For me, it's between Clearsight and Whiteout for the saddest story. Clearsight saw all the tragedy caused by Darkstalker and had to send him away forever. Whiteout understood what was going to be caused by Darkstalker, and lost everyone who she cared for. Not to mention, both Clearsight and Whiteout watched Darkstalker kill Artic. Thus why the book "Darkstalker" is my favorite.
@@mrmarksman4965 Whiteout was pretty much just a bystander in the chaos while Clearsight did literally everything she could since birth to try to stop it but still had to give everything up
I'm so glad to hear this! That ending hit me like a truck and, though it really hurt, it was also beautiful. When I made this video, I was setting out to try to recreate those emotions, so I'm happy to hear I succeeded for someone :)
I am also happy that this book is so good but the main part of the story is the relationship with darkstalker and clearsight and I love that they get along so well.
1:23 That art hurts... because I actually commissioned that piece in order to give as a gift to my ex, who... essentially, is very rapidly turning out to be my own Darkstalker... and I don't know if I truly have the strength to let them go.
Wow. Just... wow. I had no idea there was such emotion behind that piece. It is, beyond any doubt, my favorite piece of Wings of Fire artwork out there. I hope that, even if things didn't go as planned, the fact that your actions have brought light into others' lives is a consolation to you. Though I am unable to offer any meaningful help or advice for the situation with your ex, what I can say is this: In life, I think, there are rarely easy answers. Many things are out of our control and the consequences of what we can control are often unclear. However, even the darkest nights must eventually yield to dawn. To quote Brandon Sanderson, one of my all-time favorite authors, "It will get worse. But then it will get better. Then it will get worse again. Then better. This is life, and I will not lie by saying every day will be sunshine. But there will be sunshine again, and that is a very different thing to say. That is truth. I promise you: You will be warm again." Whatever path your future holds, I wish you the best. Just know that I, and I'm sure the rest of the WoF community, are rooting for you.
Darkstalker chose to be vengeful and never acknowledged it once. He didn’t listen to clearsight. A seer who was the only dragon who had a stringer power then Darkstalker. The moment darkstalker would get the chance, he would use his magic to manipulate his targets. After all he heartlessly sent a plague that killed 20 icewings including Queen Glacier. And he wasn’t even done after what may have been the worst crime darkstalker ever committed. Then he used the controlling spells on the nightwings to make them go to war against the icewings after they were at peace. Darkstalker didn’t try to make a peaceful differnce no mater what Clearsight, Moon, or Fathom said. He didn’t really deserve his mind reading and seer powers due to this. He used them to help no dragon exept himself which is also why I can never truly like him.
Clearsight is one of my absolute favorite characters. Finally read Darkstalker for the first time today. Though the Clearsight moment that actually brought me to tears was when they read the actual Book of Clearsight and the letter she wrote to the dragons of the future and how she tried so hard to protect them. I love how we see the future-seeing dragons having feelings about the ones who literally haven't been born yet, or end up not happening at all. The letter really made me imagine how she felt so strongly that it made me tear up.
Im crying, its so beautiful, when I first read it I genuinely thought he deserved it, but…the second time I did…I cried so hard….its a wonderful video, keep up the good work
In a lot of ways, I think he did deserve it. It's a fate he created for himself - a fate he created with all the spells, lies, and manipulations. With that said, it didn't make it any less tragic.
While he was wrong, almost anyone would've done the same given the circumstances,it begs a question,if anyone would've done the same,is it truly wrong? Careful the more you think on it the harder it is to answer
@@gabeprice2706 he kinda was just born evil. when he hatched and came out of his egg he didn't help whiteout and literally said to himself "sorry, little sister, this is my mother, these are my moons, and this is my world now." this is just an immediate red flag about how what kind of a dragon he is going to be. and even if he was born good and just became evil he still had free will to make his own choices and instead of choosing to be a good partner and a good friend he would lie to them and manipulate them. and also that last line you said, "if anyone would've done the same, is it truly wrong?" that's basically saying that if someone kills someone else so everyone else just starts killing everyone is it truly wrong? might want to reword that
God, I remember finishing Darkstalker Legends and thinking, I need a better reality, I wanted so badly to see those good futures as much as Clearsight did, to see Darkstalker learn and change and accept that he didn’t need all that power. But then it went down hill, and I like Clearsight didn’t see it coming. I hated seeing her fall apart as she realized that she was giving all of her dragons with him. But, I also felt a twinge of sadness reading as Darkstalker slipped down the path, even though I knew he was going to be evil. I wish we could get at least a winglet about Clearsight and Sunstreak and all her husbands, and how she found happiness again. Although I can imagine as the years went on, she regretted her decision and only remembered the good futures. Clearsight felt silver tears streak down her snout reminding her of her dear friend Listener and… Darkstalker. She reminisced on all the futures she saw with Darkstalker, although she had to constantly remind herself or the way it truly turned out. She tore her eyes away from the glittering moons and turned around, hoping her tears would dry fast. She hadn’t told Sunstreak much about what had happened to her before coming here, but he knew enough to know when she was stuck in those memories. “Please stay in the present with me” he whispered with a sad smile, not knowing how worse that made it, it only reminding her more of Darkstalker. “I know I’m sorry my love”. Dearest apologies for the horrible writing have a wonderful day/night/evening/morning
