Hey man I usually never comment on anything but I thought I would tonight. I’ve been throughly enjoying your videos since the beginning but when you picked up the Jesus license plate read it and didn’t make a disrespectful comment or some off color joke… I respect that and I respect you. I hope you get everything you’re going after bubba you deserve it. Keep pumping out the great content.
Hey puddin just wanted to let you know that one of the pigtails that you cut out controls the idle up when the ac kicks on. Also that idle up system is controlled by that one control valve that you chucked out that was screwed in just before the cold start injector that you plugged. The one with the idle screw on top and the lil J looking vaccum hose connector that was at 16:38. Also in that same system that the white pigtail in 11:10 that you removed. Is part of of the ac idle up system. Also i agree with an other commenter. Changing over to an electric cooling fan does free up a bit of HP that you can feel. having an electric cooling fan that triggers to come on when the ac turns on makes the whole ac feel frosty inside. I swear my old 90 toyota pickup 22re with those mods. Had the coldest ac ever compared to all my other vehicles no joke. Also i want to add. Add a vaccum hose going to the fuel pressure regulator at 23:23. Also those 22re seems to like rotella t4 10w30 diesel oil. It quiets down the vavletrain quite a bit. Makes those flat tappets happy with the zinc thats in diesel oil. Gotta keep that lil noisy sewing machine happy Ps. If you planning on keeping that cluster when you cab swap it. You can just swap a SR5 cluster out of a 92-95 22re pick up truck to get voltage, coolant, oil pressure, fuel gauge and tachometer. Pretty much plug and play just gotta change out the oil pressure sensor to the sr5 one. If you dont youll blow out the sensor reader in the gauge. Also almost forgot to add. Need to add a wire to the ignition coil to the cluster to get the tach to work You want those years since a 93 should have a electronic speedometer vs a cable driven one If you need a few pictures i still have some of my old rustbucket pickup lol Keep up the great work puddin
I'm glad I checked the intro. Dad passed a couple weeks ago. Had a golden firebird just like that one. Really wanted to show him the videos but didn't get the chance to.
I have a 1990 Toyota truck, a 1992 Toyota Penske box truck, and a 2002 Toyota RAV 4. My Toyota box truck was restored to a shiny new condition, and I was inspired by you to do this after first seeing your Yee Haul video.
I know you don’t typically try to make a bunch of power with your builds, but you could do some pretty awesome engine mods with those 22RE engines. It would be awesome to see you throw in a cam and some upgraded internals and maybe even a small turbo???? Just this one time? 😎
The part you took off at 17:00 is an idle adjuster the little black knob is an easier idle screw to adjust. It also helps with going back to idle and not dying when snapping off the throttle.
Jacob, since you are a fan of factory look but better, get yourself some Chrysler 300 steel wheels and paint them silver. They are identical to the factory wheels but 3” bigger at 17” same lug pattern. I hope you see this.
I've been a Toyota guy for the better part of 25 years. I've had several 22Re's and they all sounded just like that. It could need a timing chain set. I get all of my stuff from LC Engineering or Yota 1 Performance, their quality is just better than anywhere else. LC Engineering has a great call center for brains to pick if you need to give them a call, lord knows I have.
@@Hanky_Bannist8r and then eats the back of your timing cover right behind the water outlet/inlet. dumped the coolant into my oil in the nevada desert in my 85 celica. (never got why the US version got the 22RE instead of the 4A-GE or 3T-GTE like its JDM and EU counterparts)
Exactly, a line boring machine is used to correctly align and size the cam bearings. Ask Honda what happens when you try to get fancy and not use a line bore. They had to recall a shit ton of motorcycle engines because they ate the cams.
I had a 1985 Toyota Xcab pickup 4x4 with the fuel injected 22RE, the holy grail of trucks. Puddin's engine work takes me back. At a few points I was screaming at the screen but he will get there I am sure.
Hey Puddin, always love yer content. Have had 4 of the Yoda trucks over the years (all 80's and 90's) and a bunch of cars. One I built as a mini truck, the next as a rock crawler, an 80 2WD -bone stock- and a right hand drive Landcruiser. As much as I want to support the domestic vehicle industry (I'm in Canada) it's hard when you have these old imports that just do not die. All of my builds are still on the road today!
