- You can walk from Pratunam all the way to the Siam Paragon Mall under the cover of the R-Walk and Central World Skywalk.
During the Rainy Season this makes it easy to walk around in the shopping district of Bangkok, even during heavy downpoor.

I absolutely love the skywalk system. I think it was originally intended to link the BTS stations with nearby attractions, not necessarily to be a transportation route in its own right. But I think they've started seeing the opportunity, and are trying to connect a lot of the skywalk sections that are inexplicably unconnected. I'd love to see a skywalk under most/all of the BTS track, at least in "downtown".
Yes it is correct, at the beginning they make the sky walk for connecting the BTS station to the shopping mall, and people like it, then they expanding to many area.
It all started in early 2000's Central Group(Central world) in cooperation with Siam Piwat (Siam Paragon)and BTS sharing the cost to build the first Bangkok skywalk to connect each other. That time the news paper called it hi-so(high soceity) skywalk/bridge. I remembered reading the news. And now in 2023, skywalk are all over Bangkok.
@@wowprint5758Thank you for your info!🙏🙏
it actually comes from fail sidewalk system in bangkok tho
@@ladyboykant the pavement in Bangkok in the pass 10 years is much better than before. But hi-so people they don't like the air pollution on the street.
Bangkok is one of the best city in the world with skywalk and sky bridge.👍👍 Love this city ❣️❣️
My wife and I will be there next week. We plan to use the skywalk from Platinum to Siam Paragon. I just hope its a good walk. : Thanks for the update Global Mate.
ยินดีต้อนรับครับ
Perfect way to walk in Bangkok in the rain or daytime sun
Soooo awesome I love it can’t wait to see it when I coming to Thailand ❤🇹🇭❤️ Thailand you are the best
Nice Skywalk
It must be nice walking “under” the rain without getting wet.
I love the rain and don't even mind walking in light rain. This Skywalk has really bumped Bangkok as a long term destination. I don't particularly like living in the heart of the city but this Skywalk could make things more tolerable.
Love bangkok see you in oktober 26 always good updates
Oh man I used to love walking the skywalks in the rain. The memories.
Leaving for Bangkok tomorrow, good to know.
Welcome to the Rainy Season🌧🌧🌧☂️☔️
Greetings from the Windy City!
Skywalk is a really good thing to walk and have an overview, dry too if it’s rain ☔️, 😊✌🏼👍🏼🇹🇭
One of the only vlogger that I’ve seen that actually puts the date and time of their videos
It is necessary for BKK to build more skywalks that link around the city because of weather related issues (heat flooding), pollution, etc.
Bangkok is not Bangkok without rains, I like it cause it’s not so hot🙏
Keep up the good work! It is videos like this that really helps us get a better feel of how to navigate around Bangkok and Thailand in general. I am planning to bring my wife to Bangkok next month and if i wanted to meet you and your girlfriend and buy you guys lunch or just chat over coffee, it that possible?
I walked this except same route after visiting Chatutak market, nice re-visit😊
It comes to my knowledge that it always rain in the evening in bkk during raining months ...
The City of London starting developing what was to be 30 miles of skywalks ('Pedways') in the mid-50's. It was to be an extensive system of linked Pedways. By the mid-80s, the scheme had effectively been discontinued, although some minor extensions were added in 2017. Many of the Pedways still exist, but the system is a mere shadow of what it should have become. It is brilliant that BKK has, and still is developing their system, especially useful during heavy rain and hot sunshine, as well as safer due to not needing to cross roads and transverse dodgy pavements.
So nice seeing Bangkok in the rain, and the walkways. Thanks!
What I really appreciate from the BKK Skywalk system is that you don't break an ankle walking as you would on the ground-level sidewalks with holes
Very beautiful❤❤❤❤❤😍
I agree those skywalks are great. There could be better connectivity but I'm seeing improvement. I can remember defying death crossing the road at the Asok intersection 20 years ago - what an improvement today!
20 yrs passed, there has been a big change in Bangkok, you would be amazed when you visit again this year.
Yes, the traffic. Inexperienced farang said no, we'll catch a taxi. Took us 2 hours to get from On Nut to Nana. Love it. LOL
Most hate rainy season but for me just walking and roaming in days off and see people walking and feeling wind touch my skin and listening to the sound of rain is the best part in rainy season thanks for sharing video❤
Beutyful ❤❤❤
Love watching these videos jereon,,,peace and happiness as always
I hope it’s also good not to get wet during songkran 😂
U may take a video in muang thong thani as the skywalk from Cosmo Bazaar to Novotel and convention center have built.
Thank you for the tip :-)
Thanks Jeroen! Always good seeing you.
