  • A sketch I did based on the old town streets we saw with Kana on our trip to Kanazawa and Kaga-shi.
    I didn’t want to paint exactly what I saw on the photos we took there but imagined a street that is an amalgam of some of the interesting places I remembered.

    Paper: HOLBEIN Waterford white 300g/m cold pressed cotton paper A5 size sketchbook

    Thank you for making such nice videos. Your artwork is beautiful and your voiceovers are a perfect balance every time. I always look forward to seeing your next video.
    I really wish that society would embrace beauty and longevity in design again. It feels so cold and lifeless to walk through modern city streets sometimes. None of the buildings have charm or individuality. I like that you have created a street that you would like to see. That's such a good idea. I think I'll give it a try myself.

    Piękna akwarela i piękne miejsce! Taką Japonię lubię, stare uliczki, specyficzny klimat, sklepiki, małe bary sushi… Ekstra! Ech szkoda, że nas tam nie ma!

    I can't even begin to express to you how much I love your work. You've inspired me in so many ways - thank you for everything you put out, I hope you continue to do the best👌 and especially as an architecture student, I agree with you on how buildings have no life within them anymore, unlike historical architecture. Its happening all over the world, unfortunately. Also the camera is great!

    Your videos are so calming and relaxing to watch and I really learnt a lot by watching your videos like laying down shadows with watercolour ( which I struggled with for a while haha) Hearing your thoughts makes me want to visit Japan again someday too ^^

    I like watching your videos when I'm doing my arch plates; I find it relaxing and very inspiring!! And I love how you color your perspectives- its really artsy compared to my typical architectural renders- its very interesting how the styles differ and I like yours better since it makes the picture feel magical and nostalgic. Keep up the good work ^^

    Your art made me want to go to japan more!! I have some questions about the ipad pro, I'm planning on getting one this christmas. Is it worth the money? What size should I get? Does it feel like traditional art? Thanks~

    • @mattjabbar
      @mattjabbar  6 лет назад +3

      I think the iPad PRO is worth the money, the smaller one and the bigger too. I have the smaller one and I think it's enough but is you want to use 2 apps at once (for example have reference and painting on) the bigger one would be better. I would recommend putting a mat film on it though and investing in one that has a lot memory. It made me do digital art again and I use it all the time. I edited this video on my iPad ;)

      Only by practice I think :) also by studying buildings and their details and how they are put together.
