- A sketch I did based on the old town streets we saw with Kana on our trip to Kanazawa and Kaga-shi.
I didn’t want to paint exactly what I saw on the photos we took there but imagined a street that is an amalgam of some of the interesting places I remembered.

Dude, you gave me the motivation to start practicing urban and building drawing
I need this in my room to look at when stressed, it's so beautiful and calming
I love the way you work with colours.. you're a master of creating a harmonious atmosphere! Thanks for giving a little insight of your work station too. Cheers
Thank you for making such nice videos. Your artwork is beautiful and your voiceovers are a perfect balance every time. I always look forward to seeing your next video.
I really wish that society would embrace beauty and longevity in design again. It feels so cold and lifeless to walk through modern city streets sometimes. None of the buildings have charm or individuality. I like that you have created a street that you would like to see. That's such a good idea. I think I'll give it a try myself.
every single one of your video warms my heart. i don’t know how you do it but you make me love you more & more with each upload. thank you for providing us with amazing content & completely captivating art. the world doesn’t deserve you
I like your new video format. Keep up the good work.
Excellent video, I love the new direction. I loved seeing the different views of you testing the colours and mixing your paints. All of your videos are great but this one was even greater!
Piękna akwarela i piękne miejsce! Taką Japonię lubię, stare uliczki, specyficzny klimat, sklepiki, małe bary sushi… Ekstra! Ech szkoda, że nas tam nie ma!
I can't even begin to express to you how much I love your work. You've inspired me in so many ways - thank you for everything you put out, I hope you continue to do the best👌 and especially as an architecture student, I agree with you on how buildings have no life within them anymore, unlike historical architecture. Its happening all over the world, unfortunately. Also the camera is great!
Your videos are so calming and relaxing to watch and I really learnt a lot by watching your videos like laying down shadows with watercolour ( which I struggled with for a while haha) Hearing your thoughts makes me want to visit Japan again someday too ^^
damn dude , this is beautiful ... the contrast between the purple and yellow , and then those light colors, i feel like a child when watching your pics .. i hope you arent mad if i copy your style XDD, i live i germany which has equally beautiful and lush places like japan, i never did any location hunting , just heard about it recently , but i want to make pictures which give people smile on their face too
I like watching your videos when I'm doing my arch plates; I find it relaxing and very inspiring!! And I love how you color your perspectives- its really artsy compared to my typical architectural renders- its very interesting how the styles differ and I like yours better since it makes the picture feel magical and nostalgic. Keep up the good work ^^
This watercolor piece is beautiful and very peaceful, I love it ! I especially like the way you work with lightning and shading, it gives a really nice effect at the end.
i really can't express how much i love every single painting you make. it looks very, very good recorded with the new panasonic camera, too!
I really wish I could do an artist research of your art, I just love your style and thanks to your videos I feel more confident with watercolours although I’m not at the same level of skill as yours of course. Keep up the good work mateusz :3
Great video as always. Love how you slowed down at some parts and then speed up the process again. Very nice touch.
Beautiful work
I relax watching your videos and much more with the normal speed when painting. Hello from Chile.
😱 omg hola
So beautiful! I love your choice of wash colours.
I'm a huge fan of yours!!! Thank you a lot!!
Love this street! Want to live there lol TFS

your video is always curing, inspiring and encouraging.
This is amazing!
Nice one! Thx for the information on Kanazawa :)
Great videos. Nice new images with your new panasonic.
very talented!
Thank you for all of your wonderful videos. I noticed your pencils have a very good point. You mention electric pencil sharpener.. what brand do you use to get that great point?
Wow super klimat :D
Woooo, me encantaron tus videos en definitiva me suscribo! (Y)
Another amazing video :) Your art is so inspiring. I'm glad you're able to make better videos thanks to our support on patreon ^^
Your art made me want to go to japan more!! I have some questions about the ipad pro, I'm planning on getting one this christmas. Is it worth the money? What size should I get? Does it feel like traditional art? Thanks~
I think the iPad PRO is worth the money, the smaller one and the bigger too. I have the smaller one and I think it's enough but is you want to use 2 apps at once (for example have reference and painting on) the bigger one would be better. I would recommend putting a mat film on it though and investing in one that has a lot memory. It made me do digital art again and I use it all the time. I edited this video on my iPad ;)
cute! we need to build a village seperate to keep nice homes only.
Beautiful illustration, thank you for sharing your process Mateusz!
Is it possible to watch Mushime to Anime you've mentioned anywhere in internet, or it's only possible to buy it?
If you look well there are fan translations of the comic part of the book in English floating in the Internet :)
So relaxing and pretty... In how many hours did you finish it?
I was fiddling a lot with the camera, but I think it was about 3-4 hours of painting
Hi matsuez, fantastic video! May I ask who is your favourite artist?
岑朗軒 I actually uploaded a list of some of my favorite artist to my Patreon recently: www.patreon.com/posts/just-update-and-14525448
How can one get better at drawing landscapes/street drawing/city scapes?
Only by practice I think :) also by studying buildings and their details and how they are put together.
Saw your tweet about this
is your sketchbook the green and yellow one?
This is a sketch?! My sketches are only doodles😵
How many hours for the outline ? I am always wondering how long it takes. Thanks !
don't remember exactly but I'm guessing about an hour. :)
The Patreon button is not coming up in the end of the video. Unless it's just me?

Did you teach yourself watercolours or did you get taught somewhere?
I'm self-tought
Did you ink this Mateusz?
is it weird if I watch your videos while lifting weights?
Yes :)
it makes me sad seeing more and more generic souless homes everywhere too.