It was indeed tragic, but I also have to applaud Clearsight for her sheer bravery in what she did. It had to have been a horrible struggle all her life, to know, even before she met Darkstalker, who he was, and who he could potentially become, both good and evil, and take it solely upon herself to try and lead him down the path of good. And then, when she knew all hope was lost for him, to step up, ask Fathom for his help to enchant Darkstalker in order to stop him, then go and face him, one last time, and say goodbye to a future with him, goodbye to the six little dragonets they could have had together that she would now never know... She was truly a hero. Some NightWings have thought ill of her over these many centuries, but... they didn't know her struggle with her gift of foresight. No one had it as strong and unique as she did. No one had to struggle to work through so many tangled threads of possible fates, so... how could they truly understand what she went through? Honestly, it's a miracle she stayed sane with all the things she saw could potentially happen, in everyday LIFE, let alone the Darkstalker stuff! Even when Fathom appeared in their lives, and he tried to help guide Darkstalker, too, it had to be so painful when Clearsight realized the spells he'd put on her. How he'd altered himself so that he could never die, how he kept using magic behind her and Fathom's backs... Heck, imagine how shattered poor FATHOM must have felt to learn Darkstalker had tried to change HIM with magic. How petty and spiteful Darkstalker was, how oblivious he was to the fact that he wasn't TURNING evil, his actions towards the middle and end of the book meant he already WAS. To cast magic on someone to change who they are, to take away their free will, is so WRONG. Arctic made that mistake too, but his reasoning is, while still awful. arguably much less terrible than what Darkstalker did. I believe Arctic tried to alter Whiteout's personality purely out of a desire to keep her alive. He didn't really understand her the way she was, and he figured trying to turn her into a more "normal" dragon, in his opinion, might ensure her survival in the Ice Kingdom. And why did he want to go back there? Yeah, maybe part of it was homesickness, but... He wanted to save Foeslayer. No, I don't agree with how he went about it. He tried to betray the NightWing tribe that took him in after he fled his birth tribe. He tried to change his own daughter. And those things were WRONG. But he didn't try to change someone just because he was sick of them not agreeing with him, or denying their own magical gifts (Fathom), or always worrying about the worst possible outcomes (Clearsight), or because he took petty offense at something they did to supposedly slight him (Indigo). And, even though Arctic did some terrible things, he still said... he would never kill his own son. And what did Darkstalker do to his own father? >_> Yes, Arctic was a terrible father to Darkstalker. But, he never tried to hurt him. Yet, the moment Darkstalker had the chance to hurt Arctic... The moment he realized the power he could exercise over other dragons, and he had an "excuse" with what Arctic chose to do, he took it, and brutally killed his father. And Clearsight had to see it all, if not in person during the actual deed, then, in her head a hundred times as she tried to figure out how to prevent it, and, ultimately, failed to do so. And knew, then, that it was all over. Oh my... This turned into a whole other rant. XD I swear I just meant to say I admired how strong Clearsight must have been to go through all she had to with Darkstalker. But then I got going about Fathom and Arctic and Darkstalker himself, and... yeah. :'D Anyways, I will just add that I'm glad that, in the end, Clearsight did find happiness. Maybe not with Darkstalker, but with another. And she got to have new dragonets to raise and love. And, for two thousand years, she protected all of Pyrrhia from a monster. She did all that she could. And, until Arc 2, when others finished what she could not, it was enough. :)
artic might have done terrible things. yet i still cry whenever i read his death. the _way_ he died..no one deserves that.and reading the winglets to gain further insight, he might of still been good, even if deep inside.
@@paradoxtatorstudios9681 I believe he was good, deep down. He was just a deeply troubled dragon, a product of the environment he grew up in, knowing only the incredibly narrowminded and flawed views of the old IceWing way of life. On top of that, he was also both a Prince, with royal expectations heaped upon him, and an animus, with magical expectations weighing him down. Then he falls in love, runs away, accidentally taking the lives of some of his fellow IceWings in the process and having to forever live with that guilt in his heart, and the fear that his actions have further deteriorated his soul, already at risk from being an animus. He moved to the Night Kingdom, and the way of life was just so different he became homesick. His birth tribe went to war with his wife's tribe, and though I don't know all of the reasons that he and Foeslayer started arguing, there was that to contend with as well. Then, their children were born, and he just never hits things off right with Darkstalker. Idk, maybe he always had a bad feeling about him, or maybe just a foreboding one, but he was never able to be the father Darkstalker should have had. Arctic loved Whiteout, but she was also different than what he'd expected, and he didn't know how to deal with her. In the end, that drove him to make a terrible choice to try and change her, which was very wrong. But he did it in an effort to keep her alive. He knew his mother wanted him to kill his children by Foeslayer, and that's the big thing for me; when it came to Whiteout, and even Darkstalker... Arctic would NEVER have wanted to kill them. And the only reason he tried to return to the Ice Kingdom, the real reason why I think he betrayed the NightWing tribe and tried to change Whiteout and take her back with him, other than possibly the homesickness he had been feeling, perhaps, was Foeslayer. He knew his mother. He knew she would want Foeslayer to suffer, so she couldn't be dead. Not so quickly. He changed his daughter, intending to use himself and Whiteout as bargaining chips to get Foeslayer back. And we'll never know if that plan would have worked or not, because Darkstalker stopped it. Knowing how spiteful and cruel Queen Diamond was, it's probably not likely to have worked at all. But, even if it had, I fear Foeslayer would not have forgiven Arctic for betraying the NightWings, or altering Whiteout, and he would have lost her regardless, even if she had been freed. Or if she did manage to forgive him, it would not have been for a long, long time. And it's really tragic to think about. Still, what Darkstalker did was much worse. He killed his own father, frightening his own tribe so much with his actions that they left their home and, over the many centuries, forgot their own history out of sheer terror of him, his girlfriend and best friend put him into what was meant to be an eternal slumber, rather than allow him to further inflict himself upon the world, and, for years on end, both before and likely during his sleep, he took countless IceWing lives. And I'm not even talking about the ones he brought about during the plague he sent after he was reawakened and freed, the one that killed Queen Glacier. No, the barrier he placed around the old NightWing Kingdom, the one that killed any IceWing that tried to cross over the border. How many IceWings died in the IceWing/NightWing war, before Darkstalker was put to sleep? How many more died there, not knowing that the NightWings had fled their home, still thinking their enemy was there? How many times, even in recent history, before Darkstalker awoke, could an IceWing have randomly been flying through the area, unknowing of the history of the area and the spell cast there, and lost their life for no reason? I never see people bring this up, but... If Winter had not been wearing the enchanted earring in Darkness of Dragons? He would have died there. >_> And I hate to think of it. And unless the Jade Winglet had done what they did, Darkstalker would have continued to kill, just because he was spiteful, vindictive, vengeful over matters long put to rest, and oblivious to how truly evil he was. He would have eventually taken over the world, had no one stopped him. Pantala, any other continents out there, he would have wanted to rule it all. So when you think about it, no, Arctic was never that bad. He made bad choices, yes. He was an awful father, yes. But was he evil? No.
