans) will stay positive and continue to support our boys to the fullest. we are almost done everyone, hang in there!

the moonlight sonata starts off vixx's fantasy, so I feel like adding that to the shangri la stage was such a clever touch!! it's almost like paying homage to vixx's discography

A kdeobis interpretation of this performance
In the beginning, there is a scene where Younghoon sits alone and drops petals as shown in the photo. You can see the lake behind, but in shangri la(dowonkyung; paradise), it is taboo to drop the petals in the water.
In the fable 桃花源記(The Peach Blossom Land) which is about shangri la(dowonkyung), there is a fisherman who enters this paradise called shangri la and was warned not to tell this experience to others. However, on his way out, he marked his route with signs and told of this paradise to others, and everyone tried to find this paradise although it was in vain.
There is a poem that reads:
“A clear stream by the side, a tower standing on top of it
There were plenty of radiant flowers in front of the platform.
Do not send petals floating in secret flowing water
Are you worried that the fishermen will visit you?”
The petals that Younghoon dropped is an act of breaking taboo, because if you find shangri la through the petals, you can go to the beautiful paradise.
In the process of picking up the petals in hand and dropping them on the lake, the rest of the members in the regular world will be able to come to shangri la as the contents of the poem.
Summarizing the above, it can be seen that only Younghoon is in Dowonkyung and the rest of the members are in the regular world, and he’s dropping the petals so that the rest of the members can come to shangri la.
Why should members come to shangri la?
The Boyz's shangri la is where all the members come together.
Therefore, the place where Younghoon was alone in the beginning was a desolate place, but the place in the last scene where all the members were, it was a beautiful place where flowers bloomed.
However, when there was a gate to shangri la in the middle of the performance, some members were able to pass through it, but Sunwoo was not able to.
Among the lyrics of Sunwoo’s rap, there’s a part that says:
"I break this taboo for a dangerous and radiant beauty that no one dared to do”
Through this The Boyz's shangri la could not be completed, so The Boyz members broke the mold and themselves became peach blossoms(peach blossoms symbolize shangri la) in order to create their own shangri la in the regular world. As time went on, the members came together to make their shangri la.
So in the end Younghoon did not call members into shangri la, but he came out from shangri la to the real world(wooden door- the regular world → shangri la, the flower door → the regular world). He came out into The Boyz’s shangri la where all the members were.

I know this performance didn't quite get them the top spot this week, but my god did it do so much more. These last two performances have really hammered home the sheer depth of talent The Boyz have as well as their diversity when it comes to concepts. This demonstrated their classic hard-hitting choreography and mildly terrifying stunts while seamlessly flowing into a much softer and more contemporary side that we haven't seen from them before. They could have played it safe these last two episodes and stuck with those harder-hitting concepts that might have guaranteed a win, but instead they chose to take risks and focus on storytelling and in turn created two beautiful and insanely memorable performances that have shown a new side of them. And I love them for that. (They also showed off a new ethereal side of New and I love them for that even more...)
I feel that they've surpassed any and all expectations and have forcibly grabbed the attention of anyone who ever let them fly under the radar. Cannot wait to see where they go from here.
I am a Pentagon bias. But I was expecting The Boyz to get the full 10,000 mark. I love this performance
@@johnnymarky Thank you for your comment! I knew that despite how much I loved it, it likely wouldn't get top marks. I am honestly so glad they still did so well, but it would seem that voting doesn't tend to favour performances that promote deeper and more thought-provoking messages. I am still so glad they did this and showed off their range though. This competition has really provided all us fans with many a performance to watch on loop, haha.
