being able to hear the kick / bass rhythm so clearly in the chorus is real nice. This is an early / rushed mix they had to get out to radio. The version that appears on Singles and Dirt is the same mix elements, recording and production, but reflecting more mix hours. This is probably a 1-2 hour mix, the album version is likely a 6-9 hour mix. Idk I wasn't there
I cannot get over how much better it sounds like this and normally I'm INTO reverb, but not this time. This is an epic masterpiece that should be taught in high school music classes and they should use this version. This is the perfect song. My absolute favorite, hands down.
@@EightySeven-c8v not saying I don't believe you, but as an artist who almost exclusively records to reel and cassette, I never get this quality from em, ever
This version makes me hear the growling sounds of the bass and the snare echoes more plus the cymbals or hi-hats? (maybe) and the distortion of the guitar is more heavier. This version is so raw and haunting...
Glad you like it brother, I actually uploaded this from a cassette tape recorded off the radio from 1993. At least you appreciate it some many people are whining about the damn quality
That part when the Jerry's solo nears the end and Layne echoes in is just crazy, even crazier full blast with bass boosted headphones on full blast because it just wakes me up and gets me thinking about their music and how real it is
Like this one because Laynes voice isn't overproduced. With tons of reverb. It sounds more raw
And I can hear Jerry now 😂
One word to describe this song: eargasm.
elninjalaranja amazing!
Transcendental
I'll allow it. :-)
What a find thank you from one 49 year old Alice in chains fan to another what a masterpiece
You're welcome brother! I recorded this off the radio on cassette in 93

Yeah
that brings back memories!!
I wish I had these versions on an album they are perfect
BR
on the album the am i wrong part dont have harmony
It actually does you can just barely hear it, but if you listen to the isolated vocal track it’s there
Pretty sure this is the track on dirt. They just remixed it on the album.
Sounds better more Nirvana's style some faster and dark