@@AnimeFan4Eternity23 wow. thanks for investing the time to write that xd. all of it is very true. arctic may have been a bad father, but he was not a bad dragon, not entirely. and darkstalker...he is the point that proves that some people will never realize how evil they truly where.
When I read about what Darkstalker did to Arctic, I was confused(hearing Darkstalker enchanted a spear to kill him-don't remember where....), and I almost threw up and cried at the same time. It was so emotional! I feel so sorry for all the dragons in the Darkstalker book... Honestly, I think Darkstalker was the most evil dragon in the history of whatever their planet is called. Wasp is probably close behind...But the Othermind contributed a little, I guess. Yet I still feel sorry for both of them. I think every one deep down felt sorry for Darkstalker, both on Pyrrhia and on Earth.
This video deserves more attention you described it perfectly, also what a coincidence that I happen to be re-reading Darkstalker✨ I got chills when watching this
Same. I’ve already cried to much while reading when ClearSight put the bracelet on Darkstalker, so maybe I’ve cried to much about this ship to cry anymore.
Thing is, Clearsight moved on without him, meanwhile Darkstalker didn’t and never changed, didn’t see his errors. Clearsight proved she was stronger than him, that she moved on, that she didn’t need him. Clearsight is an inspiration to anyone trying to get out of or over a horrible relationship.
I haven't had a book effect me as much as this one has, with feeling of almost nauseous in reaction to seeing Darkstalker's manipulativeness, and certainly cried several times in the book to from Clearsights pov. Plus reading it again knowing their love at the beginning is going to go sour. I feel like part of her, even after having Darkstalker put to sleep still loved him and that's why she left. I feel like she was afraid of second guessing, especially after seeing the previously happy life they could have had with her foresight previously.
Oh absolutely. I think she even says that herself in the epilogue - that she's decided to leave because sometimes the temptation would be too great. It really was a beautiful book though, wasn't it?
The whole book was a giant tragedy. The whole group could have been the best of friends of all of Pyrrhia...but due to everything that happened, everything fell apart, everyone's heart got broken in some way, and nothing was ever the same again. I still get sad when I think about Clearsight and Darkstalker's could-have-been children, the possibility of Fathom being their godfather, all sorts of things.
Makes me wonder what would have happened if Darkstalker actually listened to his friends and realized he didn’t need all that power (Also makes me wonder if he got his act together he could have potentially befriended Indigo)
I never cry for books. Or movies. But when I finished reading that in legends, I cried. I was so sad because Clearsight was giving up everything she could have had. And when Darkstalker realized in arc 2 that clearsight was gone and that he’d been gone for 2,000 years, that hit me hard too. He regretted his actions and wished he could have Clearsight back, even going as far as to enchant another dragon to be just like Clearsight was. He tried fooling himself all for her. His end was tragic, but altogether a very clever end from Kinkajou. I’m happy that he is now Peacemaker reunited with his mother, Hope.
They had true love indeed, but for real, Darkstalker did not deserve Clearsight. She was so honest and cautious, and from the beginning Darkstalker lied to her, violated their trust with magic. She was still good to him and could let him go, but he wanted her so bad he would use magic on her, but Clearsight could put limits. He also didn't listen to her enough, wanted it his way; his future. He was so blind, and he didn't know that once he was gone, Clearsight was free from him finally, while carrying the burden of his mistakes. Clearsight saw much clearer.
It is actually quite strange To realize that those with biggest vision are often the most blind I have tendency to look for good in people...and it bitten me in my ass morevthan once Still...I am kind of glad that Darkstaler got chance for redemption, even tough it was mostly for his mother.
It was becuase of this that reread the book, and clearsight's story is truly one of the most tragic in the whole of the series- your video covered it beautifully and left me in tears, thank you.
@@JadeMountainArchiveomg almost cried reading this book 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 for some reason though darkstalker is my favourite character and still is this book is legendary 😊
I’m not crying, your crying. Jokes aside, this was an incredible video, and gave me chills. I had never though about it that hard, the music fits it so well. The art made it 10 times better, keep up the amazing work.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for the kind comment :) It's ones like these - that let me know I'm making a difference in someone's day - that make the videos worth every second.