Hopefully it's better when I get back next month
Not only escape from the rain and from the sun, but it's also people can escape from the air pollution on the street.
Paragon Yersterday must be a good idea!
My condo is near MRT , so you just put yourself in the system you will not get wet and can connect to all malls by bts also
Great vid! Really don't need the growl at the end though!
Bangkok is known, across the world, for its colourful street life - street food, street vendors etc -
The sky walks are designed, built and maintained to avoid the Bangkok street life. 😂
There are actual people living in Bangkok. It's not just made for tourists :-)
The skywalk is great, but unfortunately what needs to be better is the state of our sidewalks
Yes, I absolutely agree! I am always amazed by supermodern architecture in Bangkok and surrounding green areas but when you make one step outside, there are pretty poor sidewalks. I think Bangkok would look so much better if they start to improve those sidewalks. Hope to see that improvement soon!
Jeroen, did you ever consider buying and testing one of those folding bicycles from Lazada? I see a very good looking folding bicycles for 200 USD even less, and they come with disc brakes and shimano parts. What I am interested in is their quality, but for some reason I believe they are the exact same bicycles that are sold here in Europe for 1000 euros each!? If you didn't have a chance to test one maybe you can ask your bicycle expert friend from Decathlon about it? Or you can buy one for Mirela and test it in one of yours upcoming videos :) Thanks for nice vlogs, as always! P.S. If I am correct, you can bring folding bike in BTS and MRT right (in folded state)? Which in turn makes you a super mobile in such a huge city.
By the way… Have you ever checked out the Chatuchak Park to compare with Benjakitti and Lumphini?
sawadee ka
terima Kasih 💞
thank you 💕
谢谢 💕
Very nice .if you make video up to MBK it will be better.
Is there a map of where these all are? Would love to check all of them out!
Is the skywalk equipped with lif/evelevators? I'm planning to go to malls in that area with my mom. Thank you
when will rainy season going to end in Bangkok?? will it ends in September or it will last till November.
Woww.. I have never tried this skywalk and btw how come there was no traffic jam on this area.😮
It was on sunday.
Interesting video on navigating in the rain. Are you going to make a video of the Centennial Park? I have not found any RUclips videos of the Park.
The name is a bit complicated, some also call it the Centenary Park ruclips.net/video/7FXEs6y3_tg/видео.html
@@globaltravelmate The Centenary Park is at Chulalongkorn University while the Centennial Park @0:52 in this video is adjacent to Ratchaprasong Road by Klong Saen Saep. Are you going to make a video of the Centennial Park?
Rain is ok but watch out for the storm.
the biggest one could paralyze entire city and massive amount of people on BTS
Are there electric bikes rental in Bangkok yet?
Someplace but not recommended the road in Thailand are very dangerous. Thai people might be so kind yet when they drive they turn into a werewolf 😂
@@Watchalone 99% of Bangkok people driving calmly, but it is very dangerous when it's just 1% is werewolf...
😂😂😂
Those walkways can you cycle on them ?
No, you can not use your bicycle on them.
@@globaltravelmate Shame , would be nice to have a similar system for cyclists.
@@kavanobrien6547 Yeah, I would love that a lot. haha
Is this shit gonna stop in a week when I get there?
awww I thought Thailand are poor and so much of ladyboy, but here they look so fine and not really like what I think
westerners moved to Thailand and Bangkok because in their country, they living far away from the city centre, in the countryside or suburb which is very quiet and isolation. if you living in major city centre in Australia, Canada . The quality of life much better than Bangkok, no pollution, clean , beautipful park and people are more civilised than Bangkok. Australian cities full of international student, high end tourist, university, multinational companies with expat. In Australia, you find thousand of Thai working in massage parlour around the city and suburb and they never feel ashame walking in the street very confident
what a deluded green-eyed commie 🤭
Thailand is surrounded by what we Thais refer to as "Nosy "Aunties" Next door" 😂😂😂 (ป้าข้างบ้าน - Pah Kang Baan)
You are so soul-crushingly jealous of Thailand, my dear. If you want to vent on your sense of inferiority, go attack France, your former colonial lord of life, or something. Go voice your support to the movement in Niger so something!
คุณต้องการอะไร ทำเพื่ออะไร ที่ประชาสัมพันธ์แง่ลบและด้านที่ไม่ดีแบบนั้น คุณอย่าไปคิดแทนคนที่มาที่นี้
@@user-fp7qs9ue3c Even Thai people dont want to be friend with Thai in Australia. you should spend more time in Australia then you know what I am talking about . it about money among Thai people , how much money you can make
Very good video
