subtitle: Method of teaching lion dance in Malaysia, is with the cane. All of my students have "eaten" the cane, you can ask anyone of them. The way I teach my students, IS with the cane, but here cannot. Your Australian government will sue me. Actually, when I am punishing and caning my students, it is not meant to hurt them (there is a way especially for a Kung Fu practitioner, can inflict a superficial "burning" pain with the cane with a very quick flick of the cane,) but it is to create an impact so the student will remember a mistake or what NOT to do. Even when at Hong Kong, I was asked to teach the lion dance handlers (or movie stars,) they are also subjected to the same method of teaching (I'd kick them...) Because if I don't do, actually, I am not wanting to injure them, but it is a reminder. I now invite someone (not my students) so they can "feel" the way I teach. Oh you, a fellow Malaysian, you will do. No problem, after I kick you... Okay, get on the "horse" stance. This stance/position is wrong. When I teach, I will be holding his hands/wrists like this and I will twist his wrist as such. I will kick him like this, open open open open, I will tell him that you have to stand like this, which is why I kicked him. And if his back is like such, I will use the cane and correct it. ok, thank you. Because when you hold his hand/wrists like this, you can get his elbow into the right position. In addition, when you stand like this (straight up,) I pretend to land a kick to his crotch and my student relfex naturally, ah, that is the right stance/position. I do not actually land the kick on them, but it is to generate the reflex, which is the right stance. Then I tell them "ah, this is the right one." Otherwise, he will vomit out his food from a fortnight ago. etc etc repeat of his position teaching. And after you repeated 3 times, and it is not followed, then the cane comes. Again, when caning, it is not to inflict injury, but serve as a teaching reminder. etc etc
Why he's horse so big 1 kick he drop to the floor I know he's a pro but so many people can performe on the stage and can't do anything when it's set up by someone else!
this is an awesome video! thanks for posting!

Why he's horse so big 1 kick he drop to the floor I know he's a pro but so many people can performe on the stage and can't do anything when it's set up by someone else!
Is it bad for sifus' to hit you in inappropriate place?