I am truly happy for the kids who grow up with these deep and mature stories, still have teary eyed today. I’m sure this series will be truly nostalgic to people in the future
"I enchant this stone so that Darkstalker would have made the right choices, and had a good life with Clearsight." *casually breaks laws* I don't read the book anymore because it's too sad. also clearsight literally created a new species glad she was happy in the end
I am crying, I feel so bad for that trio, it wasn't just Clearsight who had the tragedy it was also Fathom who lost his best friend, though it wasn't as bad for him as her. BUT Darkstalker also took his soulmate for a time making him think that she had not loved him or felt anything for him.
Darkstalker is my favorite character and will forever be held close. Clearsight was such a Great gf, she tried and tried. Darkstalker was just beyond saving and that’s what made it hard. Clearsight risked her whole life with him like he said. But ended up finding love in the end. We need more and sunstreak and clearsight I love love LOVE them togeather but nothing will ever beat dark sight.
This is true a tragic story and Clearsight was forced to throw all away, her love, friends, family, home and hope, forced to run away from her place a birth for this one simple disaster. She must of felt so bad when remembering the past and then knowing that there were no hope in a bright future, this is one of the most saddest couples amongst the entire wings of fire series.
I failed the challenge. This brought tears to my eyes. What really hurt was how it could've been . . . how Clearsight and Darkstalker could stay together, Clearsight wouldn't have to leave everything behind. Her home, her family, Listener . . . and how it all went downhill.
eh I failed the challenge too don’t best ya self up about it. Even tho Clearsight’s and Darkstalker’s story is the literal definition of the phrase: “hello depression, my old friend”, she still found happiness in the end
Your TRAGIC voice is making it hard NOT to cry :,( also, I completely agree with this video. The book did have the saddest moments, and in the end, that's when I nearly cried. Thank you for making this video. It helps me understand what actually happened.
Love this connection to Moon - she's like a mini Clearsight in a lot of ways. As I see it, power is potential. Potential for extreme good, but also extreme evil. It's up to those with the power to try to sway which direction it tips.
@@zForce4 I just reread them. Unfortunately I have a steel trap memory so I can't enjoy the books as much as I did when I first went through them. I wish I could forget the main stories and start again fresh.
Clearsight was so noble she lost all the futures with her soulmate she dreamed about since she was a dragonet. When she realized Darkstalker was beyond saving she could’ve joined him or hid in a corner and cried for her lost futures. Instead she saved her tribe and started an enigore new tribe on a different continent and saved the dragons there from multiple disasters. Without her the dragon planet would’ve become a wasteland.
Wow. This is so sad, yet it captures the very soul of the tragedy. Thank you, for this wonderful video. I feel so bad for Darkstalker, yet I can only realize that it was his fault. Clear sight did the right thing, and it shows how much she loved him, that she was able to lock him away, and leave her brightest future. This makes me so sad, and I realize what a great Author Tui is, and what a great RUclipsr you are, to entrap such a story in our hearts. Thank you for capturing this story in a sad yet beautiful video. Thank you.
I cried so much. It is one of the most heartbreaking thing that has happened to a dragon in WoF. She truly gave up everything she had to save everyone. Including saving Darkstalker from himself.
I didn't think I would cry when I clicked in the video, but as it progressed I started gushing. Weird how this series made so many people closer. Clearsight and Darkstalker has to be the saddest couple/story in the W.O.F universe.
@@JadeMountainArchive You have just gave me the motivation to animate a amv or pmv. Do you mind if I give you credit at the end of the video? Also, yeah that comment really just made me think that the time they had together from meeting at school up until she caught him trying to kill the queen was pretty wholesome. They were a good couple.
The “goodbye my dearest love has me crying for 20 minutes it was so sad o cried like five times while reading it but the last part got me so bad just knowing that darkstalker would never become the dragon clear sight hopes he would was so sad also the part where she wondered if she should wait in the path of death with darkstalker was so sad too it makes me sad knowing what darkstalker could have become vs what he became
This gave me literal chills and questions about what is to come for my life I used to think I would love to be able to see the future but this always gives me second thoughts
Im not crying your crying… This was the saddest Book for me cause i went through sort if the same thing, someone i loved, became a monster to others and they tried to control me into staying with them, they were so good at persuasion that i fell for it.. but luckily my sister was there to get me out of it :)
The sad truth of love between these two is sad as I unfortunately had read the book from phone and when I had the book I dared not to touch it as I knew it tested my insanity on how the tragic story behind it was so much that at the time I write this I still haven't touched it since but I plan to make a review of it for finally discuss some things I loved and why I think this book told me some great and the worse of Clearsight and Darkstalker
I'm glad you found the video meaningful! To date, it is the one I am proudest of and the one that means the most to me, so it's always nice to hear others enjoyed it as well.
😭 To say goodbye to the one you love. Not only to lose them but to bury them alongside every possible reality where things were different, where you both were happy. This is the beauty of tragedy.
I can’t even imagine how painful that must’ve been… Imagine you can see you and your favorite person in the world with *your* unborn kids living the happiest life… just to throw it away to save the world… 😢
I finished Darkstalker not too long ago and I cried at the ending. Though this did bring back those tears, it was truly beautiful. This video captured everything perfectly.
As someone who just finished reading Darkstalker I can agree that this is the perfect song for Clearsight. It threw me back into the moment where she slipped the braclet onto his arm and said goodbye forever...
This shows that no matter what life throws at you, no matter how many times you are broken and shattered, you can still find all the pieces and put them back together, and with those pieces, you can find hope, and a new life full of happiness. This broke my heart, but also taught me something. Thank you for making this.
Darkstalker enchanted a bracelet so he WOULDENT enchant her, but he just got around it. He manipulated her. At least she got a happy ending on Pantala, and Fathom and Indigo got a happy ending too. Even Whiteout did! Just Darkstalker and his parents didnt. And u r right, it is a curse. She bonded with her children before she even had them. To give them up, that must have been hard. At least she did have dragonets!
Honestly, I never cried when I read darkstalker 2 times ,because I didn't know how deep their love was. But when I watched your video, that litterally shattered my shield around my heart. No video has ever done that. You've earned yourself a subscriber.
Listen... Clearsight is so important! She was the one who brought HIvewings into the fandom, and without them, Blue might not have even been added into the story. Without Clearsight's map from Pantala to Pyrriha (Or the other way) The Hivewings would have taken control. I feel like Clearsight deserved a better story than being betrayed, and having a spell get put on her by her own cunning boyfriend! I love Clearsight, and this was very inspiring. You earned a new subscriber, because you deserve more. :)
This other person called Vector_Draws, that is a good comment of the expression. Clearsight deserved way more than what she had. "Goodbye my dearest love." Is a sign of how much she cared for his soul, and for the better futures that they could have had together. We love you Clearsight, you are a legend, that should truly be put to becoming known.
Clear sight got it hard. She really deserved better. Clearsight could never have changed it, maybe even those good futures were a figment of her imagination…
Wow. Just wow. I’m blown away at how amazing this video hits you. I almost started crying when reading the last moments Clearsight and Darkstalker had together. Such a tragic story. And that’s why Wings of Fire is the Greatest Series Ever.
I feel so bad for Clearsight. Having all these unstoppable thoughts of her most trusted lover going insane, trying to tell yourself it’s not true, but you slowly watch it all fall apart and having to put your boyfriend away forever after you thought he was trustable. Then flying away overseas leaving everything and her last friends behind forever, to meet some new weird dragons.
Hers is the definition of a heroic sacrifice. She really gave it all away for people who she'd never even met - heck, in some cases for those who called her a villain - and none of them ever knew what she'd done for them.
When I read the book The first time I was crying for Fathom and Indigo and then the second time I was crying for clear sight then I read book 11 again and remembered she had a happy ending in pantala. I always wondered if darkstaker saw the future of clear sight and her yellow Silk wing friend. I wonder if he released that was the future she chose (he seeing The Lost Continent Proficiency and Hive Wings. If darkstaker never became peacemaker. He would have stopped Jeraboa from deleting animus magic. It would have been interesting to reed. In book 14 it would be him who flys across the sea and he probably would try to stop it. But then he gets mined controlled JUST AMAGIN THE OTHERMIND HAVING AN ANUMIS then as the line says in the prophecy “None of the tribes will Servive” Good job Kinkajou you stoped dragon extinction.
Oh my goodness, that would have been crazy! If the othermind got hold of an animus, the world would have been doomed. I think if Darkstalker was still around, though, he would have defeated the Breath of Evil - if nothing else, Darkstalker hated things that challenged his authority and he was pretty darn good at getting rid of them. Plus, as soon as he knew what he was up against he could just enchant himself to be uncontrollable!
I actually started crying after I finished reading the book because I felt so bad for Clearsight. I also kinda felt bad for Darkstalker because he thought he was doing the right thing. I still tear up to this day thinking about it ;-;
I'm right there with you - it was so well written and that just made it hurt all the more. "Goodbye, my dearest love," will always bring a tear to my eye. Thanks for the supporting comment :)
I have read the book “The legends of Darkstalker” two times. I didn’t cry as I was reading it. But this, the music, the art, the summarizing of the love, betrayal, pain, and suffering, made me start to cry. The picture of Clearsight with three dragonets made me start to bawl. I’m so sorry Clearsight, you deserved better. Just imagine; Clearsight, queen of the Nightwings. Darkstalker, king of the nightwings, reining power and kindness through all oh Phryia. But. It. Will. Never be.
Wow…I don’t think I’ve ever been so emotionally invested in a Wings of Fire video. This is beautiful. Yes, Clearsight’s tale is indeed tragic, but her actions allowed a brighter path to unfold that we, the readers, were able to follow. Without her sacrifice, we’d never have the dragonets of Destiny, or arc two, or even arc three! Clearsight’s decision shaped the entire series, and if it weren’t for her, nothing would be the same. Now, let’s talk about Darkstalker’s path to evil. It all boils down to when Darkstalker first hatched. He wanted the glory and fame and love for himself, and the first act that led to his downfall was refusing to hatch Whiteout’s egg, leaving all those possible futures behind, in the past. It really makes you wonder, if Darkstalker wasn’t in the same environment, would he have been the same? Yes, his upbringing was far, FAR from perfect, but would he still retain his sly, manipulative side? Would he still try to manipulate Fathom, or put spells on Clearsight? Would he even make that scroll in the first place? I’ll leave those questions to the fanfiction writers of the series. Everyone is tied together. Everyone’s thoughts and actions affect others, and it’s how they react and let those actions affect them that shapes the world. Darkstalker is a dark mirror to what people can be, to what WE can be. Life isn’t a game that we carefully plot to lead to our success, and Darkstalker Legends is a shining example of that. This tragic story lets us be better, helps us be better, MAKES us be better. But it doesn’t make us be better, we do that ourselves. Because it inspires us. We are all tempted to do wrong and to do good, and only WE can make that decision, and we can only hope that whatever we choose influences others in a positive way. I hope everyone can take this lesson away from Darkstalker Legends. Everyone, you ARE important. You ARE enough. Don’t ever, EVER doubt that. One single nice thing you say to someone could keep them from crossing the breaking point, just as an insensitive comment could pull them down into darkness. Good intentions don’t excuse bad actions, but as long as we strive to do what’s right until the end of time, everything will be alright. Remember, everything you’ve said and done has led you to this moment. I don’t believe that EVERYTHING happens for a reason, but we MAKE it happen for a reason, and hopefully, it’s the right one.
I'm not sure I've ever been this emotionally invested in a comment. That was great! I especially loved the "Darkstalker is a dark mirror to what people can be," section because I think you're absolutely right. In a lot of ways, he and Clearsight represent the good and evil sides of ourselves. To expand on this, it's really interesting to think about what the fact that they work so well as soulmates for each other may imply; our ability to create good in this world may necessarily be linked to our ability to create evil. Those are both two sides of the same coin - the ability to create change. Whether that change is towards good or towards evil is up to us. And, as you point out so beautifully in your final paragraph, it is therefore also up to us to ensure that the drivers behind our actions are pointed towards the right reason. Thanks for this comment :) It's ones like these that make me smile the most.
@@JadeMountainArchive Thanks for listening! Life is a complicated thing, and if you focus too much on the future, you miss out on the present. But if you stay back in the past, you’ll never be able to move forward. If there’s one thing that Darkstalker is right about, it’s staying in the present. I hope Clearsight lived the happiest future with Sunstreak. Much more wholesome than Tui’s original ‘zombie Clearsight’ plan.
@@lil_ducky2027 For Darkness of Dragons, Tui was going to have Clearsight come back and it was going to be super creepy, but then she decided she wanted a happier ending for our favorite seer, hence arc three was born.
This, is beautiful. This is just sad and great. You being able to even do this is great. I would just cry and have to stop the idea. I just love it so much
Hahaha, I mean, I'm not going to say I didn't cry while putting it all together :P But focusing on the details while you work helps keep the emotions at bay haha. And thanks for the support!
I never realized music could be so beautiful, I have grown up with my brothers listening to rock and roll and other music like that so I was always forced to listen to it but after hearing this music it makes me feel like nothing matters and I don't know if other people feel this way but I do. This type of music touches my heart in a way I cant really describe with words, I hope other people feel this way too so i'm not weird. ;)
I'm going back and rewatching some of your old videos, and ngl this one made me cry. When i read the book i genuinely stopped and thought about what i just read. Keep making great content ❤
I finally finished reading darkstalker for the first time today, and let me tell you, I will be stuck on that same book forever.. Starting in the beginning clearsight always knew darkstalker would change her life forever, and after she met him she tried to focus on the good futures and help him steer that path.. As readers we read all the sweet things darkstalker did for clearsight and his friends, but he still lied to her.. I’m not sure if I was the only one this happened to, but I hit a reading block (idk basically an art block) one you could see darkstalker steer towards the wrong path.. I didn’t want to see it happen after all I had seen people comment on but today I finally finished It was heartbreaking to see hust as much as clearsight did, of how good clearsight X darkstalker could have been. To see all those futures vanish, along with their potential dragonets I felt tears gathering many times in the book, but this part of the book is what made them all come out.. It reads, “She took a deep breath and looked back into his eyes. “Or maybe it’s just part of you, something you hatched with. Maybe that’s what you really got from your father, along with your magic. Maybe you were always going to turn out this way, no matter how I tried to save you.” He lunged toward her, fury flooding through his veins, and seized her wrist, twisting it painfully. “I’m nothing like my father,” he snarled “I don’t need saving. I can choose my own future, and I like the one I see, and your going to learn to like it, too. *where is my scroll?* Something slid coolly along his scales and he glanced down. Clearsight has slipped the moon bracelet off her own arm and in to his. For a brief flash of a moment her mind was open to him again, unguarded for the first time in years, he saw with perfect clarity how she loved him, how she feared him, how many terrible futures lay before them, and how she was betraying him to save everyone else. *goodbye, my dearest love”* Exactly when the tears hit, the realization. this book is a perfect example of how something so great and wonderful, can go so wrong.. this video was a beautiful way to show clearsight a point of view. “Blackness rushed up toward him, enfolding him in its wings, and he was gone.” It amazes me how a dragon like clearsight, still managed to find happiness in the end, a perfect example, of how *something that went so wrong, can become wonderful again.*
The tragedy of Clearsight: The one thing in the series that makes me cry. I don’t cry a lot, but wow. It’s beautiful and painful at the same time. The art is amazing. I told myself not to watch this until I read the legends book, and on Christmas Day, I read the whole thing. Beautiful story, painful ending. Thank you, everyone who participated in the art, for bringing this tragedy to life and making my cry AGAIN.
I only just read Legends: Darkstalker, and Clearsight's story made me cry :,(. She literally sacrificed almost everything to save a world that would never know what she did. I'm happy in the end she managed to find happiness in Pantala, even if it wasn't the one she really hoped for. Fathom is my favorite out of tge three protagonists, but Clearsight is a close second and her beautiful, tragic story is what makes her a great character.
I feel so bad and the fact the Darkstalker in book six and ten was still holding onto clearsights memories not wanting to forget about her! Darkstalker really is the Ying-Yang balance of good and evil…! He may have done some bad things but he truly can be relatable for people who have been heartbroken. Actually Wings of Fire is the mix of Fantasy and Reality…
One of my biggest regrets is not jumping into this fandom earlier, I've never been able to read many books due to time constraints and now i find myself giving up old hobbies to just read these and try to be more involved with the fandom, and this video was one of the biggest catches that really pushed me and this song has almost became an unofficial theme for the series for me, i'll hear it pop up in my playlist randomly and cant help but almost cry because it reminds me of this video then the series as a whole. So from someone who has only been in the fandom for roughly 3 or 4 months thank you JMA for a very pleasant time so far
That was just so beautifully sad, really well described. It hurts me so much that everything good that could've happened with them, ended up not happening at all. It was all because of the decisions Darkstalker chose to make. It was really a tragedy for Clearsight, but hopefully as peacemaker, he can prove to Clearsight that there is good in him somewhere...
Wow. just wow. I'm touched. that was so beautiful. when I watched this I teard up, and I teard Up while reading the book. I am so shocked how beautiful that was, I criedd so hard at the end of the book and then the next day... I cried even more. Wow is just so Amazing.
Me too. I was pretty much despondent for like 2 days after I finished that book. It was just so well written! "Goodbye, my dearest love," gets me every time. And thanks for the kind words :)
literally, it almost made me cry when clearsight gave up darkstalker, and it made me almost cry again when he got turned into peacemaker and forgot about his past, and only, love. it's also tragic when turtle tosses the marble and darkstalker thinks its clearsight. just so sad and tragic.
love the videos, love how you love every comment! my entire day is watching your videos, your so entertaining and thanks for everything in these videos!
every time i think about the scene where Clearsight leaves Darkstalker to be buried and considers killing herself, i want to cry so much. hearing the end of Darkstalker's Duet in my mind every time I think about it doesn't help
Clearsight is the most tragic character who still managed to find peace and happiness in the end
Every single Wof video I watch ur comment is always there with tons of likes! 😂

To quote Brandon Sanderson, one of my all-time favorite authors,
"It will get worse. But then it will get better. Then it will get worse again. Then better. This is life, and I will not lie by saying every day will be sunshine. But there will be sunshine again, and that is a very different thing to say. That is truth. I promise you: You will be warm again."
Whatever path your future holds, I wish you the best. Just know that I, and I'm sure the rest of the WoF community, are rooting for you.
awwwwwww
Gah dayum that must be very painful my dude
He used them to help no dragon exept himself which is also why I can never truly like him.
i hope you're doing alright and you don't have to put her asleep for 1000s of years.. or 100s.
The future letter is such a good addition to the series. I'm so glad Tui included that.

@@JadeMountainArchive it really makes me sad that there are so many people defending darkstalker saying that he did nothing wrong
While he was wrong, almost anyone would've done the same given the circumstances,it begs a question,if anyone would've done the same,is it truly wrong?
Careful the more you think on it the harder it is to answer
@@gabeprice2706 agreed, if I had that power, I’d do what I could to protect my family but not the way he did.
No, no, no - I loved that little piece. The connections between Sunstreak and Darkstalker pull it together so well! Thanks for sharing :)
@@JadeMountainArchive ofc ty!
I was more sad about Listener and Clearsight than Darkstalker and Clearsight 😐 😐 😐
yeah same I really did want to see them too
Wait she had a husband named Sunstreak? I didn’t remember lol-
It was indeed tragic, but I also have to applaud Clearsight for her sheer bravery in what she did.
Great essay, compelling points! Clearsight really was the hero and, for me at least, an inspiration to try to make the future better.
artic might have done terrible things. yet i still cry whenever i read his death. the _way_ he died..no one deserves that.and reading the winglets to gain further insight, he might of still been good, even if deep inside.

@@melodysmusicaladventures596 Perhaps. It was probably already too late when they got there though.
That ending hit me like a truck - I was despondent for a couple days afterwards haha. It really was sad!

Most of Fathom's family and a lot of who else he knew and loved also died, I would say he had it pretty bad too
Darkstalker is my favorite character and will forever be held close.
They truly had something special, didn't they?
Indeed they did.
eh I failed the challenge too don’t best ya self up about it. Even tho Clearsight’s and Darkstalker’s story is the literal definition of the phrase: “hello depression, my old friend”, she still found happiness in the end

True
Your TRAGIC voice is making it hard NOT to cry :,( also, I completely agree with this video. The book did have the saddest moments, and in the end, that's when I nearly cried. Thank you for making this video. It helps me understand what actually happened.
Just so true. I really liked the concept of Darkstalker x Clearsight. As we know, it’ll never happen again.
They really were something special.
It’s like what Moon had said, Power is a not a gift, it’s a curse.
Love this connection to Moon - she's like a mini Clearsight in a lot of ways. As I see it, power is potential. Potential for extreme good, but also extreme evil. It's up to those with the power to try to sway which direction it tips.
I thought that is what her mother said, cause at the end of "Darkness of Dragons" she said her gift was not a curse.
@@mrmarksman4965 oh, Im not sure now. I remembered moon saying.
but I haven't reread book 6 or 10 yet so i guess i don't really know
@@zForce4 I just reread them.
Omg, JMA! Goosebumps! I’m crying right now! This is beautiful but so sad. This really helps me understand WoF a little bit more. Thank you!
Thank you.
I'm glad you found it meaningful. Personally, I think it is still the video I'm most proud of having made.
Agreed. I hope, at least, that through the tears you were still able to find something beautiful in the time they had together.

This is beautiful
yet very sad, because it's true.
This gave me literal chills and questions about what is to come for my life I used to think I would love to be able to see the future but this always gives me second thoughts
I didn’t end up crying, but this was so beautiful that I got chills. This is amazing. Thank you for making this

darkstalker legends is a masterclass in writing a story with dwindling hope, the story is such a tragedy... theeen darkstalker ate a funni strawberry
Im not crying your crying…
This was the saddest Book for me cause i went through sort if the same thing, someone i loved, became a monster to others and they tried to control me into staying with them, they were so good at persuasion that i fell for it.. but luckily my sister was there to get me out of it :)
I hope you're in a better place now and, good luck with your next one!
It’s so sad. Someone who I loved went away. I can feel her pain even if she’s not real. This video was so beautiful. Thank you.
Their love was both great and terrible - much agreed and good luck when you do decide to open it back up.

This is the best tribute I have ever watched. I am in tears and in awe of this work of art
This is so good. I was very sad when Clearsight had to leave Darkstalker.
I'm glad :) The ending truly was something special.
As someone who just finished reading Darkstalker I can agree that this is the perfect song for Clearsight. It threw me back into the moment where she slipped the braclet onto his arm and said goodbye forever...
It's such a beautiful piece. I'd highly recommend checking out the composer's (Kishi Bashi) other stuff too!
@@JadeMountainArchive I will thanks!
This shows that no matter what life throws at you, no matter how many times you are broken and shattered, you can still find all the pieces and put them back together, and with those pieces, you can find hope, and a new life full of happiness. This broke my heart, but also taught me something. Thank you for making this.
I'm glad you were able to find meaning in it :)
She lost so much because he was so selfishly aiming towards the darkest path. I’ve never cried more than now.
I hope, at least, that through the tears you were still able to find something beautiful in their story.
AAAAA JMA WHY IS THIS SO GOOD D:
I'm glad I could reach your heart with this video and I hope you enjoy the rest of the content here!
You are absolutely correct - Clearsight is a legend and, in my opinion, one of the best characters in the entire series.
@@JadeMountainArchive i swear the music makes it both worse and better
i love that clear sight in 0:28
Clear sight got it hard. She really deserved better. Clearsight could never have changed it, maybe even those good futures were a figment of her imagination…
Exactly what I am saying. Great word choices :)
Wow.
This is the only thing that makes me cry
But then he gets mined controlled JUST AMAGIN THE OTHERMIND HAVING AN ANUMIS then as the line says in the prophecy “None of the tribes will Servive”
Good job Kinkajou you stoped dragon extinction.
@@JadeMountainArchive yeah that’s true
I actually started crying after I finished reading the book because I felt so bad for Clearsight. I also kinda felt bad for Darkstalker because he thought he was doing the right thing. I still tear up to this day thinking about it ;-;
This is just sad I cried for the whole thing
Its sad 😢 its sad that she left here kid’s in the future or no future😢😢 I learned more from you!
But. It. Will. Never be.
i don't feel sad for darkstalker, it was his choice to go down. clearsight tried to help him, but he just didn't take the help
And in the end … Darkstalker hated Fathom… and took it out on Turtle and Anemone..
@@lightofthefandoms6496 Zombie Clearsight plan? What's that?
@@lil_ducky2027 For Darkness of Dragons, Tui was going to have Clearsight come back and it was going to be super creepy, but then she decided she wanted a happier ending for our favorite seer, hence arc three was born.

I'm going back and rewatching some of your old videos, and ngl this one made me cry. When i read the book i genuinely stopped and thought about what i just read. Keep making great content ❤
i just finished reading darkstalker(im re-reading wof) and i almost cried, its childish but this couple related to so many real world problems😭
Whenever I was reading this and I read “goodbye my dearest love” i started crying, it was just so sad
Wow- every peice of this video works perfectly together. The song is amazing- I almost cried ;-;
I'm right there with you - it's an emotional ride from start to finish.
I didn’t want to see it happen after all I had seen people comment on but today I finally finished
It was heartbreaking to see hust as much as clearsight did, of how good clearsight X darkstalker could have been. To see all those futures vanish, along with their potential dragonets
I felt tears gathering many times in the book, but this part of the book is what made them all come out..
It reads, “She took a deep breath and looked back into his eyes. “Or maybe it’s just part of you, something you hatched with. Maybe that’s what you really got from your father, along with your magic. Maybe you were always going to turn out this way, no matter how I tried to save you.”
He lunged toward her, fury flooding through his veins, and seized her wrist, twisting it painfully. “I’m nothing like my father,” he snarled “I don’t need saving. I can choose my own future, and I like the one I see, and your going to learn to like it, too. *where is my scroll?*
Something slid coolly along his scales and he glanced down.
*goodbye, my dearest love”*
Exactly when the tears hit, the realization. this book is a perfect example of how something so great and wonderful, can go so wrong.. this video was a beautiful way to show clearsight a point of view.
“Blackness rushed up toward him, enfolding him in its wings, and he was gone.”
It amazes me how a dragon like clearsight, still managed to find happiness in the end, a perfect example, of how *something that went so wrong, can become wonderful again.*
Sorry I didn’t mean to make an entire essay😂
But you know what’s more special than the tragedy of Clearsight, man? You! You are amazing!! You deserve more than what you have!!
Awwwww, thank you!
This is the most inspirational thing I have ever seen. This is somthing i wont forget
While I was listening to this, I started to cry. This is amazing video.
I feel so bad for them both. This story makes me want to hug them both and comfort them. 😢
And then, Clearlight left darkstalker for some bees overseas ☠️
Lowkey tho this scene from wof made me cry
